Wayne Jason Jewelry Design is the best! Literally it has been rated the best jewelry store in Pasadena for over 8 years in a row, and there is a reason for that, and it's because he is FANTASTIC! I first went to him to make my Tiffany's bracelet larger (almost impossible with Tiffany's) Well he did it, and it looks flawless. He has sized many of my rings to perfection and he designed a beautiful sapphire ring for me. I get a ton of compliments whenever I wear it. It's stunning!! Wayne has a beautiful selection of jewelry, and if there's something that you don't see that you are looking for, he will design it and make it for you. He is willing to work with you any way possible to help you out. I will continue to go to Wayne for any jewelry needs and I have sent some customers his way and they all say the same thing. What an amazing experience. I found Wayne through an appraiser, David, whom posts up in Wayne's establishment near B of A, Vons, and across from Huntington Hospital where I was born. Wayne is a professional every step of the experience. Constant checkpoint were instilled along with relevant past customer stories to assist with my decision making process. I had a custom white gold band quoted along with the pricing for platinum. Wayne had a custom wax mould available (after paying a deposit for a portion of the metal materials) nearly immediately and the ring a business week afterwards! Wow. We had a GREAT experience with Wayne Jason creating a new Wedding ring for my wife. Wayne is the Best! We've been trying to get a new ring created for my wife for a while. She has early onset osteoarthritis and she has not been able to wear her old ring for quite some time. I purchased her a 1920's vintage ring with an extension, but unfortunately after a year, the ring broke at the extension joint. I searched Yelp and sent out several email inquiries about building a ring and Wayne was the first and one of the only persons to reach out and answer all my questions. First and foremost, Wayne is super nice and personable which made our meetings a great experience. He's also straight forward and honest as well. My wife had a very specific ring style in mind and Wayne was able to bring it to life! He used the stones we had and made suggestions and recommendations on what needed to be done to make it int to the ring she wanted. He was able to save us some money as well with his connections in the jewelry industry, acquiring the Sapphires at a great price and having the center Diamond recut at a very reasonable price to improve the sparkle and shine! He also repurposed the extension from the old ring and incorporate into the new ring. All in all, he did a great job of bringing my Wife's new Wedding ring vision to Life! I've been doing business with Wayne Jason for years now, but it wasn't until the other day, and for something pretty simple, that I REALLY came to appreciate his kind, and personalized service. I have previously shopped with Wayne for his custom work. I've brought in a few old pieces of jewelry that I wanted to take apart and remake, as the styles were somewhat out dated, and no one else in town seemed to be able to carve wax molds on the premises to my liking, do the casting and re-make something into a one of a kind piece of art like Wayne. This time, all I needed was a custom made, custom engraved charm and twelve charms soldered on a charm bracelet and I needed it in ONE DAY!! Wayne put other things aside to accommodate me and made me a very 'happy camper' by giving me the personalized service that is so very rare to see these days. I picked up the charm bracelet yesterday, and immediately ran to the post office and sent it overnight to my daughter in Florida for her birthday. She received it this morning and called me in tears...every charm represented somewhere she and I had traveled together over the years. And the charm Wayne customized for me was of course her favorite. :-) My mother gave me her gold charm bracelet a few years ago which consists of charms of our travels since I was a little girl and thanks to Wayne; I have decided to continue the same tradition with my daughters. I wandered in one day looking to either find or design a custom engagement ring. I had already looked online for weeks and didn't find exactly what I wanted. I showed Wayne some photos of what was close to what I wanted and gave him some details. He said no problem. We can make anything. And He can!!! Many other jewelers said they could do the same thing and may even have similar technology but my gut told me that Wayne had a better eye for design, a willingness, to work with me, and really understood what it was I was trying to do. I'm glad I went with my gut. I had no idea it was going to be so fun to design with Wayne a ring for my bride to be that no other woman would have. He was so gracious in working with me and even stayed late with me after closing a few times to get it done. And all this during the busy holiday season. I could not have been happier. Just to provide another perspective here... My wife and I have been going to Wayne Jason occasionally for many years. He has some nice stuff, and what he doesn't have he's eager to create for you. Prices aren't awesome, but not really unreasonable either, especially since every time we go in he's having some sort of sale. I think the quality of the stuff he sell is probably more consistent than you might get at a discounter. That said, there aren't really any bargains here, and if you're in a hurry, selection will be limited. If you don't know exactly what you want, Wayne seems like an honest guy that will do the best he can for you. If you know exactly what you want and want to find just that at a great price, I'd keep driving into L.A. (By the way, I was surprised to see that Yelp filtered out a bunch of Jason's reviews. Looking more closely, they're almost all gushy, uncritical 5-star reviews from people who have never reviewed anyone else. Filtering them out may be unfair to Wayne Jason. On the other hand, I'm not sure I believe them either.) read more

What can I say, Wayne and his partner Nazo are a great professional team. I was able to sell an old ring for a very fair price and in return I went ahead and purchased wedding bands from him. I go in about once a month to get cleanings and I am welcome in the store anytime. They are both so kind to me, and I consider them friends. I have been a customer of Wayne's since 1990. I came to him with a lot of misc. jewelry wanting one nice piece of jewelry with all the stones in it. He made me a very nice custom ring. I was interested in creating a ring using a stone that had been in my family for several generations. I was impressed by the owner's willingness to listen to my ideas and to his suggestions in creating a design. But I was most impressed with the final results. I'm long overdue writing this review. Wayne created a beautiful custom wedding ring for me over a year ago with platinum and sapphires. He was able to source high-quality gem stones and mold the platinum to my exact specifications to fit around my engagement ring. So this year, when my husband was looking to buy me a special piece of jewelry for my birthday, I told him to go talk to Wayne. I circled a few photos in a magazine and Wayne got to work collaborating with my husband to design a perfect, unique item. I won't lie and pretend I didn't put in my 2 cents on the design as well, because I did. It was fun to bat around our ideas and come up with something really unusual. In about 6 weeks, with careful and deliberate perfectionism, Wayne was able to take our pencil drawing and deliver a lovely, one-of-a-kind custom necklace that I adore. When I first went into this establishment, I went in for a ring guard. Wayne was very nice and put the ring guard on at no charge. I gave him my email address as he said he often gets items in that people sell to him. I got an email on a lovely tennis bracelet that I showed my husband. Unbeknown to me, my husband when in and looked at it for a 5 year anniversary gift for me and said he would call and let Wayne know if he wanted it as Wayne stated he had others interested. Well, my husband went out of town and I received an email from Wayne saying how he hated to let me know that my husband had been in to look at the bracelet but that my husband hadn't gotten back to him. Now, of course, the surprise is ruined but I nonetheless emailed him back letting him know that my husband was out of town and I would tell him to call Wayne back. I received a response back from Wayne letting me know that his, being a businessman, pet peeve is when people don't contact him when they say they are going to and he's sure that wherever my husband is, that there has to be a phone available to call him back. I was in sales for many years and know that no matters whose fault something may be, you DO NOT EVER treat a customer like this. My husband may have turned around and bought something else and now, to say the least, we will never go back into his store. Obviously Wayne has an attitude problem and there are many other jewelers in Pasadena that I'm sure would love business. Go find one of them and don't waste your time here. read more

I came into this store looking to have a custom piece of jewelry designed for my great grandmother's 100th birthday. We chatted about some design ideas and settled on one together. I paid 650$. I came in to get the pendant and I was really excited because this was a very emotional and meaningful piece for me. It looked like a 2 year old had stuck stones onto a thin piece of gold. The design was NOTHING like what we had discussed, the stones were totally uneven and the initials that were to be engraved on the back were scratched on. The stones stuck through the gold plate so that the back of the pendant was riddled with the sharp bases of the stones. In order to cover up the terrible job, he had taken it upon himself to make tiny scratches all over the front of the pendant. It was TERRIBLE. I cried as soon as I got into the car. I felt completely duped. I went to another jeweler and they were mortified that there was a jeweler that could be in business making pieces like the one he had made for me.
