Making the reservation online was so fast and simple. The 50 min reservation went by so fast. Nicole guided me easily throughout the session when it came to indecisive moments. After the session, they do send out an email enlisting all the choices you made with the quote. If you decide to proceed with your engagement ring, you can choose to deposit 50% of the cost if you decide to proceed with the ring at the end of your appointment. My fiancé and I have visited the Brilliant Earth - Pasadena show room twice. Once in 2024 when they had just opened and again in 2025. Both times have been a pleasure and the associates were kind, patient, knowledgeable, and friendly! Ring shopping is exciting (when you know what you want and even if you don't know!). Nicole and Divya helped us most recently when we shopped for wedding bands and they were immensely helpful. When you arrive to the location in Pasadena, you will check in with the associates in the front and then be brought into a semi-private room to a table for you and your party. Water and chocolate are offered if you would like. Nicole went over the process at the table and then led us to the display boxes where we tried on a number of designs, some that we knew we were interested in and others at their suggestion. I'm glad that they offered suggestions because I ended up loving a 1/2 anthology band that I did NOT have on my radar at all prior to the appointment. My fiancé had a vague idea of what he wanted and they were able to show him almost every ring so that he could make a more informed decision. Ultimately, he decided to get a custom ring and Divya was able to connect him with the custom team while Nicole was able to focus on me and finalizing my wedding band decisions. Additionally, they cleaned my engagement ring (pictured which is also from Brilliant Earth) quickly and checked their stock for men's chains since my fiancé is also in the market for a new piece. I cannot recommend coming into the show room enough. Both times that I have been, I thought that I was sure about my preferences but seeing other options in person and on your skin tone, finger shape, and in combination with my other jewelry has been enlightening. I would happily be writing a 5 star review if not for their lack of transparency with their return policy. BUYER / SELLER BEWARE: if you sell back an old ring for metal credit your 30-day return policy gets nullified. You cannot return your new piece of jewelry at all. Even if the metal credit was $100 put toward a $5000 piece. This is not mentioned anywhere in their policy online or in person at their storefront. When asking their customer service where that policy is laid out they said it was an "internal policy". Now my fiancé is stuck with a ring she doesn't like from a company that doesn't give a sh** about their customers. Brilliant Earth is such a HUGE disappointment. My now fiancé visited to purchase earrings for me and also look at engagement rings. The sales people here ignored him. He was going to make two big purchases. He told them specifically what he was going to get and they just shrugged. They told him he could go online to get the ring since they didn't have it at this location. He was still looking in store for earrings and someone finally helped him. When he proposed and the ring was not from B.E. he told me the story. I could not keep the earrings out of principle. When we went to return them they did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. I also complained online and they did nothing or care about the lack of customer service at their store. This company does not care at all. You're getting absolutely ripped off if you go through this company. If you're in Pasadena, it means you're 20 minutes north of one of the biggest diamond districts in the world. Go to S. Hill St. in LA and find yourself a wholesale diamond dealer (I recommend Eli's diamonds, because I had a great experience with him (he has excellent classy taste and is very reasonably priced) but there are literally thousands of people to choose from). For example, I wanted diamond studs, 1.5ct each (so 3ctw)- I found them here vvs2 color E "excellent" cut, symmetry and polish ( but you should know that IGI and GIA do not certify any cuts other than round brilliant so if you're going for a fancy shape like a cushion, calling it an "excellent " cut means absolutely nothing and is a mere marketing gimmick, you need to se the diamond in person which you can't do without buying it- how stupid right?!!) and here at brilliant earth they cost $6000... downtown LA- I went to 4 different dealers and the prices were all about $2k... and the diamonds were NICER!! TLDR? Save yourself thousands and make the trip to LA's diamond district (it's not as scary as you think because there are a lot of security guards everywhere) and get yourself a customized diamond that you can see in person before you buy it! And you get the help of an expert searching for what you ask for!! It's such a no brainer I can't even believe this place is in business! read more

Staff were very friendly. The biggest issue is the LACK of COMMUNICATION and the fact when calling you can't speak to anyone in the store where you made your purchase. Appointment is mandatory!!! I think they have a decent selection, but you MUST have an appointment. I called in to see if they had a specific ring and they did and I told them I'd come in to see it today and they were like okay great, I got there within 30 minutes of calling them and they said oh it's appointment only so you can't see the rings which I found to be really frustrating. It's pouring rain and I drove in the rain to see the jewelry. She pulled 2 rings in a similar style that I was interested in, but I felt very rushed and if I was an odd customer. Overall, I can't say how the jewelry is and the overall buying experience, but I will say is that you MUST have an appointment or you're wasting your time. read more

This review considers factors that go beyond my visit to just the Pasadena store, but also some of my interactions that took place there. In short, we visited the Pasadena showroom and had a great time with the consultant there for our engagement ring session. He was knowledgeable and the selection of items was great. That would be where the good things stop because the process to get our ring following that initial visit was nothing short of awful, unprofessional, and unacceptable for a multi-million dollar business, hence the single star rating. For the more detailed version, continue reading. Unfortunately, my first draft was too long to fit in this box, so I'll have to condense the details. I had purchased the gemstone in April of 2023, knowing what my fiancée wanted but she wasn't ready for the engagement yet. Easy purchase and had the gem ready for the setting in the future. In June 2024, I began looking at the settings for a proposal later that month. I called them to inquire about the process of getting my gem set and they said that I would need to visit a showroom to place an order for the setting while also dropping off my gem. I asked what the soonest was and she said it wouldn't be until the following day because my closest store (an hour away) was short-staffed and couldn't help me (Misinformation #1). I made an appt for the next day, but also called back to inquire with someone else who happily said I could just swing by to place the order and drop off, no appt needed. Unfortunately because I spent so much time on the phone with the first person trying to see if I could even drop it off that day, it caused me to miss the courier pick up time, delaying the delivery of my ring, which will matter later. When I dropped off at Pasadena, the rep took my order for the setting, had me sign for the gem drop off, but never mentioned me needing to pay a deposit for the order itself. It wasn't until the next day when I called BE's support number (since they have no way for you to contact your local store directly) that I learned of her mistake. I called to ask if the courier had picked up my gem because we were in a pinch for the delivery and the rep said that no work could be begun until a deposit was paid. I told him I wasn't informed, but would pay it now to ensure no delays. I also asked if I could pay for expedited production, and he said no (Misinformation #2). I dropped off on Thurs, the deposit was paid Fri. On Sunday 6/9, I received an email saying that my order was almost ready to ship and that the final balance would need to be paid. I was surprised given that it was nearly 2 weeks ahead of schedule and it seemed too early, but I paid the balance anyway to make sure there wasn't a delay. I called their line again mid-week to inquire with someone else about the expedited option, to which they said yes for a fee of $165. Again, I opted for it to minimize the chance of a delay. The expected delivery would be 6/20, 2 days before the event date. It was mostly silence until 6/19, a day before the expected delivery, when I received an email saying that there was a delay, with no information on what should be expected next. This was extremely off-putting given that a notice of delay should have been given at least a few days earlier, not the day before the supposed delivery date. I immediately called and spoke with a rep who offered to ship me a loaner ring from the Pasadena store to have by 6/21 (Misinformation #3). His service was very poor, so I called back to speak with someone else to make sure everything would be done correctly. However, the next person I spoke with told me that the last rep's notes stated that I had declined the loaner ring and no request was placed for one! This new rep put in a ticket for a loaner ring from Pasadena, but couldn't confirm if one was actually available, leaving me to figure something out on my own. What's more is that the new delivery date was scheduled for 6/24, 2 days after the event date, but if they sent me a loaner ring, my actual order wouldn't be able to be delivered until the loaner was returned. They wouldn't allow me to put a hold on my credit card for the loaner ring, despite their constant mess-ups. I requested to speak with someone higher up due to the circumstances and haven been given all kinds of false information up to this point. The manager didn't call me until the next morning of 6/20, but I happened to miss their call. Although I called their direct number back immediately and left a voicemail as well as emailed them, they didn't get back to me for a whole 24 hours. To their credit, the manager got in touch with the production team and had the ring delivered on 6/22 (the day of the event), despite them having changed the delivery date. The ring literally arrived 2 hours before I needed to leave for the proposal. My fiancée ended up loving the ring, but was absolutely shocked when I told her how many challenges I had to face beforehand. read more

I was given a guarantee and one day prior to the date I received a delay notification for 1 week. the customer service brushed it off as if it was no big deal. Typical big company with false promises. if you can't deliver, don't bait and switch your customers with false promises. 4 stars for the service & the person we saw was very sweet and helpful ~ which is why it's getting a good rating. Selection was below standard & value was not good. 3.04 lab was approx $9,130 and 4.04 ct was approx $15,080. At actual jewelers you could get a 4ct lab for $5,000 or less. I knew this information so when I heard the prices i was actually shocked. I'd consider brilliant earth to be as overpriced as somewhere you'd find in the mall. Other things I didn't enjoy: selection was minimal. Not a single pear diamond on a setting was in store. We had to use our imagination while she placed a pear over an already filled ring. If you go to actual jewelers they have empty settings that they place the diamond on. Not here though.. in addition, most of what I liked seemed to be online... it felt like you'd fully need to use imagination with how you think your ring might look, while paying 4x the price. Might go back for my boyfriend's band but definitely won't be purchasing an overpriced ring here that I won't even get to see on my hand before buying. read more

Putting this across multiple locations as periods of time progress with no action and because it reflects their repair and resolutions departments, which are very out of sync and a headache to deal with. Started off well, but started to notice hardware issues like skewed stone and after one month of wear, accent diamond fell off. Had to repair and the repair took forever (over one and a half months), resulting in it not coming back in time for our engagement parties. Missed photo opportunities and lost moments. Had other events like family coming into town to visit and they weren't able to get to see it in person. Repair was delayed and the resolution compensation was a low-quality, cheap gift and not worth the additional 30 min wait for the resolutions managers to approve. Serious operations issues, delays weren't communicated, and we had to call in to receive updates. Investors need to enhance customer experience ASAP. For how much you are paying and for how much they seem to spend on advertising, it does not feel worth it. Would not recommend to friends and family, anymore. read more

Awful experience. Truly. Would give zero stars if I could. Purchasing an engagement ring should be an exciting experience. Going into it, I did not expect the process to be entirely stress free, but overall it should be a joyous experience. Brilliant Earth took advantage of every opportunity to let me down in this process and soured a special moment. From the start, the people I worked with overpromised and underdelivered. Our sales rep told us on day one that the ring would be ready in time for a specific proposal date only to later add the caveat, days later via email, that this would only be the case if we went with him as an independent jeweler instead of through Brilliant Earth. SHADY. When we instead decided to use a loaner ring for the proposal, and made an appointment to pick up that loaner ring, BE failed to communicate that it required corporate approval. All we were told was that as long as the manager at the location approved, then we could pick up the ring. My sister in-law drove to the store location expecting to be able to secure the loaner only to be turned away at the door. At that point, we were getting close to the proposal date and began to doubt whether or not we'd be able to have a ring ready given how unreliable BE had been up to this point. Thankfully we secured the loaner but not without having to call customer service and plea with them to expedite the approval. Troubles didn't end there. The refund for the deposit paid to use the loaner was significantly delayed after we returned it. Well beyond the 3-5 business days we were quoted. Had to yet again call customer service for updates. For the official ring, their customs department took 5 days just to email us to schedule a consultation appointment, and the appointment itself wouldn't be for another week after that. It then took another week following the consultation to receive a quote, all the while we were left in the dark not knowing the status of our order. We eventually decided to cancel the order entirely and return the diamond for a full refund as we were still within our 30 day window. We returned everything on Sept 15th, and were told the refund would be processed within 5 to 7 business days. It is now Sept 28th, 10 business days later and no refund. I filed an official complaint with the BBB and asked that they help me retrieve our refund. We've received calls from their corporate office following that complaint but all they've said to us so far is that they're looking into it. To Brilliant Earth, I cannot wait to receive this refund not only to have my money back but also so that I can officially walk away from your business and end this debacle. You offer overpriced jewelry and discounted customer service. I personally will never come back. To potential Brilliant Earth customers, proceed with caution. There are far better and more affordable options in the area. I encourage you all to shop around before getting in bed with this company. read more

Don't buy here unless you try it out in person. Rings have to be picked up exactly 60 days from the day they are ready. They won't even resize it. Be careful about the sizing. My boyfriend didn't know the size and they won't size it after 60 days and won't go lower than half a size because they said it affected the integrity of the ring. Spent $30,000 and not happy. Spoke to 4 representatives and their customer service is terrible. They don't make notes and don't follow up and their response is there's nothing they can do.
