My mom wanted some French fries, and I was looking for a place that cooks them in vegetarian oil. This was the first place I found. I heard great reviews about their burgers and other sandwiches, so I had to give it a try. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful attendant. He explained what the vegetarian burger was made out of (mushroom, cheese, grains, and another vegetarian ingredient), and the fries are fried in soybean oil. I bought a vegetarian (garden) burger (8 dollars) for my mom, a small side of fries (a little under 5 dollars) , and a chicken sandwich (8 dollars) for me. Various toppings were included, and you can select as much as you want. I took the order togo, and the attendant told me it will take about 6 - 8 minutes. I waited in a table, and was given my order within that time. When I took the order to my car, I immediately noticed the great smell of the fries. When I got home, the fries looked very nice. I also saw that my chicken sandwich was nicely portioned. The fries were pretty crisp and enjoyable with the requested chipotle mayo dipping sauce. The chicken sandwich had crispy and tender chicken with the right amount of the requested toppings. The Swiss cheese melted nicely, the grilled onions added flavor, and the jalapeno and chipotle mayo added a small kick. It was filling and quite enjoyable. The only thing I noticed was I had a little trouble determining which bun was the top, and which was the bottom. It wasn't an issue for me next whenever I ate, it still tasted very good! My mom also enjoyed her burger and fries, and found it filling too. The service was wonderful. Even though you could use an app or a kiosk, I ordered from the attendant and got an the information I needed. The food took some time to prepare, but was well worth it. The dining area was small, but had a decent amount of tables. It was clean too. This restaurant is located in Kirkman Shops and close to Agave Azul and Oodle. Parking wasn't too difficult on a Thursday evening. I am very happy that I gave this restaurant a try. It is worth the hype! It is almost casual sit down restaurant quality, and can give 5 Guys, Shake Shack, and other higher quality not so fast food burger restaurants a run for their money. I am so happy they are not limited to beef burgers, and also offer chicken and vegetarian options. Next time, I might cheat and try the beef burgers and also the shakes. This is indeed a very good choice for burgers in the Kirkman and Conroy Windermere area.

This is a classically good burger place with some modern adds. Sometimes burger places do too much, and I'm always like I just a good burger. This place delivers. Flavors are fantastic, food is fresh and then on the side you can get a fancy milkshake. Did someone say Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake, yes please. The staff was helpful and very nice. Service was fast, I was here for lunch and had no issues getting to my meetings on time. The ambiance is very chill but most importantly clean af! I can't wait to come back with my nieces.

Came here today for the first time. First, the owner/manager is the kindness most engaged leader I've seen in a while. He was very welcoming, shared info about the loyalty program with us, recommended food items, the full package. Customer service skills are at 100%! We signed up and all. The food quality is amazing. The place got pretty full while we ate but it did not feel crowded whatsoever. My bourbon bacon burger was so good, juicy and fresh. The brownie shake was amazing too. Finally a good neighborhood burger place! Will be back.

Absolutely amazing burgers every time! We had a Jake's Wayback in VA and we were so glad to see one in FL. My only wish is that they opened one in Dr. Phillip's so it was a little more convenient to get to. The menu has something for everyone and the food is always so fresh. They have specials all the time and there's always something new to try, while the reliable menu items are always available. The owner is super friendly and makes sure you're satisfied. Highly recommended the app or emails so you can know when there's a deal going on. The burgers are just the best, better than an other fast food and fast casual burger spot. 10/10 you gotta try them. The place is clean and the staff seem happy & clean as well.

Freshly opened and ready to serve delicious burgers on South Kirkman! Wayback Burger's is probably the best place to grab a burger and shake on Kirkman and was a delightful experience. Everyone was nice and helpful, they also were periodically asking if everything was good. The shake was delicious and tasted like a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch cereal and was a fresh made shake as well. In fact all the food is made fresh and to order, so expect to wait a little bit, but not too long. Plus the wait is worth it. The burgers were delicious smash burgers with lots of different choices or you could build your own with many toppings. When it arrives it is arriving fresh with all the melted cheese and toasted grilled bun. It is flavorful and worth the wait. You can order just the burger or get fries which were delicious as well. I highly recommend it here if you can make it to them!

The anticipation has been building for months and they have officially made it here from Waaayback! I walked in to a nice little space and was immediately greeted by two of the sweetest cashiers ever! Both ladies and the owner made sure that we had everything we needed and that our meal was perfect! I'm surprised the chef didn't peek around the corner eagerly awaiting our first bite for a thumbs up. I had the Cheeezy It was perfectly crispy on the outside and so fluffy on the inside. Only downside is that it was a bit greasy, but the flavors well out-way the messy hands! Also got the curds, which were good, but slightly overpriced. Oh! The Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake!! I will be the first to say I am not a milkshake girly, but did I keep sipping my partners and have I told multiple people about this milkshake throughout my week? Yes and yes.

Showed up around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. I was greeted immediately with a pleasant smile. Dining room was clean and spacious. Our food came out quickly and was HOT! (I LOVE HOT FOOD). I would have liked a larger portion of tots but everything was delicious!

The place is super clean and neat. Order at the counter or use the kiosk and they bring the food out to you. I was a little worried because all their burgers are 2 patties and many times that makes the bread to meat ratio wrong but they got it right. There is also an option to order a 1 patty build your own burger. The food was delivered quickly and was very fresh. The Cajun tots were.tasty, not overseasoned. The buns on the sandwiches were soft and fresh and the little cupcake on the red velvet shake was surprisingly tasty. The music featured was '70's and not too loud. The menu was varied and I'll be back to try some of their other creations.

We had a Universal day, and Wayback Burger was nearby and we decided to have dinner there. It was a bit busy and took a few extra minutes for us to get our food, but one person got there's like 15 minutes before the last person, and we all ordered around the same time. The food quality was superb! The burgers and condiments were fresh, and the fries and cheese curds were very tasty. We also had a brownie milkshake to share which we had to fight over because it was so good. Overall we had a great experience, besides the food coming out to our table of 4 at very different times since we all ordered around the same time. We downloaded their app and can't wait to come back!

This location opened in December 2024 and features a good number of tables along with a few cozy booths. I ordered a kids' cheeseburger meal, which came with fries and a drink. The food was absolutely delicious--a classic burger joint experience done right. During my visit, the owner, Simon, personally stopped by to see how I was enjoying my meal. Since I initially ordered to-go but decided to dine in last minute, he thoughtfully brought me a plate. His friendly and attentive service truly made my visit memorable. I can't wait to come back and try one of their milkshakes!

Amazing food! Fantastic customer service!!! The burgers, garlic fries, hot dogs and milk shakes are incredible!! Everything is clean and the staff is super helpful and friendly!

Classic burger

Nice ambience and very clean, we both ordered burgers, my husband got the classic while I tried the Bourbon burger. (Could actually taste the bourbon and a hint of mustard in the sauce, and it was delicious and I usually hate mustard.) The burgers were fantastic, but man the strawberry shake was so good I scarfed it down, and technically strawberry is not a flavor I usually go for but this wasn't too sweet, just right and tasted really good. We also had cheese curds, definitely try those, fried to perfection they were, light and crunchy! So all and all I would definitely come back, and these burgers are way better than any fast food place, so why not come here instead... it's worth it! Order at the counter and they are really nice, then go sit down, they bring the food over to you. Classic music plays not too loud, it's Christmas time so there was Bing Crosby, June Christy, and many others from bygone eras, but a few modern groups that sound like older classics as well like Pentatonix... the music kept us sitting there well after we finished our meal. Just an overall pleasant atmosphere and experience. This place is both kid and handicap friendly as well, so bring the whole family and have some of the tastiest burgers in town!

My wife and…read moreher parents are from Chicago, the home of Portillo's, so when they visit us, we have to go here! We do not normally come to this location but they are all pretty similar. This location is on 535 very close to SeaWorld, and also in a very touristy area. They have opened a few locations around Central Florida. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive thru. I think their food is best eaten there so its hot and fresh. Inside their decor is a mix of old timey cars and car hops. It reminds me of a restaurant you would find in the 60s. Its fun, the staff are fun, there is music and they also sell beer. I don't think I have ever really seen a fast food restaurant serving beer. Im sure they exist but I cant think of one. This is a fun environment, the staff calls your order out and then when its ready they use very fun slogans to tell you its time, such as "Order 165 it's time to shine" and "Order 173 come and meet me". This is perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money and also get a hot dinner or lunch. There were a lot of families in here eating dinner when we went. It is very touristy at this location, the shopping center it is in, also has a White Castle so just be prepared. There were plenty of parking spots though. Portillo's menu is very simple, they have hot dogs, burgers/chicken sandwiches, salads, bowls and Italian beef. However, they are most known for their Chicago style hot dogs. Their Italian beef is very good, they dip the sandwich in a hot au jus sauce. A Chicago dog has mustard, green relish, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a meal on top of the hot dog. My wife usually orders the Chicago dog with no onions or relish. I usually go for the Italian beef or one of their salads or bowls. I usually get something different each time. This visit, I actually went with the Italian Sausage and Beef combo served on a hoagie bun. This was a great combo and even my wife mentioned how the sausage was really good and something she would probably get next time. Service is always really great. Everyone is always nice and friendly. Someone is always cleaning the tables, everyone says hello, they are just really great with their service. Drinks can be refilled, you just need to go to the counter if they do not have their own self service machine. I would definitely recommend this chain. The food is great, service fantastic and a fun vibe inside. ACES!

It's a fun place and perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money. The food is pretty much hot dogs and burgers/chicken sandwiches, but they are known for their hot dogs, plain and simple. They also offer other options such as chicken, fish, burgers, salads and bowls and Italian beef. The Italian beef is fantastic, it gets dipped in a hot au jus sauce, but you can also ask for no dip as well. Their bowls are not like a rice bowl, it is their beef or sausage minus the bread. This is what my husband usually orders, and he loves it. I usually go for the Italian beef or the classic Chicago dog. A Chicago dog has mustard, the brightest green relish you have ever seen, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a big dog! This can be customized any way you want it, remove something add something, it is how you want it. This visit I did order the Chicago dog with no relish or onions. It's how I prefer it. My husband ordered something new, he tried the Italian Sausage and Beef combo which was served on a hoagie bun. The sausage was actually really so good! I think I found a new favorite item, I will be getting the sausage next time. The service is really great too, everyone is always friendly. They will give you refills; they call out your number really fun and it's just a great place. They read your order back when you order which I also really like. It is quick service, fast food whatever you want to call it, but they do make it an experience. I would definitely recommend this chain. This is new to Orlando, probably within the last couple years, but it brings a touch of the north down here! I love it! It is loud so kids can be loud. It is not super expensive so its a good meal for the family. There are a lot of items so there should be something for everyone. The only difference is the Portillo's in Chicago also have a huge pasta section which I miss. Their pasta was good! I would love to see it here.

Before my Mom and I went, we checked the closing hours. According to our online search, the restaurant closed at 9:30pm. We weren't far away and confirmed via GPS that we would get there by 9:03pm. As we were arriving, I noticed a worker had started removing the outdoor sidewalk sign back inside the restaurant. I asked the worker if they were closing and was told yes. The owner or manager, I would assume he was, stated we could come in. We drove around the building to a dark parking lot. Once we parked, the owner/manager, who was taking out the trash, questioned where I parked. I had parked behind, probably, his car which was closest to where we had to walk around to the front to enter the restaurant. I told him I quickly parked so we can get in and order. Once we entered the restaurant, we tried ordering. The owner/manager was very inpatient once he realized we were ordering food and not ice cream as he said he thought we wanted. I ordered a Chilli Cheese Dog (no bun). Mom got a Regular Hotdog (with condiments) and Plain Tater Tots. As we waited for our food, at least five people came in for ice cream. Our food was prepared in a reasonable time. We left approximately 9:23pm. Mom was satisfied with her food. My Chilli Cheese Dog was short on the Chilli. There was not a lot of Chilli on the hotdog.
