It's been a minute since I've found myself visiting a post office. After this experience I can't…read moreimagine why. I normally don't like to leave negative reviews but this experience left me so disappointed. I had to send a package out for something I sold. I had a prepaid label. Sure I could've dropped it straight in the drop off but I wanted a receipt to have proof I sent it off in case there's any discrepancies later. The staff was very rude. They refused to help me instead referred me over to the kiosk. The kiosk wasn't scanning my package and wouldn't let me get a receipt. Again I got in line for the person to send me back. I told him it didn't work and so he told me he'd meet me at the kiosk. At that point it was like I was asking him to climb Mount Everest or something because I could tell he didn't like I bothered him to do his job. He met me at the kiosk and basically acted like I was an idiot and did everything on the screen I'd done previously. Afterwards I tried scanning the package. It didn't seem to want to scan at first. Finally it scanned and I got my receipt the guy then took off. Horrible customer service! I'll definitely avoid coming to this location next time I need to send something out since no one there clearly wants to be there. I get better service at Walmart sadly.

Several times Ive had tracking show that a package was delivered to the Los Vigils community box and they werent there. One time 5 packages were tracked on the same day. None showed. I filed an APD report and one with USPS. I left letter to the mail carrier informing them with copies of the reports. The day after all 5 packages showed up. 8 full days after tracking showed they arrived. This has occured more than once. Its not to hard to figure who us stealing the packages or not doing their job is it?

However my experience today was wonderful. The service was quick and friendly. The postal worker greeted me as I walked in and was cheerful as he assisted all of us in line. This post office is the best one I've been to in New Mexico!…read more Service is super friendly and efficient, so basically you feel like you're anywhere but a post office! It's usually the same gentleman behind the counter, and he answers questions with patience and a smile. The building is very small so there may be a few services this location doesn't do but so far everything we've needed (including sending registered mail) has been a breeze, and they do have P.O. Boxes. The building is actually on 4th Street so its easy access and parking is along the North side, as well as in the lot behind. Note they're closed for lunch from 11:30-12.

Having a good time at the White Sands National Monument? Tell all of your Manhattan buddies about it, on a postcard, for 34 cents. Now, do tell, why the Postal Service has been shouldered with the obligation of funding their employee pension plans for the next 75 years. The next time you FedEx, ask 'em for the 49 cent deal. The only time I hate dealing with the Post Office is over the holidays. I came to this location recently and stood in line for, oh, maybe ten minutes. The employees were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, as usual. The place offered everything any proud American could ask for, every package and shipping option imaginable, and a huge array of PO boxes. Self-service postage machines, hourly mail box pickup, the facility was clean and ordered, streamlined, including my favorite aspect of this age-old industry: the "You're Next" agreement. Essentially, this ritual involves the unprepared consumer (me) approaching the desk with unprepared or unfinished shipping materials which require a little work before they're sent off. I was told, as usual, what I had to do, and was guaranteed the next spot in line when I finished my business. I love this unspoken rule. And if the Federales ever try anything shady (i.e. privatize the mail service), I'm going Postal.
