Great Place for hydroponics. Started my first farm in my office. Purchased pump, food, baskets, and clay pellets from WGH. They were very helpful in getting me the right food after I explained my project. Plants are growing 4 inches per week. I'm in the 7th week and already have bud producing tomatos, bell peppers, and Jalapenos. I am also growing chives and have taken two harvests of those. Prices for what I purchased were completely reasonable and matched closely Internet pricing with exception that they were readily available with no wait. Check pictures of the crop on this page. I had a major issue with another hydro store and a product. I took the product to WE grow and spoke with Daniel and Paul. They said even though they don't sell the product I was trying to return, they went out of their way to research and see if they could get credit from the vendor so they could take it back. One of the two items they were able to help me with. This is what they call bending over backwards for your customer. This is why I will continue to shop here even if it is further away from me now. I went in to this store yesterday to pick up some high nitrogen nutrients. I asked the man there to recommend me a product that is high in nitrogen. He then asked me why I wanted high N nutrients. I told him that I had some plants that kicked into flower too soon, so I was going to put them under long days of artificial light and pump them full of nitrogen in an effort to force them into re-vegetation. He then went on for about five minutes about how revegging a flowering plant is impossible. This is false. I have revegged flowering plants before. However, he seemed adamant that it wouldn't work. I decided to leave when he told me, "Sorry I couldn't tell you what you wanted to hear". This was a terrible experience. I was prepared to spend money on whichever product he recommended, but for some reason he seemed set on not selling me anything. Very strange, but I'll go give somebody else my money. read more

I was looking for LED lights originally but the selection they had was too pricey, and the employee there recommended HPS lighting. I stated that the application for my lighting was in a growing tent. He was a very nice guy. He recommended me a 1000w ballast, 1000w grow bulb and hood, which I bought on his recommendation. Unfortunately, he failed to think about my setup and mention how hot the setup would get and how much heat it would radiate. After 5 minutes of having this light on, in my vented and air conditioned tent, the temperatures sky rocketed from 75.7 degrees to 83 degrees (obviously WAY too hot). The employees are kind but I would take their recommendations with a grain of salt, or just not take their recommendations at all. Overall, a good shopping experience with a terrible employee recommendation. I may update the review, as I will be seeing if they will let me return the ill advised products. If you already know exactly what you need, they have a great selection of products. An unfortunate experience only marred by a bad recommendation from an employee. Update: after reaching out to the manager i was offered a full refund. read more

Arrived at 10:58 on Saturday morning. Staff associate pulls in at 11am. We say good morning to him and his response is he will need a couple minutes. So we wait a few minutes meanwhile another customer pops in so we head inside as well. At no point were we spoken to by staff member. Though they did carry the items we were looking for the sales associate at this location was very uninterested in my business or anyone else,s from what i could see. First, best customer service I've experienced in the Ventura County area. Mariano helped me today and informed me on a lot. Large Inventory of many different products and the prices are very competitive as well. They carry 6 gallon containers of my favorite hydro nutrient, Emerald Harvest, which is rare for my experience. Free compost tea on Sundays! Up to a gallon for free and it works so well on plants. Can't pass that deal up, worth the drive for sure. read more

I've had hands down very positive and welcoming experiences every time I go in. I just started growing plants for the first time but with their knowledge and help it looks like and feels like I have experience growing. They are straight to the point but always make me feel like they have time to answer all questions I have (and I have had a lot). Went to check out this place due to its high star rating. Walking in to find the only person wearing a mask was the person behind the register. Asked if they carried certain items that were needed. I asked if they had Gorilla tents, they looked to see if they could get it and if so what the price was. They also suggested I take a look at a tent over "there", I walked over to check out the tent and ask them what brand it was. I did not receive a response. I was looking to spend quite a bit of money at this location if they had the products I was intrested in. To be honest this place seemed to have a lot of low end lighting and other accessories. But it did have a ton of fertilizers and soils available. I would tater travel further to receive better customer service rather than visit this place again. They could have offered alternate products but I think they didn't want to bother. The best part of my visit was leaving and having a conversation with a customer about manual trimmers. NOW if he was behind the counter I would have had a much better experience. Oh, yeah one more thing. The person behind the register pulled his mask down and picked his teeth ... that was gross! read more

In the back they had vendors set up. I learned a lot more today on some of the products i already have and insight new ones that i will try. Awesome spot. I have an aquaponics setup to raise tilapia and grow some vegetables as well, and these guys have everything i've needed so far. It's rare to find everything in one place, and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone who's into hydroponics, and if you do aquaponics like myself, they have pea gravel, fittings, pumps, etc. All the things you can't buy at home depot and pond supply stores. read more

I have gone to all of the hydroponic shops in the valley and there's none that stock there store like john and you know for a grower that is very important not to have to drive around and risk your plants dying for something you needed but couldn't find. And I seen someone talking about pricing being retail well sure when u just walk in and have no rapport with anyone why should they give you a deal right off the bat they have family's to support just like you I'm sure. Here is a review from a Simi resident and actual customer. I find it hard to believe that non-locals shop at this store. When I was planning on switching from soil to indoor hydro I went into We Grow to see what system I needed. The guy behind the counter, who still runs the place, was not interested in helping a newbie and gave a lot of vague answers. So I left and went to a store in the Valley and spent about $2000 plus on a tent, ballasts, lights, ferts and an ebb and flow set up. People write about the great prices, HUH? They charge list when every other place I've been to offers between 10 and 20% off. Their stock is good but nothing like as good as Go Green in Encino and they give me 17% off list. We are talking serious money here. Since my first visit to We Grow I've spent well over $5000 at other stores on equipment and ferts. When I told the owner this he responded that there is no competition in Simi so he did not need to discount. The other reviews here are ridiculous! read more
