Earl and We Are Floors was referred to me when I needed a recommendation for a client who needed their hardwood floors refinished. I had a rental property with wood floors in rough shape, so I covered them up with carpet -- except the stair landing, which was covered with peel-n-stick tile. After 10 years, I decided to refinish the floors. I had the carpet pulled up and the tile removed. Two sections of floor were in bad shape and I didn't know if they could be saved. Earl quoted me a fair price, talked me through the process (and made me comfortable he knew what he was doing), and took care of the whole job. The floor came out way better than I expected. We Are Floors replaced my old nasty carpet with hardwood flooring. They removed my old carpet, installed a subfloor and hardwood flooring, and replaced the the baseboards. The baseboards were an add on at minimum cost. My project was done at the estimated cost (plus the cost of the baseboard material). He patiently explained all of the details involved in the installation of the hardwood flooring for the steps and hallway as well as sanding and staining the living room and dining room (and I really drilled him with lots of questions). He was a pleasure to work with. He inspected and made certain that the floors were immaculate. He really took pride in producing a high quality finished job with impeccable attention to detail. That was a welcoming quality -- because I am a stickler for good workmanship. My previous contractor was so bad and Earl assured me that "if I allowed him the job--he would start and finish as stated in the contract and he prides himself on doing a good job". AND HE DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB!! He assured me that I would be pleased with the outcome of his work and "I truly am--very very happy with my floors". We are hoping to sell our house in the next couple of years and our realtor advised that something would need to be done about the floors before then. She recommended carpet to save money but we knew nobody likes walking in a house with a carpeted entryway. After a very brief yelp search I stumbled upon We Are Floors and I will forever be thankful. Earl answered my phone call despite it being well after buisness hours. He came and gave us a free estimate within the week. When he gave us the estimate my jaw nearly dropped- it was about 75% cheaper than I thought it was going to be. I'm almost positive we couldn't even get carpet that cheap. Within another week he was back with his team. They were super courteous and professional. Earl kept us informed throughout the process and was able to answer all of my questions and then some! When the job took slightly longer than expected, Earl came and finished up the next day even though it was a Saturday. I met Earl of "We are Floors" back in 2004 as he was refered to me by a friend who had used his service to restore the floors in several of her properties. Given the fact that I am very particular about how I like things done, my friend knew that Earl would be a perfect fit for me. "WE ARE FLOORS" provides excellent and professional service and pays close attention to the customers requested details. My first experience was in 2004 when I wanted to remove all of the carpet in my upstairs split foyer style home to put down hardwood floors. My home was built in 1964 and has beautiful charater. Once Earl removed the carpet exposing the natural floors, he encouraged me to not put down the hardwood floors that I originally wanted and to let him work with what was already there and he was absolutely correct, my floors came out amazing. Earl could have did what I asked and taken my money, but with his knowledge and honesty of what would work the best for me, I was very comfortable about accepting his suggestion. Needless to say, I was very pleased with the outcome. When people enter my home, my floors are the very first thing that they notice and are extremely amazed how well kept they are. Earl has been out once since 2004 about 4 years ago to do a light buff and a new coat of polyurethane to refresh my floors but that was has been it. Yesterday, I decided to pull up the carpet of another room to do the same treatment as the rest of my floor and again, very pleased. I was referred to Earl by my contractor. After looking at the floors of one of his clients, I decided to go with We Are Floors. Earl was prompt and willing to do what it took to get my 40 year old floors, which had been covered with padding and carpeting, back to good shape. After a bit of arduous work, sanding and preparing, we decided it was best to also stain prior to the poly, to even the discoloration. Earl handled the job expertly. Of course they don't look like the pre-fab floors you buy new but my floors have character and an amazing shine.
