Hands down this place has become my go to store. The quality is what you would expect from this chain. The sushi is always fresh, the food court is always organized and the people are fantastic to deal with. Dan is the guy I usually see when I'm going through the self checkout. The staff is willing to lend a hand when you need it. I like self checkout and once I got my lesson on how to put in the codes from the food court I'm all set. You'll find most items that other store won't like ghee butter and Matcha . I'll keep coming to this place because it meets all my requirements. read more

Wow! I feel this place honestly blows away any of our triangle grocery stores. Having said this, I've lived in more rural parts of the country, and have always felt the RDU grocery offerings were superior to any place I've ever lived. Here's a run down of this Wegmans: Pros: a) Upon walking in, there is a huge and attractive hot and cold buffet sold by weight. $9.49/pound b) The offerings on the buffet are better than I've seen for any grocery store. c) They have a nice variety of wings. No wait, Temperature hot, and high quality. d) Incredible vegetarian offerings. e) Wonderful Asian prepared foods, with very fresh and authentic vegetables. f) A decent selection of Tex-mex type offerings mixed into the hot bar. g) Outstanding (served cold) Salmon. h) Very clean bathrooms. i) Super close to I-95. j) Plenty of parking. k) Big screen TV with a dining room. Very comfortable seating. l) A nice coffee bar. Cons: a) Too much selection for one visit. b) A bit far from the Triangle (I understand Wegmans has two planned for us soon?) c) It's a double edged sword between excellent variety, but a footprint so big, it can be overwhelming. Simply Amazing ... Great Staff ... Great Atmosphere ... & its more than your average grocery store

Now that I live about 2 mins from Wegmans and have visited other grocery stores in the area, it's safe to say that Wegmans is the best grocery store, hands down. First of all, their prices aren't actually bad. In fact, a grocery store down the road that starts with "G" is much more overpriced. Wegmans offers a great variety of items, from your typical items which are reasonably priced, to specialty cheeses, a great organic section, an amazing hot food bar and cafe. I honestly can't think of anything NOT to love about Wegmans. I plan to move to the Perry Hall area next year and honestly I'll miss Wegmans so much! I may have to make the drive up here every now and then, cause they are totally worth it. read more

My wife said oh no, while I was saying Oh Yah!!! Why, because I love cheese, olives, and high end meats & fish. Oh, lets not forget the bakery too and their traditionally cooked Jewish style bagels. What is a Jewish style bagel you ask...it is a bagel that has been boiled prior to baking. It is that process that gives a real bagel its chewy texture. I love Panera and Einsteins (both with great bottomless coffee), but sometimes I just love a bagel like I used to get when I grew up in New Jersey or when I went to my entry Nursing program in Upstate New York. It was during my first nursing job in Syracuse, NY where I first learned about Wegmans and the endlessly seeming bounty of choices they offer. Cost is the major reason I give them 4 stars!! My wife and I have eaten at the cook to order Wegmans restaurant and we had a mixed experience. I had the cheeseburger, mm that burger was good, not the best, but by far one of the better in the area. My burger was served with a side of fresh steamed and seasoned greenbeans...very yummy!! My wife had the Naan bread pizza and we found that instead of a savory dinner experience, the pizza was too sweet between the highly caramelized onions and balsamic reduction and would have been better as an appetizer instead of a main course. In addition we ordered a side of onion rings. These rings were fried to a crispy crunch with a very tender onion inside, oh they were YUM!!! We had pizza by the slice, and it was really good. It had a nice, not great, crust. We liked it and will get the pizza again when in the area. I would not drive to Wegman's for their pizza, like I would for Fortunato Brothers pizza in Edgewood. We also tried their bountiful food bar ($8.49/lb) and enjoyed a wide variety of foods. What we did not like, was the fried foods sit on a steam table...Okay STEAM and CRUNCH do not work together...as the crust becomes mushy. We noted the same thing with the Honey Dijon Wings, the moist sticky sauce rendered the crispy skin soggy. Now the Old Bay Wings are still crispy, but they needed more Old Bay...not enough bite to them. What I did not like was the Carolina Ribs. They were tender enough, but the flavor was just lacking to me. I have my own smoker and I expect something that is BBQ'd to have flavor and these did not. Their pulled pork on the other hand was quite delicious. Deserts... we've enjoyed two of them several times now. The first: their Bread Puddin with Whiskey sauce... OMG the best I have had outside of New Orleans. I hate cooked raisins, and most bread pudding has them, but Wegman's Bread Puddin is without raisins and it is the BOMB!!!!! (yes I know I spelt Puddin wrong...LOL) The second is the Cannoli Cheese Cake... Oh wow, scrumptious and delightfully sinful. This is a new take on cheese cake which just melts in your mouth, just the right amounts of sweet, savory, and creamy texture all rolled up in one. Both of these deserts are worth driving to Wegmans just to get the deserts!!! Fish: I love fresh, never frozen fish. I also like the fact that the seafood department has knowledgeable staff that can assist you with your needs and give you hints on cooking techniques. The fresh swordfish they had over the last 4 weeks was wonderful. I picked up four 1/2 inch swordfish steaks for pan searing and they were absolutely wonderful. Cheese: At the specialty cheese department you can taste absolutely anything you want that they have. You can taste and compare the multitude of Bries or any other cheese you have your heart set on to try. Just be forwarned...this department is dangerous...I spent close to $100 on cheese in the last month...LOL!!! Pharmacy: good service and a great introduction program. You can get up to $20 in bonus coupons (times 5 or upto $100) to be redeemed within 30 days for transfering or bringing in a new Rx. Or like today, my wife got her Flu shot (24.99), and we received our second $20 coupon). Cost: Yes Wegman's is expensive, but at the same time you are also able to save. I'm a military member and have commissary privileges, and there are things I will only buy there because of cost savings. If you shop their loss-leaders, specials, and for those hard to find anywhere else items you will be fine. The coffee is decent, and you can get refills for 50 cents. Totally speechless. I've been impressed with this market for a while, but today...I almost wept. I hadn't signed up for the club card until today, and I'm really sorry I didn't. When I signed up they gave me a reusable bag, coupons, and a bottle of basing oil! Thanks guys!! But my emotions were touched at the sushi counter (of course). Any sushi snob would turn their nose down on market sushi. In fact, I usually vomit a little in my mouth when I see people picking through premade sushi at markets. Gross. But I came at lunch on a quest to buy everything I couldn't find at my local market for a recipe I'm attempting next week and walked past the sushi counter. I spied scallops in the case, $1 each. Hmm. Might as well try it for $1. Now, before I go further, for background, I've been on a scallop kick for the last few weeks. In the last 2 weeks, I've probably eaten scallop sashimi 9-10 of those days. But that's expensive and I hate my palette for being so demanding. So when I ran across this bargain basement scallop sashimi, I was quite skeptical. I figured I'd plop $5..the equivalent to one order anywhere else and try it. Long story short, it was AMAZING. And the pieces where BIG cuts. Now, there is a down side to this...but it still gets five stars. They didn't cut the muscle off the scallop. WTF? That's freakin egregious in my opinion. I mean, you ALWAYS cut the muscle off...even when cooking. So it's clear they don't always have the most competent people, but dude it was still so good after pulling the muscle off myself. Had I known they shucked oysters as well at the time I ate, I would have picked up a few to try. This place ticks so many boxes, it's insane. Wegman deserves a medal. This place rocks. If I could give this Wegmans more than 5 stars....I would! What an AMAZING store!. I waked in for a soda, and was awestruck as soon as I entered. The store itself is HUGE, and that alone is great....but that was nothing compared to the rest. What is...the rest? you ask?..... An enormous salad bar with more items than I have ever seen, a sandwich shop that made orders fresh....and then there is the fresh bread area....and the hot food bar....all in the store!! I am/not a fan of hot food bars because they can be....well...less than fresh. This hot bar was filled with fresh selections of chicken,and fish, veggies of all kinds, and classics like meatloaf. The staff I saw were very friendly and helpful....smiling ....yet not annoying. I got a nice sized salad, and it was delishous. I had never heard of Wegmans before, but I can not wait to go to another one. I was pressed for time, or I would have taken pictures........I will the next time.... and there WILL be a nextime!!! Wegman's, a store I've never heard about before the past year (I'm from the west coast), but with all the hype I wanted to come check it out. Armed with my Wegman's shoppers card I came with my husband to the grand opening and it was a battle ground. Cars everywhere, cops everywhere, no parking in sight. We both gave up and decided to come on another day. Two days later we went to check it out since we needed to buy some tomatoes. The place was not as busy as before (thank god), and once we stepped inside we were left breathless. It was a combination food court & market in one with tons of specialty foods & fresh produce. Some of the prices are a bit high, but the variety is breathtaking. We came back two days later to try the food court and got the food that you collect & pay by the pound. The food was okay, nothing great. Place was very crowded but there is plenty of seating. The computerized soda machine was extra cool. Overall great place, I would definitely come here to find some of the hard to locate items & for its huge cheese bar. read more

Over priced buffet food is ok but the prices are not worth the quality of food. There is obviously a convenience factor with being able to get hot food while you are grocery shopping. We drive from White Marsh to shop at this Wegmans :) My family tends to eat a lot of gluten free food items due to dietary restrictions & the Giant right next door to my place offers a small selection of such items. But Wegmans, man oh man, they do the specialty-natural-this-and-that-free-food-explorer some good! Wegmans is just very organized & offers an extensive variety on anything you may be looking for. And the people working there always seem eager to help. Our routine, once arriving, is parking to the far left of the building & entering through the Market Café. The Market Café serves food until 8PM & organize their buffet-like food options by different regions of the world. We like to grab a few tasty yummies before venturing further into the store as to stick with the golden rule of "never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach!" (it's a good rule to live by). They also offer a huge seating area with a kids corner. Very convenient :) My son especially loves the train set that chugs along above our heads near the rear center of the store. Very cute. And if you're on a healthy kick... do yourself a favor & avoid walking past the bakery. I drool & instantly begin to daydream as to what all of those delicious looking cookies, pastries, & cakes must taste like. I have had Wegmans celebration cakes before. Wegmans is a magical place. Groceries, fast food, even a pharmacy where I procure my medications. I'm here pretty much weekly roaming around the isles. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help you find something. The bathrooms are always clean and it's nice to see the presence of instacart shoppers so there's that option for people that can't make it out or opt to stay home. It's a big step up from the small bodega shops I used to buy food from when I lived in NYC. read more

Wegmans has had the worst responses to covid of all. They waited last to add safety precautions, don't have any special services for the disabled and when I couldn't handle their long wait and had to leave they watched me fall on the ground and had no trouble ignoring me and taking my cart from me to return all of the things I couldn't stand long enough to purchase leaving me injured, without groceries and hurt in their parking lot. This is shameful behavior from a store owned by people with PLENTY of money on hand to do better. read more

I absolutely loved this store! I am a very honest reviewer and honestly reflect upon businesses based on my opinion. Check out some of my other reviews. I enjoyed shopping here, they had a large variety of international cuisine that I like to cook. Most other grocery stores do not carry Ackee, Bammie, Yuca and jamiacan products that are hard to locate. The store is always clean and the staff is more than friendly and welcoming and more than eager to assist you. There is always a ton of employees walking around. They seem happy too. I love that you can get fresh cut meats, and seafood. I am not one who likes to keep frozen food in my home and i like to cook the meat the day i purchaser it. They made my life very convenient especially with their hours and my work schedule. Unfortionately i have had to stop shopping here do to moral reasons. This company still supports donald trump and still sells his shitty wine at its virginia stores and I am sorry Wegmans, that was a poor decision on your behalf..... So sadly I have had to take my 800.00 I spend on groceries a month to another brand. I highly recommend you discontinue the brand and I encourage everyone to boycott this company until they make the necessary changes. read more

It's super hard to find any brands that aren't wegmans. I spent 15 mins looking for Philadelphia cream cheese because it was NOWHERE near an area it should be. It was hidden but of course all the wegmans brands are so easy to find. I than get my lunch meat home and it was bad. The package even said best if used my today's date. So why would you cut me meat that was only good for one day. And to top it off the only thing I really loved from your brand you just completely changed the ingredients. You guys made AMAZING pizzas that you would pop in the oven to cook. Now you changed it and they are now already cooked and you just heat them and it doesn't taste good at all. What a great place after living in Europe for 13 yrs!! One negative - sticker shock!! Regardless of what anyone says, some things are not just overpriced, they are 250% above wholesale. Example - some breads: Maryland isn't experiencing some secret dough shortage! Some folks like me are in the business and when you charge above 400% of the cost of making it (adding in wages, etc.,), it's a total rip off! Some things here are within price range or a slightly bit more. Which is just fine with the high standards but for heavens sake, I found one dog food 5 times higher than the grocery store down the street. Overall, it's a great place but other than some quality meats, fish and produce, I won't be buying everyday items there. Go there for certain must have and organics .... Skip the common stuff and drive a few miles. You'll still save tons even wrt to time and gas. read more

Amazing. A beautiful and diverse selection of fresh produce. I can find more obscure items here when I can't find them elsewhere in the Abingdon/Bel Air area. A wide offering of grass fed/range free meats that taste great and are fairly priced (I recently purchased Wegmans grass-fed beef for $3.99/lb). A gourmet cheese section that is second to none in Harford County. An eatery that caters to all. It's not wise to grocery shop while hungry, so drop in for a bite before you hit the aisles with your cart. The hot bar features delicious Italian, Asian, Indian and American cuisines. Pizza and burgers. Samosas and tikka-masala. General Tso's and Spring rolls. Chicken parm and spaghetti. The salad bar is fresh and varied. And if you need to satisfy a sushi craving in a pinch, you won't be disappointed. In sum, this place gets 5 stars for the following: -Allows for convenient one stop shopping (they carry everything, it seems) -Clean and beautiful -Wide/diverse selection -Fresh food -Helpful staff -Fair prices -An amazing smart phone app that identifies the aisle/department location of an item should you not be able to find it. I am always, ALWAYS impressed with Wegmans. Between the staff, the selection, the prices and the variety, I could live in this store. Probably literally. I find it useful that it isn't convenient for me to go here weekly, since the closest one to me is 20 minutes up the road. Otherwise I'd be destitute. My favorite grocery store in Harford County! It is not the closest to my house, but I will willingly drive the additional fifteen minutes just to shop at Wegman's on a nice weekend afternoon. The shopping carts have retractable seat belts for your little ones as well as a cup holder for your drink (should be in the front rather than the back, but oh well) and the store is huge. They have your standard groceries of course, but there is also a cafe with made to order food of all kinds, a large gluten-free section, fresh sushi, a beauty area with homemade bath soaps and sugar scrubs and aisles and aisles that I could just wander up and down all afternoon. Most people seem to be complaining of high prices, but I actually find that their prices are pretty comparable, if not cheaper than other grocery stores in the area. For example, chicken breasts are $1.99 a pound compared to $2.99 a pound at Costco. Avacados in the club pack are 4 for $4 (5 for $5.50 at Costco) and fresh ears of corn are 4 for $1 (3 for $1 at my local grocery store). Some things are more expensive however. For example, there are plenty of meats stuffed with crab, spinach or cheese and prepared foods, but I think the prices are more for convenience for those that either do not have time to cook or may not know how. To save money, get the Wegmans brand items instead of the national brand names. You really can't taste the difference. In fact, I think the Wegmans brand Greek yogurt is better than Chobani. The bakery section is absolutely wonderful and the treats always look so delicious. I would go into a sugar coma if I bought and ate everything I wanted to in this section. I think they even do wedding cakes. The cupcakes are heavenly. Wegmans coupons are sent to the house pretty regularly and can save you a few bucks here and there. Wide variety and niche items. The pricing on most items is fair, but sometimes the items are overpriced as Wegmans is more of a shopping experience than value in and out store. I love coming here as my partner is Korean and I grab cooking items in a pinch rather than traveling all the way to H-mart or Lotte Plaza. Always clean though and an overall nice store. read more

I gave 4 stars... a good rating...so why don't I feel good about Wegman's. I think it's a matter of expectations. Wegman's has such a god reputation that you expect more from them than other grocery stores. And they don't always deliver better than others. I love Wegmans for certain things: the bakery, the breads, the butcher and high end meats, the guaranteed low prices on often used items like chicken breast. Also love the grab it quick refrigerator in the front of the store for that dash-in for milk or eggs or cheese! I think they are so-so on other things: produce quality, ability to get custom cuts of meat, lack of certain brands that are popular in this area but are not in Wegman's supply chain as they come from a different region, deli meats are all Wegman's brand and lower quality than BoarsHead or similar brands, plus they pre-cut all their meats. Where they fall apart is in customer service. Expectations are high, but they don't delivery anything more than their competitors here. Couple examples. purchased a box of clementines. turns out they had been dyed so heavily that the pith was bright, unnatural orange. Of course they took them back, but I asked to speak with the produce manager to ask that they check those things in the future. Not only did he not understand that concept (that they should be pre-screening rather than simply let the customer have to return it), but he was quite rude and even suggested that I did something to them to make it happen! Excuse me? I was forced to go through self serve checkout last night. Every item I scanned and placed in the bag was not done to the satisfaction of the machine. I was too fast to bag...too slow to bag...too fast to remove the bag. the system is a joke and always has been. Asked a manager to stand with me while I attempted to check out - to see the problems everyone was having. It was funny, 4 people struggling with the system, the machine repeating the commands incessantly, a manger trying to pretend all is well. Her suggestion? Nothing she can do, I need to fill out a card. read more

I'll start by saying I am a huge wegmans fan. I usually go to the hunt valley location which I absolutely love. I was on 95 and decided to stop at the wegmans in Abington. I wish I didn't! The customers, the store, and the items were completely disgusting! The store was completely dirty and u organized throughout along with not having 95% of the items that the hunt valley location has. The employees and the clientele were not what I am used too when it comes to a wegmans. I'll leave it at that. I have been visiting Wegmans in Hunt Valley on a bi-monthly basis for a few years and was excited to see a Wegmans being built in Abingdon, MD. Wegmans is absolutely a different type of grocery store than was previously found in Harford County. Their selection is absoutely second to none and their service is top notch. I walk through their bakery every time I visit. They have excellent bagels and fresh made desserts. Their seafood and butcher department are always well stocked and staffed with individuals who are willing to answer questions and prepare your food to your liking. The selection and variety they offer is substantially larger than any other grocery chain in the area. Their standard daily prices on the common proteins I use are better than their competition and actually beat Costco by a fair margin. If you are willing to purchase in their value packs (5-6lbs or more) you can save quite a bit on their grocery bill. I have not been able to find chicken, pork, and ground beef at lower daily prices than their value packs. I continue to purchase my steaks by the 8-10lb loin at Costco because I enjoy portioning them myself to meet my particular needs. The cheese department at Wegmans is nothing short of incredible and is also well stocked with both a variety of products and personnel willing to answer questions. I have been nothing less than pleased with the quality of products I have received. Since the grand opening has passed, the store has quieted down and there is plenty of parking (even on the weekends). The crowds are not nearly as bad as the first month and it is a pleasure to shop at this Wegmans location. read more

This review is for the Coffee Bar. First off let me say I am totally and 130% a Wegmans aficionado. I love the place. I drove 35 minutes out of my way to go weekly before I moved and since I still now go a few times a month and drive an hour. I look forward to one opening in Crofton. That said we just left a road trip up to the brand new Wegmans in BelAir to see the new one. That's how big a fan we are. We liked the store layout and options. It's gorgeous. HOWEVER we wanted a Wegmans coffee. That was our mistake. We've had it many times so we knew what to expect. We DID NOT get the Wegmans experience. The girl at the register today (Dec 23 at 12:20) was friendly. I poured my Pumpkin Pie coffee and realized the cup was not hot in my hand. I put a finger in it and there was no heat. I walked to the side counter and asked a woman who appeared to be the manager (in a different color uniform) if she could nuke it or I could pour it out and get a hot coffee. She said "hmmmm" and looked at me skeptically. She said "no--it's the temperature it's supposed to be" while walking away from me. She was heading to a thermometer which she plunks into my coffee cup. I was flabbergasted. She then said "it's 130 degrees and they are supposed to be 130. If you want to walk to the end of the store you can Microwave it." Rather than allowing me to pour it out and try a fresh coffee (and replacing the lukewarm coffee for other customers) she was too busy trying to prove me wrong. I have no idea either where that thermometer was stored so how unsanitary was that for me?? She offered no apology and didn't offer to replace my coffee. We were stunned. The coffee drink my friend ordered from behind the counter was hot, with steam coming off. Mine didn't even absorb the sugar stirred into it. I can't express how disappointed I was. I'd just been raving about the customer service at Wegmans. We were all shocked. I tossed the cold coffee. I will continue to patronize Wegmans of course but wow was that a poor customer service experience. read more
