Caught these guys at Tasty Tuesday (last week) they normally aren't always there so it was a good surprise. After hearing about them I finally ordered some Cholo Dogs. They were phenomenal, in all honesty the Mexican one with the elote take on it...is hands down worth finding them again. I'm curious to have all of there menu items and I'm truly not a hot dog lover! That says a lot! Cholo Dogs is just a cart, and they only pop up around town occasionally. You'll have to follow them on IG to know where they are heading to next. Do it!

My 600th review goes to the amazing Cholo Dogs! I've been wanting to try this pop up for a long time and lo and behold they were at GB's Bottle Shop when we stopped in for some drinks. They had a deal of two dogs for $10. We ordered the Borracho topped with Mexican corn, cotija, Tajin, and cilantro and the Pelirroja with avocado sauce, crema, and Tajin (also usually comes with red onion but we omitted those). The gentleman slinging our weens was super friendly and cool to chat with during our short wait. We dug into our dogs and they are worth the hype I've heard! The dogs themselves are good quality and well prepared and the blend of flavors from the toppings are delicious! The Mexican corn is delicious and also available as a side so I'll definitely get some extra next time. Overall, Cholo dogs takes a basic food and makes it awesome! This will be a go to spot for a hot dog craving for me for sure!

I took a little walk to the Milk District for one of the Christmas Markets. There I met @cholodogs and I had to try them. With Nathans sausage and different combinations than what we are used too, they really nailed it, they were delicious!! In addition to the hot dogs, they also have refried, Mexican corn and danny defritos...

They never miss! Each Cholo dog we've had has been a hit and so amazing. They're our staple during Tasty Takeovers. Their entire menu is delicious, but I have to say that the Chicano and Cholo Dogs are my favorite. Get the 2 Weens for $10 and you're golden. The elote is good, but sometimes the corn quality is a bit inconsistent -- some days, the kernels are dry, and some days they're juicy (it's got the juice!). Service is loud, friendly, and fast. There's always a line, but I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for my meal. Grab lots of napkins and a Mexican coke, and dig in.

Omgggg' these hot dogs were amazing!!!! So yummy, tasteful and fresh! They were at the beermerica festival in Orlando that we attended to today and no complains except the wait was a little longer than I would assume If they weren't at an event this big but for sure will try again'

Cholo Dogs is one of my favorite food carts with their craft Mexican-inspired hot dogs. Although I've tried almost all of their varieties, my favorite is their La Pelirroja (avocado sauce, crema, diced red onion, and Tajin). They feature Nathan's hot dogs, but also have Smartlife veggie dogs as well! Service is always fantastic, and they always make the foodie popup scene a great time. They're busy!! I recommend following their Instagram to see where they'll be each week. And if you're at Amway Arena, they're there, too!! They're priced higher than their hot dog carts, but so worth it!

One of the best hot dogs I've had in while! I was surprised at how good refried beans are on a hot dog. 10/10 worth it for the value.

I actually like the theme of this place. It's fun and the weens are pretty good. Never had elites on top of a hot dog so that was something new. I will say the weens are a little pricey but if you go on a Wednesday it's BOGO which is nice. Also keep in mind this place is located inside a mini food hall (market on magnolia). So don't think it's one location for Cholo Dogs. They share the space which is cool since there's a bar area to enjoy your food and have a drink.

Don't let this little hotdog cart fool ya. They are serving up some unique flavors and slinging some good wieners! The prices can be on a bit of the higher end, but you get what you pay for. Service was great. The vibe was cool and they have cool merch, too. Check 'em out if they happen to pop up in your area.

El growler and Franco finisher were AMAZING! It was our first time getting them and they popped up right outside Gaston edwards park! The combo of ingredients on top of a typical hot dog and bun make this a fun treat to splurge on and enjoy- especially after having a couple of drinks. The food was great! It really makes me re-think how I eat my hot dogs at home. I wouldn't go back for the price point unless I was at another beer festival and enjoying myself!

    A few delicious dogs!

We have seen Cholo Dog around town for a while now and finally tried them when they were set up at Ellipsis Brewery! The hot dogs were so delicious and the side of corn made the meal even better. We will get it again for sure!

    Noel J.

Absolutely, hands down the best hot dog I have had. I normally don't eat hotdogs because they're gross. But these hot dogs, I love!! I tried 2 different hot dogs, pelirroja, which had avocado sauce, crema, red onions, and tajin. I also had the borracho, and it had Mexican corn, cotija, tajin, and cilantro. The flavors that were on those dogs were amazing! I also had the elote, which is a Mexican street corn!! Definitely will eat again!!

The Cholo dogs were yummy! I just wish they were a little bigger. I had a Chicano and my hubby got a Cholo. We had the Danny DeFritos (Fritos with sauces and spices) as a side. The Cholo guys were nice and the one taking orders was HILARIOUS! He kept us entertained while we all just stared at them. He told us the back story on the owner (hopefully it was true) and how he is a Mexican wrestler and his mask was adorning the menu.

Great local hot dog option. The Perfect vessel for Mexican food other than a taco. Only wish they were a tad larger.

My wife and…read moreher parents are from Chicago, the home of Portillo's, so when they visit us, we have to go here! We do not normally come to this location but they are all pretty similar. This location is on 535 very close to SeaWorld, and also in a very touristy area. They have opened a few locations around Central Florida. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive thru. I think their food is best eaten there so its hot and fresh. Inside their decor is a mix of old timey cars and car hops. It reminds me of a restaurant you would find in the 60s. Its fun, the staff are fun, there is music and they also sell beer. I don't think I have ever really seen a fast food restaurant serving beer. Im sure they exist but I cant think of one. This is a fun environment, the staff calls your order out and then when its ready they use very fun slogans to tell you its time, such as "Order 165 it's time to shine" and "Order 173 come and meet me". This is perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money and also get a hot dinner or lunch. There were a lot of families in here eating dinner when we went. It is very touristy at this location, the shopping center it is in, also has a White Castle so just be prepared. There were plenty of parking spots though. Portillo's menu is very simple, they have hot dogs, burgers/chicken sandwiches, salads, bowls and Italian beef. However, they are most known for their Chicago style hot dogs. Their Italian beef is very good, they dip the sandwich in a hot au jus sauce. A Chicago dog has mustard, green relish, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a meal on top of the hot dog. My wife usually orders the Chicago dog with no onions or relish. I usually go for the Italian beef or one of their salads or bowls. I usually get something different each time. This visit, I actually went with the Italian Sausage and Beef combo served on a hoagie bun. This was a great combo and even my wife mentioned how the sausage was really good and something she would probably get next time. Service is always really great. Everyone is always nice and friendly. Someone is always cleaning the tables, everyone says hello, they are just really great with their service. Drinks can be refilled, you just need to go to the counter if they do not have their own self service machine. I would definitely recommend this chain. The food is great, service fantastic and a fun vibe inside. ACES!

But we came here for a Yelp event and it is just as fantastic as other locations! The restaurant itself, has indoor and outdoor seating, along with a drive thru. The inside is a mixture of cars and tires meet tourists meet your old-fashioned car hops. It is a very fun environment. Music is on, everyone is friendly, and they are very funny calling out your numbers. Such as "Order 252 it's time to meet you" or "Order 365 it's time to shine". It's a fun place and perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money. The food is pretty much hot dogs and burgers/chicken sandwiches, but they are known for their hot dogs, plain and simple. They also offer other options such as chicken, fish, burgers, salads and bowls and Italian beef. The Italian beef is fantastic, it gets dipped in a hot au jus sauce, but you can also ask for no dip as well. Their bowls are not like a rice bowl, it is their beef or sausage minus the bread. This is what my husband usually orders, and he loves it. I usually go for the Italian beef or the classic Chicago dog. A Chicago dog has mustard, the brightest green relish you have ever seen, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a big dog! This can be customized any way you want it, remove something add something, it is how you want it. This visit I did order the Chicago dog with no relish or onions. It's how I prefer it. My husband ordered something new, he tried the Italian Sausage and Beef combo which was served on a hoagie bun. The sausage was actually really so good! I think I found a new favorite item, I will be getting the sausage next time. The service is really great too, everyone is always friendly. They will give you refills; they call out your number really fun and it's just a great place. They read your order back when you order which I also really like. It is quick service, fast food whatever you want to call it, but they do make it an experience. I would definitely recommend this chain. This is new to Orlando, probably within the last couple years, but it brings a touch of the north down here! I love it! It is loud so kids can be loud. It is not super expensive so its a good meal for the family. There are a lot of items so there should be something for everyone. The only difference is the Portillo's in Chicago also have a huge pasta section which I miss. Their pasta was good! I would love to see it here.

Before my Mom and I went, we checked the closing hours. According to our online search, the restaurant closed at 9:30pm. We weren't far away and confirmed via GPS that we would get there by 9:03pm. As we were arriving, I noticed a worker had started removing the outdoor sidewalk sign back inside the restaurant. I asked the worker if they were closing and was told yes. The owner or manager, I would assume he was, stated we could come in. We drove around the building to a dark parking lot. Once we parked, the owner/manager, who was taking out the trash, questioned where I parked. I had parked behind, probably, his car which was closest to where we had to walk around to the front to enter the restaurant. I told him I quickly parked so we can get in and order. Once we entered the restaurant, we tried ordering. The owner/manager was very inpatient once he realized we were ordering food and not ice cream as he said he thought we wanted. I ordered a Chilli Cheese Dog (no bun). Mom got a Regular Hotdog (with condiments) and Plain Tater Tots. As we waited for our food, at least five people came in for ice cream. Our food was prepared in a reasonable time. We left approximately 9:23pm. Mom was satisfied with her food. My Chilli Cheese Dog was short on the Chilli. There was not a lot of Chilli on the hotdog.
