Horrible place , horrible workers. Place was dingy. Ceilings were leaking . Two of the counter workers sat there and stuffed there faces. Waitresses looked dingy and unclean . I mean who wants to be served food like that? I sent my food back twice , so obviously the cooks are horrible as well. This is our family go-to diner. Practically half the price as the diners on the Jerome end of Bedford Park. Some things are better than others (the sauce on the Italian dishes is not very Italian, and I don't care for it but some people like it). They have 4 or 5 daily specials, same specials each week. $8 includes soup or salad, coffee or tea, entree (potato and veg where appropriate), and jello or rice pudding (occasionally the rice pudding is either too gummy or too watery, but it's great 90% of the time -- just shows it's house made). You can't beat that, though I think the deal is only available for eat-in customers. Wednesday's steak tips are my very favorite. Also, I have never had a bad breakfast and you can get it with home fries, French fries, hash browns or grits. Staff is very friendly. read more

a decent diner on webster ave (bronx) that mixes old school american diner food with some mexican grub as area has a large mexican community . i would visit this diner when my buddy lived in the area some years ago and i was decent but place looked scabby and dull but during my recent visit it's had a huge makeover from interior to exterior with new bright signs and facade to a modern interior seating set up and it's for the better .the menu is the basic breakfast lunch and dinner via the typical diner method but some spanish offerings are in the mix . my only morning visits have been for breakfast which is good enough for me as some pancakes and egg white omlette served it's purpose . service is good and wait for food is short even when it's a bit packed on a sunday morning . took home some flan for a snack for the afternoon and it was ok but for future visits it might be better eaten right away .good bronx diner that won't blow you away but for the locals it's good enough . read more

Very nice atmosphere. Everyone is very respectful, even if they see you every day. The counter guys always have a smile. They are all Mexicans but everyone speaks English FLUENTLY. They have the best Spanish coffee. You should try it. read more

Thursday afternoon and we were in Da Bronx, for a concert later that evening. We walked in and were promptly greeted and taken to a table by waiter. The place showed it's age but everything was clean and organized. He asked what we would like to drink, gave us menus and we said two diet cokes. Within 10 seconds he brought two glasses with ice and two cans of diet coke. We looked at the extensive diner menu, as well as a Mexican food menu and decided to go classic diner. We ordered the lumberjack breakfast and the Monte Crisco with a side of fries. During the wait, we were entertained by the next table over that had 3 (assuming college students) who were discussing their first world problems, their lack of understanding of the world outside their dorm room. As well as making a mess and needing the waiter's help to clean up their spills. The Monte Crisco sandwich was good but it didn't have any seasoning. It was well proportioned and the fries were crinkle cut, crispy, hot and good but no salt. The lumberjack was perfect stack of 3 pancakes, there was a cooked slice of deli ham under the pancakes, 3 sausage links and lots of bacon (little over cooked) 2 scrambled eggs. The waiter was attentive and very quick to check on us, extra napkins, refills and such. So much good food, worth the money. We plan on coming back. I've never been more satisfied with service in my life !! And the food no need to speak about go in and try it for yourself it's amazing. I love the variety of dishes offered and the device I get when I'm there. I visit this place once every two weeks when my work shift is in the Bronx and every time I go in there they know my name and bring me a coffee just the way I like it (because I'm a caffeine addict and they know that) they have a. Amazing coffee machine I've never seen and my God is it good ! My favorite is the steak quesadillas unless I want chicken they've even made it half and half for me which is amazing !! Aside from the fact that I love their salads this place has failed me many times. If u call after 8:40 they will not answer the phone. I once ordered something around 8pm and specifically asked for ranch dressing and was given Cesar so when I tried to call back for what I ordered they did not answer. I'm pretty sure they saw my name on the caller ID and didn't bother. Even tried to call the delivery guy since he called me when he was downstairs and no answer. Today I called several times and no answer but when I called private miraculously my call was answered and was told it was busy but my order was delivered within 10mins. Not only was the food ridiculously dry and I seriously felt like it was something that had been made probably an hour before but I something was missing from my order and at that point I didn't even want to bother since they probably would have ignored my calls again. I am so over this place and their poor service. The diner by Jerome has never done this to me. Out of the 3 diners on Bedford park this place is the worst! read more
