Wegman's is very clean and organized. The lines are never too long and they always seem to be restocking their shelves. Most of their prices are comparable to other grocery stores in the area, but their produce does seem to be a little higher. However, the quality of the produce is usually worth the extra pennies. I don't really treat myself to their buffet but do purchase their sushi a lot. It's actually pretty good. My husband and I were surprised the first time we ordered their sushi, but now this is where we go when we don't want to do a sit down restaurant. I freaking LOVE wegmans. So much to see and try. My only issue is the crazy high prices on most items but most people know beforehand that it's not a cheap place. If you want cheap go to Aldis. I shop there too. If you want organic and good quality foods and products, come here. While their hot food bar is ridiculously pricey...the food is OFF THE CHAIN good. Asian, Indian, American, Mexican, Italian. Whatever your heart fancies. They even sell delicious fresh sushi....and in a family size too if you need a larger amount.. I just love this place. The organic veggies taste so darn good especially their cabbage. It's the best I've ever had in my life. I like to make fried cabbage with caramelized onions and I also cook some of their organic pork smoked sausage and add it in there for a simple and low carb dish. It's amazingly decadent! Also for those people who are in low carb diets/lifestyles and want a sweet treat that won't make you comatose or send your blood sugar into high gear, try the Halo Top Ice Cream. I love Wegmans pre made foods. I can grab and go! I went in looking for the family pack of Watermelon - Score! Delicious as always. I also went in looking for their Portobello Mushroom Pizza. They did not have any in the case. I was little disappointed but I came out with California rolls and the Chicken and Cheese Quesadillas. The rolls were good. I typically get the Crab roll but I did not see those either. Either way, by the end of the night I was fully, happy camper. read more

I like the products Wegman's carries, particularly its produce, which is often fresher than other stores. But good luck getting it all home after you've paid for it. Four times, now (4!) I discovered an item missing and had to drive all the way back for it after the checker neglected to pack it in my bags. A major annoyance. They're always apologetic and replace things without question, but it's still a hassle. The problem seems to be in the awkward set-up for checkers, which makes it easy to miss things. Plus, they seem to be racing each other to keep the lines moving. I've switched to other stores because of this, but return sometimes for the produce - with fingers crossed. read more

Wegmans is fantastic! They carry items that I have trouble finding elsewhere and have a huge selection of just about everything. I was also surprised that when I compare my grocery list price-wise with other local stores, Wegmans is the least expensive every single time. I use the Wegmans brand on many things, and they are of as high quality as name brands, if not better! The website has great ideas and recipes to keep meals interesting, and I love their shopping list app to make sure I stay on budget. LOVE IT! Grocery shopping doesn't get any better than this. If you have to do it--do it here. All of the sampling--legal and some illegal!---You'll be full when you leave!! Ha! Hubby and I go every Sunday and I know it's a shame--but I head straight for the cookies. I'm still on the fence about us (customers) having the leisure to pick our own cookies from the batch in the bakery but clearly it doesn't bother me too much b/c I stack my own quickly before they go. Be prepared to get the "full shopping experience" here. Every time I come, I discover something new! Plan ahead when coming, because due to the sheer size of the location and inventory, you may find yourself here a few hours before you're done! Surprisingly, I have yet to come here and find it too crowded. That is always my concern with going to a new Wegmans location. But here, they've got it all under control. Can't say any different than what has already been said by others. This is way better than Safeway and Giant. My wife felt bad for Giant, as they were good, but I told her not too feel bad for them. Giant and Safeway have been years ahead of Wegmans, but failed to hit the nail and understand what people wanted. I pretty much agree with the positive posts about Wegmans here. I like it because it has a lot of unique foods that you simply can't find in the average grocery store. I shop here quite a bit now and the only gripe I have is the selection of fruits and vegetables, it's not that great. Not enough organic fruit either. The Giant down the street seems have higher quality fruits and vegetables in my opinion. I wasn't necessarily expecting Whole Foods or Fresh Market selection and quality; but after all the hype, I was expecting better than they offer. I haven't found the prices to be over the top like some have posted; I've found some items here cheaper than Target. I haven't tried the restaurant/café/buffets, mostly because I like to shop after normal hours, i.e. after all the crowds die down. Oh, this is not in Crofton. For a grocery store, this one of the bests. From groceries to a place with a wide variety of prepared foods there is something for everyone. All of the products are first class. Two stars only because they do have some products that I just can't get anywhere else. The rest of the store...so annoying. I've been shopping here fairly consistently since January. Not one time have I been greeted by an employee. Cashiers are RARELY friendly. They almost always look annoyed to be at work. There is just a major lack of customer service at this location. There are also products that they routinely run out of - so it seems as if someone isn't the best at maintaining stock. Lastly, the layout of the store is extremely frustrating. The produce section is so crowded that shoppers are constantly in the way of each other. I've been splitting my shopping btw here and Harris Teeter in Laurel. HT is not nearly as close but their customer service win, hands down. read more

Really would have 5 stars for Wegmans if not for my last visit on 1/22/13 around 3:30pm. All I got was a "shaved steak" sub which is really just roast beef heated up. I was ok with that. What I wasn't ok with was the little skinny dude with glasses who made my sub. I ordered the 14inch but this doofus only used about 7inches worth of meat on it. I ended up throwing out half of the sub roll because there was such little meat. Also the roll wasn't toasted nearly enough and ended up way too soggy. Every other sub I've ordered (Italian, meatball, etc) has been extremely good....of course the little skinny dude with glasses didn't make them. read more

Pizza is great, subs are great, don't sleep on either. Organic meats are reasonably priced. Great deli, great cheese area, pay by the pound food is decent, sushi bar, the list goes on. I have been going to the Wegmans location in Crofton, MD since it has opened. Unfortunately I don't live close to the Crofton location. When I need to drive to DC I always make a stop on my way home. Wegman stores have a european flare. Love the business of it and ALL the amazing foods and service they offer and provide.... I often call to make special requests and today was no exception..... I spoke to Anthony in the meat department pleading with him for an order of 6 Beef Wellingtons, no less...... MY FAVORITE.....and so easy to cook. They come prepared and I actually put them in my toaster oven if I am just making them for 2 people. Best grocery store ever. The variety and choice sets it apart from anything else, nothing comes close. Hot foods is like an eatery, Seafood Dept is like nearby Shorline Seafood, meat and deli choices are like a European market. Family pack prices beat BJs, SAMs and Costco. Other items much cheaper than Giant, Safeway and Shoppers. If the wife asks you for something specific and they have 10 choices use their free super fast WiFi and Facetime her to show the options. You will pay for ready to eat foods but you do everywhere else. Use the phone app to really get organized, learn the layout of the store and utilize their recipes. Staff is very friendly. Wegmans is such a great brand and really works to educate their customers on their food and cooking practices. This location is brand new and I noticed that they've been training their new staff at a neighboring Wegmans for the last month before the opening. Wegmans has so many positives to it! I love their buffet, sandwich shop, sushi area! You do not find these qualities in a grocery store usually. But.... It is very hard to find things in the store, and their produce section is awful. They do not have a wide selections of salad and they run out of vegetables frequently. The crackers are in the cAndy isle which is also in the organic area.. That's confusing! read more

My husband knows any trip to wegmans will be a long one for me. It's the grocery store equivalent of a "target run"- I want to browse every aisle to see all of their wonderful items. The bakery is incredible- I dream of their cheesecake and my husband can't resist their chocolate mousse cake. Their pizza is fantastic. Their cheese section is off the charts and they are always very helpful if you ask them to help put together a cheese platter or even just give advice on what cheeses and spreads they would recommend. When they first opened up they had great products and ready-to-cook food. Things have changed and on a few different occasions I have bought food that went bad quickly or it was bad upon purchase. I would be very careful when purchasing any cooked items or ready-to-cook food the quality has gone down significantly. My favorite grocery store is Wegman's and by a landslide! Every location I have been to is just fabulous! They are clean, have the nicest staff, and have a great selection of products (not to mention their products are fairly priced). Very good to excellent produce, meats, seafood and cheese selection. The organic section can't really compete with local organic markets in area except that it is convenient to have it with mainstream groceries. Definitely better organic selection than other large grocery chains. Flow of store is unusual. I.e. location of frozen sections are before non refrigerated/perishables. Easy to miss items do to arrangement of shelves. Staff is excellent and very helpful to locate items. I am also a bit disappointed with the regular grocery selection. The cafe has an amazing selection. Everything I have had there has been pretty good. Way too busy on the weekends! I have been in many Wegmans (for a few minor items like milk) when visiting people in other towns. I was excited to see one come to the area and the one stop shopping potential. I was less impressed when I actually tried to really shop. All that being said, I will definitely continue to shop there. However, I still will have to fill in the gaps of my shopping list elsewhere. read more
