For a very long time, I avoided going into this Walmart because it wasn't a super center. Then one day I needed something quick and decided to go in this Walmart, and since then I've been hooked. The store is always well stocked & well kept. The staff has always been pleasant and willing to help. They recent redid the parking lot to include plenty of stop signs to ensure safety! I love this Walmart! It's so nice and clean. I went there to get swim shoes. It's sad to see how much it has changed from associates in the front to straight self service but it's super efficient. This is probably one of the most subpar walmarts in the area. Customer service isn't great, their bathrooms are normally a mess, the way the departments (meaning random tables for clearance that do not pertain to that department) is laid out, interaction with some of the managers, limited amount of groceries...the list continues. There is a male manager at this location that is pretty rude. You ask a question and he is always either sarcastic or just simply doesn't answer your questions without attitude. The female manager seems so nice and willing to work with you through issues. She is always pleasant with her employees as well. When you are on the sales floor and ask a question there's several employees that aren't helpful and some just don't take the initiative to actually find the item instead of saying, "if you didn't see it..then we don't carry it". Well I personally tell them I need assistance and normally when I stand my ground they tag along in the search. If you are coming here for groceries....depending on what you need it's a very limited array of items. I have also notice since they are so limited this one has some items that are priced higher than some of the other Walmarts in this county. Cereals, chips, and sodas are pretty easy to come by here but if you are looking for eggs, meat, or special ingredients since as sour cream for example...it's best to go to another Walmart or store. The layout of this store is really strange at times. You will have food clearance in the middle aisle of the men's and women clothing....that's a hair scratcher for me. I have came across items being in the wrong spot a hundred times and if you try to have an employee verify which one...they told me the price under it which I didn't match the description...so I took it up front and let the manager know...all I was notified is sometimes they just place things to fill the spot...WHAT?!? No if you place it in the wrong space the the price is lower it appears that's what the customer is getting it for especially since your employees did it. Well enough about this craziness. All in all I will not frequent this location unless it's last resort. read more

I never thought I'd ever give a wal-mart 5 stars....and maybe I just lucked up on a good day, but this was bar none the cleanest, nicest wal-mart I've ever shopped at. All i can say is location, location, location. I didn't see one weirdo, hoodrat, or 400-pound man in a Hoveround. I visited on a Tuesday morning around 11am, and there were no crowds. The shelves were fully stocked, racks of wal-marts finest clothes were neatly arranged, and at least two staff members offered to help me find something. I shop there several times a week, but this by far was the worst experience. I was followed from the time I walked through the door, down every aisle I shopped, and had the most unpleasant self checkout experience. It was an uncomfortable shopping experience, period. I just wanted to get in and leave. I understand that theft may be an issue, but this is not the way to handle it. I will be shopping at Aberdeen or Fallston from now on, both are out of the way. To begin, I am not that fond of Walmarts to begin with. This one I just do not car for at all, to be honest. The stock is limited and is not a full service walmart. It is an older location and the age is starting to show. The staff is not ampt up at all. Very emotionless and very few and far between. Unlike other locations that tend to have tons of employees. The location is clean and does have what a standard walmart would have. IF you are used to the supercenter i would not go into this one. It will leave you wanting more. This Walmart pales in comparison to the super Walmart in Aberdeen. The lines are always ridiculously long, the customer service is less than stellar, and the stock is much less than that of the Aberdeen store. Not to mention the awful traffic to get in and out of the Constant Friendship shopping center. read more

It is tough to visit this Walmart location when there is a much larger Walmart in Aberdeen. The traffic getting in and out of Constant Friendship and the tiny food section in this Walmart makes me look at other locations. Otherwise the store is clean and on par with other Walmart locations. I've have intensely disliked Walmart since moving you here. This store has the distinction of being the only store where I've nearly got into a fistfight with another customer. Pros: + Low prices. Keep in mind though that most of the employees are also on public assistance, so your paying for it in high taxes. Cons: + The isles are so narrow that two carts cannot get past each other in some of them. If they're on one of those motorized carts (Why is it only fat people in these things?), forget it, pick another isle. This has improved since 2002, but the scars of that period of time will never heal. (Probably the result of a HBS study released around 2000 that stated the most efficient store was one that maximized shelf space, completely ignoring the fact that if humans can't get down the isles, they can't buy stuff. Thankfully that study is now relegated to the rubbish heap of weird trivia.) + Clientele is rude, lower socioeconomic class. + Never seen a Walmart that was clean. Always stuff spilled in the isle, disheveled product, dirt and grime everywhere. To be honest, I've been in mechanic shops that were cleaner. + Product is subpar. Despite toting that they carry "Made in USA" goods, most of the items sold are cheap Chinese knock-off items that will be in your local landfill within a year. read more

There are three walmarts in this area and this one is the worst. It's pretty run down and the traffic is awful. It's really worth taking the extra time to go to either the fallston or Aberdeen location as they are much better in every way as far as walmarts go. read more

This has always been our Walmart of choice. We have always had good experiences shopping here. I find what I need easily, with adequate quality and often preferred name brands on most items. The prices are reasonable, the store is clean and well organized, the shelves are well stocked, and the staff is for the most part, very friendly and helpful. I feel compassion for them in consideration of the demands placed on them, for wages that most of the complainers and whiners would not get out of bed for. These are good people with good attitudes in most cases. As for the customers being of a "Lower socioeconomic class" as one person alleged . . . I can only say that these people are snobs. Yes, there are people who are not as financially fortunate as some of us . . . But I've never had a problem with anyone, or even witnessed a problem unless some snob is rude or abusive. That will likely cause a problem very quickly. These are life hardened people who have struggled most of their lives, and they rightly demand the respect they have earned. So don't come here if you expect a Rodeo Drive shopping experience. Put on your $2,000 suit and go shop in the fools retail shops. At least you won't be disappointed having to tolerate normal people. I happen to like our local Walmarts, and enjoy my experience every time. But then, I don't look down my nose at anyone, staff or fellow customer. I find a smile from everyone I greet with a smile, and I understand what a hard day of work is too, even though I'm fortunate enough to be retired. Keep up the good work folks! read more

This is the place to go for selection. Wile it doesn't have a large food area like the newer Walmarts in the area, this location makes up for it with their selection of other products. You pretty much have at least 4-5 options to pick from for each item. The only downfall of this store is access. Even with the new improvements to the new 24/924/Tollgate interchange, this place can be a nightmare to get in and out of. I will be sad to see this place close if/when the new location is built closer to Bel Air. read more

This morning I purchased a bike online and was going to pick it up at the Abingdon, MD local store. Since I never got the e-mail telling me that it was ready to be picked up, I called the local store and was told, "Yeah, well, our count is wrong. We don't have that bike here. And until somebody fixes it, the count will continue to be wrong." I was told to cancel the order and call Walmart.com for help. Meanwhile, I checked my bank account and, yep, I was charged for the bike they don't have. I called Walmart.com and was told they cannot place another order or I will be charged twice. In addition, it would take up to 5 business days for my funds (the charge for the bike they don't have) to be released. I told Christy that I wanted to speak with a supervisor. After nearly 5 minutes on hold, Christy told me that her supervisor was in a meeting and would return my call. I said, "You mean that he's too busy to speak with a disgruntled customer?" She said, "I didn't say that. I said he's in a meeting and will call you." Great customer service. We'll see if I get a call back from Mr. or Ms. Supervisor. I'm not holding my breath. BTW: I found the bike about $10 more expensive, but same bike. Guess where I'm buying the bike from! read more

I wish I could give a zero but I can't. I went in looking for a specific item and I couldn't locate it. I asked an associate for help and was told that he doesn't work in the department and he walked away. Not once did he offer to find someone to help me find what I needed.
