We stayed on Jekyll Island for 3 nights, and we were here for two of them! This is exactly the type of Irish pub we love. We came here for drinks, and the drinks were exactly what we were hoping for. The beer menu was expansive (with a few rotating taps), and the cocktail menu had something for everyone. We had a few Irish Coffees to give us some energy, a they perked us right up. We also had the Island Mules, which would be perfect on a hot beach day. The food was just ok, which is why I'm giving it a 4 rather than a 5. It is your typical bar food. We got the boneless wings, which were basically just chicken nuggets. The onion rings were great. We also got a "basket" of fries for $8, but it was not nearly enough fries to charge $8 for. Our waitress/bartender, Myranda, was awesome. I would give her a 5 star review!! She had great personality, was quick with our orders, and was just overall a very hard worker. Great location in Jekyll Island, right when you get off the beach - there's a spot with food and drink readily available. The Good: Location is great on "Main Street" in Jekyll Island The Bad: Sense of urgency with the Hostess and Waitress that we had. The kids liked the frisbee they received with their kids meal. I had the shepherds pie, it was served (temperature) hot and with a cute Irish flag. ****IMPORTANT**** The kids nuggets were tossed in barbecue sauce instead of the sauce being on the side. We didn't expect that and our 6 year old didn't eat. Had our server been more attentive and came in to check with us during our meal we would have loved to place another order, but we didn't see our server until it was time for the check - but, where were you when we needed you to bring us normal kid nuggets? read more

A great place with a great atmosphere, inside and out, and most of all the best food we had on our entire trip! MiL had the crab dip and it was delicious, we all thoroughly enjoyed the rich, cream-cheesy, taste. The crackers were the overall favorite to dip with. I chose the build a burger and went with the standard build but added mayo, jalapenos, and Guinness onions. Oh, my word it was mouth-watering. After 3 days of mediocre food, it was just what I needed. The fries were great too. Hobbs and his father split a shepherd's pie (which is not the size to split, but both had a large breakfast and weren't too hungry. The shepherd's pie was a hit as well. It was beef, not lamb and we all loved it. Being from across the pond, myself, this is a staple at our home, so kudos to the chef for that. I will add, we did have an issue while we were dining and the staff handled it efficiently and discreetly which is why they get 5 shiny stars. A place to steer clear. Where to begin, after hearing recommendations from many to dine here, we finally gave it a try. Came in at 1pm on a Tuesday, the host was on his phone took about 30 seconds to notice us. After we got sat, it took 10 minutes to get our drinks. We order a burger which was burnt to a crisp after ordering it medium. A salad that was drenched in dressing and wings that were cold and tough. The saving grace of the meal was the bread pudding. Great little place in the middle of the beach plaza on Jekyll Island. We usually stop at a place right on the bike trail and right on the water. It was way too crowded and we were starving. Found great parking, walked a little bit and found the Wee Pub. Couple of original Guiness. Couple of beers for my wife and daughter. Great crab dip appetizer. My family got the fish and chips. Went to Wee Pub Beach in October. They were very busy and we opted to sit at the bar. Servers/ Bartenders were very friendly but service was slow, which seemed to be due to lack of staff. We went here because we saw they had fish and chips on the menu. Once seated we learned that the fish they are using is Swai. The reason for this post is that I have an issue with a "Pub" that serves fish and chips but is using Swai. If you don't know; Swai is a bottom dwelling fish often harvested from heavily polluted water and considered to be one that should be avoided. It was shocking to me that in a costal town, a pub themed restaurant would opt for this on their menu. Needless to say we were very disappointed. I then opted for the Rueben. Our food took about 40 minutes to arrive. The bread on my Rueben was soggy and my daughter's soup arrived cold. I could have looked past the Swai issue but overall it just was not a good experience. I do feel that lack of staffing played a part in our not so great experience. But this is not a place I could recommend at this time. read more

We wanted a casual meal after our bike ride around the island & the Wee Pub seemed like a hopping spot. We got the last table open before the wait list started. When fellow bikers showed up the staff was very accommodating to add them to our table. I started with the loaded baked potato soup - very good!! Creamy, hot, very cheesy and flavorful. My wife ordered the Rueben - she thought it was delicious - corned beef was thick cut & flavorful- bread was crisp & toasty. I ordered the Shepard's pie. Theirs is made with ground beef (not lamb) which was seasoned nicely & tossed with really nice crisp peas (not mushy). . The potatoes were outstanding - whipped smooth & creamy. It came with a side of gravy which was a good idea - you could make it as gravy covered as you wanted or not. Friends ordered bangers & mash, fish & chips, & nachos. Each enjoyed theirs. The specialty bread pudding looked really good but we were too full to try. Great stop - would go back! read more

We were here June 12th &13th. Kaden took care of us after a long day. We couldn't get in at the Reserve so we figured we would give the wee pub a shot. What a great call! There was an hour wait to eat inside as they were social distancing tables, and props to the servers and Kaden for dealing with the "people" who got angry because they didn't care and acted like fools. No wait at the bar so we took our food to go, but not before we had a couple of drinks. (MAD props to the Purple Turtle. It's like a grape jolly rancher/Popsicle converted to an outstanding drink) . My husband loved the nachos and I loved the fish and chips , GREAT seasonings! We did go back the next day too . We will go again as we live in Savannah and love Jekyll Island. read more

So this place is pretty good. I wasn't expecting a lot because even though I LOVE Jekyll Island, it's not exactly a culinary hot spot. This cute little place does a good job of looking like a pub even though it's in a newish shopping center. The beer list isn't extensive, but they do have a few local brews, which are always interesting to try. The Jekyll Hop Dang Diggity was a winner. I got a turkey melt and my husband got shrimp tacos. Pineapple on a turkey melt doesn't sound like it should work, but believe me, it does. And these tacos tasted like sushi somehow. I'm not quite sure what sort of voodoo was going on, but there you go. Quite yummy all around. We walked in expecting to just get some calories and walked out actually quite pleased and pretty full. My friends and I had a great time at the Wee Pub last night! We are on the island to celebrate our friend's birthday and wanted good food for our celebration. We got there around 8 on a Saturday and had no problem being seated for the 8 of us. They had football games on their TVs as well so bonus! Our server was great! We ordered some drinks and fried mozzarella sticks while we were deciding on dinner. The drinks were good except the Pinot noir. The cheese sticks were great. I got the fish and chips. It was really good and huge portions! I couldn't eat my second fish. The build your burger was good but another friend got the black and bleu burger and it was amazing. A few of us tried it and we all loved it! I couldn't get a pic before it was eaten! The ahi tuna salad was delicious! The wings were great as well as the sauce. The Phillips cheesesteak was good. The sweet potato fries were good until you got to the ones touching the plate. The sandwich juice got to them and they got all soggy. The fried shrimp plate was really good and the shrimp were huge! The ice cream sundae was good. But the best was the Jameson cheesecake! Omg! It was so hard to share! If you don't get anything else get this!! *The water did taste a little funny. Very tasty food and decent service. We started with the crab dip with house made tortilla chips. It was served hot and had a great crab flavor. For an entree I had the black and bleu sirloin. It's not a big steak but it had great combination of flavors. The champ (Irish style mashed potatoes) were savory. Instead of the vegetable side, I upgraded to the beer-battered onion rings. They were saved by the unique BBQ dipping sauce. They did not have a crunch and I'm not a fan of the Guinness flavor, but the sauce was a sweet and tangy BBQ with just a hint of mustard that paired perfectly with the rings. My wife even stole some to put on her turkey melt sandwich and that sauce really enhanced it she said. For dessert we had the pecan bread pudding with ice cream and it was delicious. The pecan flavor came across well and wasn't overpowered by just sweet. The rich whipped cream was an excellent accent. read more

Our first night on JI and we didn't realize how early things close. Found this little pub as a last resort, but turned out to be a nice experience. The music was great, loved the leprechaun house, beer was excellent and cold, and the food was very good. Service was very friendly. It was packed but we were able to sneak in with outdoor seating. We were in town for a conference and stayed at the Westin. The Wee Pub is right there on the corner so we thought we would check it out. It was late on a Wednesday and there was a gentleman singing and playing the guitar which was very nice. My husband had Fish and chips and they looked great. He said it was delicious. We also splurged and shared their bread pudding with caramel and sugar. It was amazing. We returned tonight and had the half sandwich and salad. My turkey melt was excellent as was his Ruben.
