Hired them for a job and booked it for 3.5 weeks later. Leading up to it I was texting and calling trying to get confirmation of start time on the day we scheduled. No response. The day before they finally answer the phone and say they know they have our job scheduled but they are on another big job that gave them more work so they won't be able to come. Who knows if they are good at floors - but they are very bad at running a business. I would avoid. Update: after that call they called me back and tried to make things right, which I appreciated. But I declined to move forward with the job as I have no interest in doing business with a company that operates this way. read more

*I haven't chosen which company to use yet, but this review is for the service I've had so far* I almost went with Home Depot, but when I had already been dealing with them for about a month, they changed their answers to my questions, so beware, as the details MATTER. However, with Walter, he came to my house the same day I called and gave me an estimate right away. He's been consistent with his answers to my questions about things like: YES, Walter can reuse my existing baseboards (they match the trim on all my doors) and they will carefully remove them, label them, sand, varnish, and reinstall them. Home Depot said they could and have now informed me they won't. YES, Walter can remove my metal sliding closet doors, lay hard wood underneath, and reinstall. Home Depot said they could and now say they won't even disassemble them and I have to remove them myself and they won't even reinstall them. YES, Walter can cover my floor safe with wood and give me access to it, making it almost unnoticeable. Home Depot said they could and now they say they won't, "so just keep the (old) carpet in that closet." YES, Walter can start right away and finish before my (hoped for) deadline of February 22. Home Depot said they could and now they say it's not possible for them. I will update this if I go with WC Flooring. Its between them and another company. Just waiting for the final numbers/details from them. read more

Not only did my floors look beautiful when they were done, they did quality work. I had an area on my hardwood floors that was damaged/stained from the chemicals used when I had my carpets cleaned. They were able to remove almost all of the stain to where it was no longer noticeable. They also matched some missing pieces of flooring and blended it in beautifully. read more

Well over due. It's been 4 years since I have used WC Flooring. Let's start with a little history. I have a coworker who did a lot of work to his house. He's the guy who had at least two dozen crews kicked out of his house for crap work. I asked him for a floor referral and he told me "I have this guy Walter who is awesome and he is one of two people I would EVER recommend." The other was an AC guy. So I called. Walter not the AC repair. Several prior estimates said I had to rip out all wood and start fresh. The floors were badly damaged from the previous owners attempt to sand and stain. Walter looked at my floors and his horrific expression almost confirmed this. He took a breath and said "I can fix this but this is the last time these floors get sanded." His skill and experience was really put to the test; he should have received a trophy. I would recommend him hands down. Honest, great prices and can't beat the experience; 30+ years. read more

Walter was able to assure that his crew (shoutout to Ariel and Erik) could do everything I wanted, and THEY DID. Also, they completed it in the relatively short time frame I needed because I had guests coming from out of the country. Some of the things I wanted were to reuse the existing baseboards because they match the trim around all doors, install the flooring to accommodate a floor safe, and fit the existing sliding closet doors on top of the new hardwood (nobody else could guarantee they would still fit). Walter and his crew has completed a few projects for me. Halls, bedrooms, closets, stairs, and recently a very large room with fossilized bamboo which is extremely hard flooring. Our floors were not just a square floor. It's an old house with many radius' adding to the level of difficultly. In our case, Walter measured the area and we ordered the flooring then scheduled the installation. They arrive on-time as scheduled, work all day and complete the projects without interruption. The crew are very knowledgeable and experienced as well as personable and easy to work with. We had several estimates and discussions with other contractors before going with WC. Unfortunately I cannot review the workmanship of this company; its because I was stood up for my estimate appointment. I gave him a courtesy 15 minutes after our scheduled meeting time before I called him for an ETA and he informed me that he had completely forgotten about me. He then asked if he could drive out to me then, that it would only take him 15-20 minutes to get to my home. I then waited 40 minutes and had to leave. He called me close to an hour after we talked and asked for my address because he forgot it. I ended up going with another company. I have a 1950's home in Whittier with original oak hardwood floors. The previous owner carpeted over it in the bedrooms. A client of mine had used Walter's service before and was very satisfied so I decided to give him a try. They came in a week after the initial meeting and removed the carpet, sanded and stained etc... Bottom line: they did an excellent job. They blended it in very well with the existing hardwood.
