It was great stopping by close to midnight for a late night bite.... Until I got mild food poisoning. I tried their spicy chicken sandwich with the hot Giadiniera sauce. I've had this at other locations as well so I didn't venture out too far from the usual. I'm not sure what's in their Giadiniera sauce but that's what makes the chicken somewhat spicy. It still isn't super spicy and it's more of a mild spice but I love the flavor! I was so excited to have this but sadly I felt sick for 2-3 days after eating this so that was very unpleasant. We love Portillo's. We have been here for a few Yelp event as well as just on our own. My wife and her parents are from Chicago, the home of Portillo's, so when they visit us, we have to go here! We do not normally come to this location but they are all pretty similar. This location is on 535 very close to SeaWorld, and also in a very touristy area. They have opened a few locations around Central Florida. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive thru. I think their food is best eaten there so its hot and fresh. Inside their decor is a mix of old timey cars and car hops. It reminds me of a restaurant you would find in the 60s. Its fun, the staff are fun, there is music and they also sell beer. I don't think I have ever really seen a fast food restaurant serving beer. Im sure they exist but I cant think of one. This is a fun environment, the staff calls your order out and then when its ready they use very fun slogans to tell you its time, such as "Order 165 it's time to shine" and "Order 173 come and meet me". This is perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money and also get a hot dinner or lunch. There were a lot of families in here eating dinner when we went. It is very touristy at this location, the shopping center it is in, also has a White Castle so just be prepared. There were plenty of parking spots though. Portillo's menu is very simple, they have hot dogs, burgers/chicken sandwiches, salads, bowls and Italian beef. However, they are most known for their Chicago style hot dogs. Their Italian beef is very good, they dip the sandwich in a hot au jus sauce. A Chicago dog has mustard, green relish, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a meal on top of the hot dog. My wife usually orders the Chicago dog with no onions or relish. I usually go for the Italian beef or one of their salads or bowls. I usually get something different each time. This visit, I actually went with the Italian Sausage and Beef combo served on a hoagie bun. This was a great combo and even my wife mentioned how the sausage was really good and something she would probably get next time. Service is always really great. Everyone is always nice and friendly. Someone is always cleaning the tables, everyone says hello, they are just really great with their service. Drinks can be refilled, you just need to go to the counter if they do not have their own self service machine. I would definitely recommend this chain. Had the opportunity to try Portillo's again! Visited this place when they first opened a couple of years ago and so much has changed. Now they have kiosks to where you can order in private but still have a real-person at the cashier section ready to take your order. I got the Chicago style Polish sausage with the whole shabang on it: dog, mustard, chopped onions, tomatoes, sport peppers and added relish. Bun on the side. Came with hot, crispy fries and a fountain drink. Dog was delicious with everything on it! It marries each other well and the dog is consistent when I first tried it in Los Angeles like 15 years ago with my Dad. Shout out to Josh who took my custom order. Of course, Portillo's isn't complete without their famous tenders (purchased on my own). I visited Portillo's for the first time as part of a Yelp Elite Event in April 2026. With all of the hype I see online around this franchise, I expected to be blown away. I was in actuality, quite underwhelmed. Its a large pleasant t space, but I had no idea where to go to order and nobody who looked like they worked there offered a singular lost-looking man any assistance. I eventually wondered to the back to place my order. I got myself a beef and cheese with fries and drink as part of the Event. I also ordered a bunch more to take home and share with the family. (They agreed. Tasty. Nothing special). The guy at the order counter was NO help whatsoever. He didn't seem to understand this was my first time. The place was not busy. One couple in line behind me. Then when they called my order, they left off half of it. In short, if I'm craving a hot dog and I'm in the area, I might grab something there. I really did enjoy the beef and cheese. They also offer other options such as chicken, fish, burgers, salads and bowls and Italian beef. The Italian beef is fantastic, it gets dipped in a hot au jus sauce, but you can also ask for no dip as well. Their bowls are not like a rice bowl, it is their beef or sausage minus the bread. I love the fact that it is practically connected to the White Castle and a Wawa via the parking lot. So, after parking, you basically have the choice of going to any restaurant or even Jeremiah's. We went through the drive thru which was quick. There was a person outside to help and take our order. We ordered the 'big beef.' Which is what it's known for. I was hooked on Portillo's from living in Chicago back in the day, and their chicken chop salad always hits the spot. I was very excited to have Portillo's locations around Orlando. I am used to ordering online or at the counter, so ordering at a kiosk was a bit of a change, and felt a little impersonal while it was nice to be able to personalize my dish. I wanted to try the Plant-Based Veggie Dog for a meatless change. The hot dog tasted like a black bean patty - without a lot of flavor, so I was grateful for the accompaniments to spice it up. Like all Portillo's, the 50s diner style design is fun and cozy, but the size of this location (compared to others I've visited) felt more like a warehouse than the darker and cozier ones I'm used to. Really fun vibe inside and reminiscent of the OG Portillo's in Chicago. I appreciate the kiosks stands to expedite and alleviate the ordering experience as it's been awhile since I've had the original. This was also my wife's first time so we found it easy to browse the digital menu and came out with a large Italian beef with gravy dip on the side, a chili dog and chicken tenders for the kiddos. The tenders were huge for kids menu so that was a pretty good deal lol. The Italian beef was of course phenomenal. I will get it fully dipped next time as I think that would've made it much better and the side of gravy doesn't allow for that, hah. All good, it was still great and my wife really enjoyed the chili dog. She said she'd still get that over the beef. Something for everyone here. Chicago girlie here. It's been about 17 years since I have had a good Chicago style beef sandwich, and the day I finally decided to have one, it was not great. It wasn't worth popping a gluten pill for. The POS system they have is confusing also. Giardiniera peppers are the peppers. In the system they had Giardiniera sauce and "Hot Peppers". GTFO with that ... like, seriously. We were confused so we got the sauce because in Chicago, we call the peppers GIARDINIERA. I know this is Orlando, but let people learn the right nomenclature. After we got our meal, we had to go back and get the peppers. Note, they only have hot and they are scorching. I do love a medium Giardiniera. The sauce was inedible. The sandwich was dipped in a tasteless au-jous with very little meat. The onion rings were ok. My hubby got a hot dog and TBH Hot Dog Heaven's are so much better. I'm going to Chicago in October and definitely getting me an Italian Beef at Tre Amici Pizza in Palatine. Now those are incredible! While my mom and I were visiting Orlando Florida, we decided to stop by Portillo's for dinner on a Thursday evening. We decided to use the self-service kiosk so we could take a look at all of their different offerings! The restaurant had a wide range of Hot dogs, Beef & Sausage sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, salads, burgers, ribs, sides like French Fries, Shakes, and so much more! My mom ended up getting the Italian Beef Sandwich with French Fries and I got a burger with bacon and cheese, with a side of onion rings. We found a table, and waited about 10 minutes for our order. It wasn't too long! The char-broiled bacon cheeseburger was amazing! It was so flavorful and the bacon was super crunchy! The cheese was melting from the burger. It was so good, especially after a long day at the Universal Studios theme park! The onion rings were scrumptious! When you took a bite of the Onion Ring, the onion didn't fall off the breading! Here for a community yelp elite event at this Portillos. I have never seen a Portillos before with absolutely nobody in it; I came around a little bit after three and the AC is great in here. If you aren't familiar with Portillo's they are a Chicago hotdog joint not only do they have hotdogs, but they have fries, burgers, big beef and amazing chocolate cake. Today I ordered a big beef with a side of fries and a large root beer- If you haven't been to this Portillos it is located right off of Palm Parkway near the key Bob as well as across the street from the world of beer. 10/10 read more

I have enjoyed every item off their menu that I have tried and I come back for the Chicago, hot dog, Italian beef sandwich, and Polish sausage as staples in my diet. I don't like the kiosks so I always walk up and order with a human being at the register. On my latest visit I had some questions anyway so it was convenient. I was there for my birthday slice of cake and had questions about a coupon I had for merchandise. This location did not have much of the way of merchandise to choose from and the only thing they could recommend was a coffee mug, but I don't need another coffee mug. Thank you Yelp for this amazing event! This is one of my 4th or 5th time visiting This franchise and it doesn't seem to disappoint. I had different meals for each visit and they were delicious ! Had to vote this one to make my top 3 since I never tried the chicken sandwich. Delicious and fresh , but just one small detail of it being too saucy. Delicious , tangy, spicy, but just got messy so quick. Paired that with some crinkle fries and root beer and that definitely hit the spot. Of course I plan on visiting this location and trying other different kinds of entrees, sides , and desserts, but my main appreciation for this would have to be the service and atmosphere. Delicious as always! I got the regular hot dog and side salad, both delicious and no complaints. We also got the chocolate cake and it's amazing. A must try for sure!
