BBQ in Newport? Heck ya! This is awesome stop with bar, tables, atmosphere and great food and service. Had lunch on a Friday (only day they are open) and the special is an entre, side and drink for $7. And it's a ton of food. And delicious. Met Joe Webb the owner and had a great time. Rachel is super nice and made the lunch hour breeze by. Make a point on Fridays to stop in!! And right across the street from a record store to boot!

Before... pulled pork, ribs, 1/2 chicken, slaw, green beans

Get. The. Ribs. OMG, whatever they use for a Rub, once it caramelizes into a bark, is genius!! Among the best, if not THE best ribs I've had. More tender than Eli's, firmer than Montgomery Inn. The meat comes off the bone fairly easily, but doesn't plop right off like the Ribs King. Tender, delicious, and that caramelized bark! Ok, ribs mentioned. Next, their hours. They are only open for ~9 hours per week, only on Fridays. 11:30am to 9:00pm. I'm sure that every single other review has mentioned this anomaly. Even Sweets & Meats and Ron D's are open more days than this. The rest. All sides are house made. Coursely cut cole slaw, baked beans (with peaches?!), Mac/chz, cheddar/jalapeño grits, green beans, cornbread. And a big duh, of course they have other smoked meats. Pulled pork, brisket, wings, 1/2 chickens, turkey?. All that I've had have been very good, though the chicken breast was kind-of dry. So plan ahead, and block out some time on a Friday to get down to Newport and get some good Cue! Sampler Platter will run you about $20 with generous portions of 3 meats and 2 sides. You will not be able to finish this. But if you do, they also have desserts. Credit cards and cash accepted.

My first visit to Webb's. Fantastic!! I had a brisket sandwich. The meat was piled high and absolutely delicious!! Fall apart tender! The sauces were yummy. Loved my side of collard greens. Can't wait to visit again!!

[TLDR]A local no-frills family-owned bbq joint with reasonable prices and some truly excellent pulled pork, only open on Friday[/TLDR] Yep - they are only open on Fridays. Don't bother heading to the former location of Detroit Joes in Newport any other day of the week, because the husband and wife team running the place took the advice I get every time I try to sing and kept their day jobs, and they take the weekends off. It is certainly an unusual arrangement for a restaurant, but they've been making it work for about a year now. There are no menus - you order at the counter in the front room off a huge chalk menuboard with all the available eats that day, and items are scratched off as they run out. Tables are mostly communal picnic tables. Plates are wax-paper lined baskets, silverware is limited to the much-maligned spork, and every table sports a roll of paper napkins and squeeze bottles of their two sauces - hickory (KC Style) and vinegar (Carolina style). If you are able to get down to Newport on a Friday (and try to go for lunch, some items sell out well before dinner time) you are in for a treat. They smoke 6 meats - pork, pork ribs, brisket, turkey breast, chicken wings, and sausage - every Friday and offer a single serving of any of these for 6 bucks, and all meats are also available by the pound. Sides are 1.50, and a piece of cornbread will run you just 75 cents. Canned sodas are a buck, or 1.50 if you prefer a bottle of that regional specialty, Ale-8-One. Desserts - they usually have a fruit cobbler available - are excellent and just 2 bucks. As of my initial review, have tried all of the meats except the wings and the sausage, and every one of them has been good to very good. The best of the bunch is the pulled pork, which comes in fewer but larger pieces than at Eli's; and I mention Eli's here because I love Eli's puled pork and I think the pulled pork here is its equal. The brisket is also quite good, though a bit chewier, less tender than I'd prefer. The ribs are quite a bit meatier but not as moist and tender as Elis, and its worth mentioning that the same 6 bucks that gets you two bones at Elis gets you three here. It is sad however that a full slab will cost you the same per bone - $24 a slab is quite a bit on the pricey side. The turkey was decent, but a bit dry with a hard outer crust and not much smoke flavor. As of my second review, I have also tried the sausage and the wings. I love the sausages - rough-ground pork, smoked in house, excellent snap, delicious. I think the wings might be an acquired taste for some, because they are not breaded, not fried, and not tossed in sauce; all of which seemed to be required elements for wings here in Cincinnati. These are rubbed and smoked (and I think grilled briefly just before plating? thats just my guess, though) and not tossed in sauce. Like everything else here, nothing is pre-sauced, but it can be added. The smoke flavor on these is very subtle, but they were nonetheless decently good, particularly with a little of both of the sauces dripped onto them I liked both of the sauces, but I can't say that that I'd choose either one as one of the best in town. The hickory is a thick smokey catsup based sauce like what most of us think of as BBQ sauce, and the Carolina sauce is a very tangy thin sauce made primarily with vinegar plus a little tomato paste and some spices, similar to what you'd get when served bbq in Lexington, NC. I didn't like the sides nearly as well, but the jalapeno cheese grits were decently good and not as spicey hot as one might expect.. To be fair, I saw folks come in specifically for the mac-n-chese both times while I was there, but I was unimpressed with this side and recommend you skip it. The peach cobbler for dessert is a terrific, but I did not like the blackberry nearly as well - the owner (Joe) assures me this was an aberration and I should try it again next time I am in. And I will. I don't usually include safety tips in a review, but the steps in front are a little weird/choppy, so watch your step when entering/exiting here. Parking is a bit difficult, but the unmarked log behind the building is your best bet if you can find a spot. The majority of the other spaces nearby are metered Recommended

So I have been looking for the best brisket near me and even though it took what seemed like a hour to get 2 sandwiches to go I have to say they have made a fan. The brisket was very moist and tasted awesome. We waited awhile and I am glad. Next time we will have to get a seat and try more of the food. Only 4 star because it was very hot and had to wait a long time but the food spoke for it self.

    Pulled pork & brisket

The food was absolutely outstanding! The best bbq I've had in a long time! The ribs were beautifully done, the wings were exceptional, the brisket and pulled pork were both great. Should you go, do not skip the cobbler!! Ohh and the baked beans were lithe best I've ever had!

Webb's BBQ catered my wedding reception and were absolutely wonderful to work with! Easy communication, great prices, delicious food (so many compliments from guests!), and awesome service the day of! We had nearly 250 guests to feed and Joe made everything seamless. Would absolutely recommend! Thank you for helping make it an amazing day for us!

Every visit feels like a treat, but lately they've taken things up a notch with a lineup of signature cocktails. I tried the espresso martini, and it was outstanding--smooth, balanced, and the perfect complement to the bold, smoky flavors coming out of the kitchen. As for the food, it's consistently excellent. The dry rub wings are my go-to: perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat and flavor, and even better when paired with their bama white sauce. If you're leaning sandwich, you can't go wrong with a pulled pork or pulled chicken sammy topped with their Carolina gold sauce--it's tangy, slightly sweet, and completely addictive. And the fries? Thick-cut, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside--exactly what great fries should be. Beyond the food and drinks, Lucius Q really shines as a place to gather. They have a fantastic event space that comfortably holds around 50 people--perfect for parties or private events. It's also one of the rare downtown spots with plenty of TVs, making it a great place to catch a game. Add in live music most Fridays and a great outdoor patio for those perfect Cincinnati weather days, and it's easy to see why this place is always buzzing. Lucius Q is one of those spots I simply can't walk past without slowing down and breathing it in. Whether you're a Pendleton regular or just passing through downtown Cincinnati, it's a must-visit that delivers every single time.

This place I was so impressed with. These businesses are the businesses that deserve to hold a special place in the world... firstly our food was delicious, it came out hot, presented well and was just perfect. Second our service was spectacular, we had Ron as our server he was a true gentleman friendly, attentive, and very experienced from what we could tell. The main host was very accommodating, at first we were sat in a spot we did not like we told him and he moved us to a perfect spot with no hesitation. Third the price was very fair and well worth what we paid. We have been to almost all of the "fine dining spots in Cincinnati, such as Capital Grille, Primavista, Precinct etc and this place by FAR provides the best dining experience in Cincinnati. If you are looking for an amazing meal, amazing service and you are in Cincinnati you better give this place a try. Very impressed and hope this place continues the service and food they provide for years to come and doesn't change.

$100 Food Poisoning…read more My husband was really wanting ribs and we had always heard good things about this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but were seated pretty quickly on the heated patio upstairs. When we sat down, they instantly gave us our water and then we didn't see our waitress for about fifteen minutes. The waitress finally came and we went ahead and ordered our appetizers, drinks, and ribs all at same time because we didn't know when she'd be back (even told them no need to delay the entree to try to hurry things along). We waited quite a bit for our appetizers- about an hour. The couple next to us even left before they got their entrees and were very upset and spoke to the manager. We got the appetizers first- onion straws and the meatballs/grits. Meatballs were.... not good. Very very herby with an uncomplimentary sauce, grits were bland, but at least the onion straws were good. Ribs can out about 20 minutes later. We shared them and got mac as a side. Mac tasted very generic. We were very excited about the ribs but they were a let down. Sauce was very sweet and for price we paid I expected a bigger slab (we got the full slab). Went ahead and got our check while we were still eating so we could hurry home. Now, the real surprise came that evening. Husband got very very bad food poisoning- like the up all night kind. I'm not sure if it was his side of the ribs or the grits but it was BAD. Can't believe we paid over $100 for someone in the kitchen to not follow basic food safety protocol!! We will not be back! Money is better spent elsewhere!
