Searched for a reputable place and we definitely found it. First off, they are by appointment only, which was nice. Having an appointment made it feel more private and comfortable. The service was wonderful. The owner was very patient and amiable. The gold testing and process was very transparent and clear. I definitely left astounded on what we had. I had brought in quite a few pieces from a family member who had passed. I didn't know how much we had and the process at the store made me feel that I got the best deal. Highly recommend. read more

I am writing to share my wonderful experience working with Nick. He is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and honest. We have sold gold to him a few times now. During our second visit, I was looking for a specific price for my jewelry that he wasn't able to meet. Instead of simply turning me away, he recommended that I try selling the item on eBay. He took the time to provide me with all the necessary details on how to list it, including the specific terminology I should use. Thanks to his guidance, I successfully sold the items on eBay for my target price. I am very grateful for his assistance and his patience; he truly gives each customer the time and attention they need. read more

Right off the bat, let me say that as a first time customer, this was my first impression: Nick is a great guy... very personable, down to earth, and fair. I feel like he's an honest man, and I'm very glad that I went here vs anywhere else for evaluating such a sentimental item. The location is on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, and it's a very busy street, so finding parking can quickly become a game of patience and finesse. After driving around for a bit, we got lucky and found a spot right out front as someone else was leaving. Score! LA Cash for Gold has a very clean and minimalist interior, and the location also felt very safe to me, which is of the utmost importance when one is traveling with and carrying expensive jewelry and/or gold. Nick also has a beautiful sweetheart of a guard dog/head of security who is also the full-time shop assistant and display model aka Vanna White. Don't let her fool you though... she has some pretty sharp looking pearly whites and I'm pretty sure she knows how to use them! If you're looking for someone who is fair and also personable, you've come to the right place. I left feeling good about my decision, with no remorse or second thoughts, and I also left with a couple great recommendations for local orthopedic specialists. Thank you, Nick! Take care and hope to see you again! read more

Excellent customer service. Nick is honest and very intelligent. That's truly rare nowadays.

This was my first time ever selling gold jewelry. I had done some research but I wasn't too sure what I was getting into. Made an appointment and Nick's expertise was excellent. I was honest with him that I had gone to other locations prior to him, I told him I felt that they weren't giving me fair prices or others just wanted to bargain with me. Name your price type of people. It didn't feel right. Nick isn't like that at all, he is very professional and explains thoroughly. The process of weight, purity of the gold, and most of all, he's so nice and takes pride in his work. You can see he has years of experience. I highly recommend coming here first. Thank you Nick for making my visit there very pleasant, honest, and definitely a future customer. read more

This guy Nick is either really stupid or a snake! My husband took in sterling silver goblets to exchange for cash. After several minutes of Nick telling him how brilliant, educated, smart, and honest he was he took one of the goblets to analyze it with his fancy machine he has, only to come back with the disheartening news that they were "1000% FAKE". He claimed they were silver plated brass even though they were clearly marked Sterling. Knowing they were acid tested before hand I was able to sell them as sterling as they were marked at a different location. The analysis had the base at 95% silver and the top at 90% silver. First time visited this place. They are very honest & you can trust on. They do give you good advice to hold on if you don't need money to sale it yet which is true. I will back for them & strongly recommendations read more

The entire transaction was excellent and Nick actually invested time into me. He could not take me the first day as I was a walk in but he took a look at what I had regardless. After our meeting I decided to try another business down the street and this interaction was a disaster. They did not greet me at the door and met my interest of selling gold with zero customer service. Once I presented my pieces they immediately doubted the karat due to its country of origin. They tested my pieces using an acid which I didn't appreciate and actually tarnished the piece - they told me my piece was 22k not 24k which I know from my research was wrong, as my piece bends to the touch and the clasp is actually intended to bend open. Needless to say, Nick and I made an appointment for the next day and our business was so smooth, informative, and authentic. He paid top dollar for my piece and never once questioned or interrogated my choices. This review highly recommends Nicks business. read more

I walk in interested in selling some gold. I wasn't aware it was by appointment. However, Nick let me in anyway. I showed Nick the pieces I wanted to sell. He explained to me the process from weighing and testing the gold's purity and how he determines the price. Nick was very nice and patient. I ended up selling 2 of 3 pieces I brought in. I felt his pricing was very fair and he was very open and transparent. I may return to sell the 3rd piece and would recommend Nick and this business to anyone wanting to convert their gold to cash. read more

Nick at LA Cash for Gold was very professional and got me a top notch price for my platinum. Highly recommend!

My in-laws house burned down during the recent Eaton Fire. My Father in law had a collection of Silver bars in various once's, silver coins and a coin collection. Needless to say they were burned pretty badly. I had been in the store before and so I went in and explained to Nick the situation with the bricks and coins. The bricks and coins were of no value unless melted down. He worked with me and helped me get them prepped for melting. Most of them had plastic melted on them so we went through a cleaning process first. I took in 3 different batches of silver bricks & coins and Nick melted them down into lager bricks which generated a large some of money for my in laws. So we went from a total loss to quite a surprise. Thank you Nick! Highly recommend him for this and of course he makes really fine jewelry as well! read more

Nick is very fair and honest not to mention professional. Best in the business. Always make a reservation. Very easy to set up a time.

If you're looking for a trustworthy, professional, and genuinely kind jeweler, Nick at Cash for Gold is your go-to! I can't say enough positive things about my experience with him. I recently inherited some of my mother's jewelry that I wasn't wearing, and I wanted to sell the pieces to purchase something more meaningful in her spirit. Naturally, I was worried about being lowballed or taken advantage of by unscrupulous buyers. Enter Nick--one of the most honest and transparent jewelry shop owners I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Before I even stepped foot in his shop, I knew exactly how much I'd be getting for my gold thanks to the easy-to-use calculator on his website. His prices are fair, clearly posted, and there are no surprises. The entire process was smooth, straightforward, and incredibly reassuring. Nick operates by appointment only, which is such a refreshing change--when you're there, you get his undivided attention. There's no rush, no pressure, and certainly no haggling. It felt more like a conversation with a trusted friend than a transaction. By the end, not only had I gotten a great deal for my gold, but I also walked away with a new jeweler for life. Nick's integrity, expertise, and customer-focused approach are unmatched. If you're ever thinking about selling gold or working with a jeweler, Cash for Gold is the place to go. I couldn't recommend Nick more highly--you can trust him with your eyes closed! read more

We originally went to Nick to sell some gold. Excellent transaction and straightforward. He publishes his current rate on his site, weighs everything, and it's a very easy and smooth transaction. He is also a Master Jeweler, and we went back to get an upgraded ring for our 40th anniversary. He spent a lot of time with us helping us pick the special ring. He has a great selection and eye. We ended up with one of his unique designs and creations and we love the ring. High quality and attention to detail mounting etc. He is very personable and a pleasure to do business with. He even videoed the ring. We were very thrilled with the over all experience and will absolutely be back. read more

LA Cash For Gold - Gold Buyers Near Me - Pasadena, California

Got here when the doors first opened. There was another person in front of me with their transactions. The owner is professional, kind, straightforward and has information galore. I had some pieces of jewelry I know I would never ever wear. It was out of style and also kind of busted looking. It was bought for its weight in gold. The owner was really patient and thorough in explaining all of the info. And his place is lovely. Super clean, well lit, and had a nice pretty atmosphere. With any transaction you want to feel confident and trust the person you're dealing with. I will definitely be back here! read more

Will not recommended this place to anyone ! Nick is highly disrespectful and acts , very immature when you ask a price , he will give you attitude and tell you to go look online we don't talk prices over phone for some odd reason ! Like if your asking something illegal , he's very arrogant and will not bring my jewelry or anything of value to him ! You're lost buddy . read more

I went in to sell some gold and the hours posted on Yelp were not updated. This business only takes appointments. I was hoping to sell my jewelry here because I received great service before, but I had to go elsewhere because I needed the cash for gold right away. Maybe it'll be helpful for the owner to update their hours or make a not that walk-ins aren't allowed. read more

This was my first time visiting this establishment. After reading many reviews, I chose this place for one reason, and one reason alone..the reputation of the owner, Nick! A longtime Pasadena merchant, that has a reputation for being a straight-shooter businessman, understanding our side of the counter, as well. I'm a longtime collector and I know my business and I'm extremely grateful for my intuitive sense making decisions easily and knowing when to walk. I immediately knew I was in the right place after the door opened. I was greeted by a smiling face and an immediate offer of assistance. It was needed, whereas I have a disability. Nick carried in my backpack directly from my vehicle. Now, that's a service not to be refused. Ty Nick!! As for my selling experience, I'm honestly telling you that it was about as good as it gets. Nick is very knowledgeable, and not only in buying/selling precious metals. Nick explains the value and exactly what he's willing to pay for each individual item. Nick also provides the customer a computer generated spreadsheet, listing each item you're selling, so it's easy to see how much you're being paid. And, there's absolutely no pressure to sell. The decision is only yours to make. Nick also has a website that provides live metal(s) updates and exactly how much he's paying before you even go there. That's pretty darn upfront imo. I can easily write more positives about my initial experience, but the bottom line is, I'd travel a hundred miles, passing hundreds of other establishments, only to go straight to Nick for my next buying or selling need. It's also a really nice place. Call for an appointment. Call early if you need to see Nick that day. He fills up his appointments quickly. Lastly, got a question about diamonds, coins, jewelry, precious metals, gemstones, or anything of material value, just call Nick first. I've done this too many times. I promise, imo, you won't go wrong! I hope this helps anyone who needs help with their valuables. Ty again, Nick. read more

This place is a hidden gem (pun intended). Jewelry stores/dealers can always be hit miss on their honesty and knowledge but this is a place you can come to and have no concerns about being ripped off or otherwise taken advantage of because the jeweler knows more than you do. Nick is a great person to deal with, VERY personable and friendly. He'll take of your needs, whether you are buying or selling. This store is in a very convenient location, right near the Playhouse district on Colorado/El Molino. The entry is buzzed in, so it is secure, and Nick will make sure that if you are engaged in a higher dollar transaction, that your security during the transaction is understood and taken care of. He specializes in wedding rings so if you're getting hitched definitely come here and check it out. He also buys jewelry/gold, won't rip you off, and if you have any questions on your product he'll give you a straight and honest answer to its potential value. read more

Thank you for being so honest and straightforward! I had a few metals that were undervalued by other establishments. I had some old gold jewelry the I was looking forward to sell , as soon as I walk into the business nick welcome in and made me feel pretty confortable answering all my questions, highly recommend this place read more

Quite simply ... Nick (owner, jewelry designer) is amazing! This was my first time selling jewelry .... much of it broken, old, handed-down or just not my style anymore. Nick was personable, made me feel very comfortable, offered me coffee and was very honest and trustworthy. I had an artisan silver ring that I thought a friend of mine would love so I pulled it from the for sale pile. Nick loved it, said "don't sell that," noticed it was bent and polished and fixed it for free. That was within the first 10 minutes of meeting him. At the end, I decided to keep my grandmother's wedding band and asked if it would be easy to make it smaller to fit my pinkie. Although he usually doesn't do things "as you wait," he made and exception. And then didn't charge a penny for it, even though one of the diamonds fell out during the cleaning. He replaced it and tightened all the others so I could wear it with confidence. If you're thinking of selling gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, I'd say look no further -- Nick's your guy and LA Cash for Gold is the place. read more

Nick was very helpful and I even learned about the diamond I was selling before I let it go! He's very friendly and doesn't rush through the process but is willing to take time to answer questions and really knows his stuff. Highly recommend if you are selling or buying read more

A+++ Service. You can get a general idea of how much they will buy your gold for by using the calculator on their site. It has live prices of gold, super easy to use, just type in kind of gold and weight (I used my kitchen scale) and subtract any diamonds or stones (there is a diamond calculator as well, that gives you an estimate of how much the diamonds weigh). I ended up getting a little more than expected because I figured I wouldn't get anything for the diamonds in my jewelry (they were TINY pave) but they bought them for a reasonable amount, I was surprised. The location is clean, beautiful, and safe (you have to buzz in because the door is locked). I'm not even a fan of diamonds and bling (hence why I was selling my jewelry) I'm more of a crystals, and turquoise kind of gal, but I was definitely charmed by some of the pieces in the store. ;) Nick helped me out and he was awesome, he is very knowledgeable, answers questions, friendly, AND I found out he is a Jewelry Craftsmen as well. I saw some of the pieces he had made and they were gorgeous, detailed, and unique. He also said they have more of the unique pieces in the back, and do custom jewelry as well, so just ask if you don't see what you are looking for in the cases. Great customer service is something I cherish, and I felt respected and appreciated, which I don't think would of been the case at a pawn shop. I would definitely return to sell, or buy. read more

Took in a bunch of old gold jewelry and was helped by Nick. He was so nice and made the whole experience comfortable. I will definitely come back again for selling or buying anything in the future. They let you know how much your gold is worth upfront with out any commitment to sell. I really loved my experience here and will recommend it highly to anyone who asks me for a place to sell their gold. They won't take advantage of you. The jewelry shop is beautiful and clean. I reviewed the L.A. Branch but I visited this branch. Pasadena. Visited 11/11. They're the only ones that are open later, and its totally safe. Until 7p but recommended. They take, gold, all kind, and silver etc. You must have an I.D. and its quick. :) All in cash, and safe well lit beautiful store. Thanks everyone!!! I've told everyone about this place! read more

I'm giving 5 stars because my experience overall was great. I brought in some gold pieces that I no longer had any use for, and sold them. The best part of the transaction was that they weren't pushy and were very friendly. I used to work with jewelers, but not in the gold business, so I was a definitely going in blind. I found 1 hour street parking on El Molino, and was in and out in 30-45 minutes. The security here is great too, you have to be buzzed in. Again, the people were very friendly, and answered all of my questions. As a general rule, I typically do not trust jewelers...in many ways I still don't. I don't like it when people try to sell things to me, and they didn't do that. Would I go back again? Sure! The jewelers from Downtown should take notes from this place. read more

Pay attention to the reviews of this place. I had never sold gold before and I am extremely happy that I walked through their doors. I was in desperate need of some cash as I didn't know how I was going to fill up my gas tank the following day. Traveling to Germany will do that, I suppose. They buzz you in, warmly greet you, and immediately business follows. Well, I was there when no one else was. They took a good look at my 14k gold necklace that I wanted to sell. The lady inspecting it was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the reasons why they put any item through a series of tests. Fortunately, my necklace passed as I'm sure it would. The process took less than ten minutes. The best part is the payout. I came her based on the other experiences I read about. It's no joke; They are reasonably generous and I'm glad that I didn't take my jewelry to a pawn shop. I was expecting to be low-balled, walking away with maybe a $100. Oh no.....It was much more. That made my day. read more

HIGHLEY Recommend! We had more than wonderful experience. Nick was extremely knowledgeable and super informative. He had a pleasant and friendly demeanor. We had no problem parking as we parked on the side street (i think its called Molino) and its not as busy as the Jewelry Mart in downtown LA, nor do you see any unsavory types. I never got the feeling that we would be 'taken advantage of''.....as he continually let you know what he was doing and would show us all the read-outs and behind him was this computer screen with all the stats on the price of gold according to the carats. I really recommed this place to everyone!!!!! for a few bangle braclets, a couple of gold necklace chains and a few odd and ends, we thought we might end up with $900 ---instead we walked away with a little more than $2000!!!!!!.... you cannot imagine how happy i was....i nearly did a cartwheel; I suggest not even going anywhere else...go straight for Nick at Cash for Gold in Pasadena... read more
