FYI, they only carry marinades seasonally. All in all it's a decent place to shop for groceries. They don't usually have people on the floor to help you if you have questions so hopefully you can figure it out. Some reminders are it cost $.25 cents to get a cart and once you return it you will get it back. Make sure you have a bag to carry you items if you decide you don't want a cart because they don't have bags to pack your food up in. They do have empty boxes around the building that you can use but it can get heavy. I would recommend this place to anyone that is trying to do a quick shopping trip that doesn't involve veggies or fruit. Great Service at Giant Pharmacy!…read more I had such a great experience with the pharmacy staff at Giant and wanted to recognize them for truly going above and beyond. I was looking for a specific prescription that can be difficult to find, and the pharmacist took the time to check and was able to help me. When my doctor sent the prescription over, she noticed that the dosage didn't look correct. Instead of simply filling it, she personally contacted my doctor's office to verify it and make sure everything was right. I really appreciated that level of attention and care. When I checked out, the pharmacist even took extra time to sign me up for a program that would earn me additional points and discounts through the store. She explained everything thoroughly, never made me feel rushed, and genuinely seemed to care about helping me. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. It's not often you receive this level of personal service anymore, and I was incredibly impressed. Thank you to the pharmacist and the entire Giant Pharmacy team for taking such good care of me. Your extra effort did not go unnoticed!

Geresbeck's has the best sales in town when it comes to seafood. The shrimp is always cheap & they steam on site. On a recent visit while waiting for my shrimp to be steamed, I took a walk around the market to see what else I could buy. Geresbeck's has a great speciality ice cream section. They had my favorite Taharka Brother's honey graham ice cream and some other tasty choices. I ended up in the bakery department and saw SO MANY delicious looking baked goods from a peanut butter Boston crème cake to banana pudding parfaits to mini cheesecakes. Their doughnuts are huge and made with the love of someone that loves to bake. I took quite a bit of photos showcasing their selections. As I walked through the store, I started to get a little hungry for a snack. I came back around to the deli/hot foods department and saw a mountain of tasty looking western fries. Now, western fries are extremely popular in Baltimore and the surrounding counties. I've had my share of western fries from the center of the city, to Brass Hen in Eastpoint mall, to even Royal Farms. All were delicious, BUT THESE FRIES WERE ABSOLUTE LOVE AT FIRST BITE!!! They were crunchy like a piece of fried chicken and tender inside like a fluffy baked potato. Omg, I can taste them right now. They were so, so amazingly yummy. If you love potatoes, or any variation of fries, you'd LOVE these. I actually may go back very soon for a fix. I didn't need salt, pepper, ketchup, NOTHING. Now, for my only gripe about Geresbeck's is that I wouldn't necessarily buy goods outside of the seafood, bakery or specialty items. I found that other items in the store, unless on sale, are higher priced than other grocery stores. But they have to counterbalance that with the affordable seafood prices, right? Anyways, if you're in the area, stop by and pick you up some delicious doughnuts and western fries while you're there. You have the option of walking 1/4 mile to the apple orchards or taking the tractor. We opted to walk. The orchard was populated but not super busy - TONS of room for social distancing. Most of the apples were off the trees, but plenty available on the ground. We found a few trees with apples still on them. They had a couple dozen different types to choose from. Just a fun, socially distant time. We took the tractor back and that was cute/fun. You sit on crates. It drops you off at the store, where you pay. It was here that things got a bit crowded with a lack of distancing. There is a flat fee of $1/lb of apples, with a minimum charge of $10. Would definitely go back next year - perhaps earlier to pick more apples off the trees.

But... there's some serious room for improvement. The checkout experience can be a total nightmare - endless lines with one or two lines open. Very frustrating. What's even more so is when lines abruptly close as you walk up! There's never anyone restocking, so when meats and produce run out, that's it until the next day. (They really could learn from the Trader Joe's business model). However, I did witness something promising this evening... THREE cashiers on duty at the same time! Let's hope that feedback from the community steers their service in a good direction.

The only thing that stays consistent about this places the clean salad bar and the fresh hot food! I've always liked Giant, I'm partial to Giant because I used to work for Giant.
