Hotdog Heaven is a staple in Orlando and is a great place to quench your hotdog cravings. The restaurant is pretty small and there is typically a line to order but the process goes quickly. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered a Chicago dog with fries and macaroni salad and the portion sizes were quite big. The meal was good but the macaroni salad could use some improvement. All in all, I was satisfied.

An Orlando institution that you can see from the road, it was our first time going to Hot Dog Heaven. Looks can be deceiving, and you can not tell how busy the place is going to be just from those looks. If there is a line outside, then double that for the people waiting inside. We were very surprised at how busy it was consistently through our time there. Service was extremely quick, and we got our food within minutes of ordering. The hotdog have that snap to them when you bite them. The toppings were delicious. We had two Chicago dogs, a Polish sausage, a Reuben dog, and a normal hotdog. Overall feelings were that it was better than average I'm glad to say that we went and tried them out. If the family liked hotdog more, we would definitely go again. Prices were very reasonable, drinks are in large cups, and have free refills. And if you're over 17, no ketchup on your hotdog!

4.5 Stars One of the best lunch spots in Orlando and an absolute local gem! It's very no-frills, but delivers on friendly service and full flavor. I love The Great Chicago Fire basket and the Chili and Kraut Dog. They pack them with toppings and flavor and, if you get the basket, they are so generous with the fries. I don't know why, but the fries are so fresh every time we come here. They only have outdoor seating that looks out onto the busy road, so we actually prefer to walk to the little park across the street in the back and sit at one of the picnics tables there.

The Chicago dog was great, had all the toppings & the fries were my fav type of cut. Everything was great, at a certain point a hot dog should never cost THAT much though no matter how good it is... so that loses a star

I enjoy a good chili dog and Hot Dog Heaven is one of the top 2 places in Orlando to enjoy one. The diced onions are a great add on to the chili dog. I always buy the chili dog and then buy and enjoy another one of their fabulous menu choices.. The ice they put in the drink cup is also a big hit for me.

This has been an Orlando staple for many years. I finally able to try it after 30 plus years here. It's a no frills old school restaurant. The focus is Chicago dogs and they hit the mark. The decor is heavily Chicago influenced like their delicious dogs. Well prepared and a good combo of ingredients. Plenty of fries in the basket, a little too much. Overall a good experience.

The pickle was good. Wish the hotdogs were grilled instead of boiled and the relish wasn't sweet relish. The chili lacked flavored and I'm not a big fan of sliced cheese on my chili dog. The fries were seasoned well but tasted old. The woman who took my order was very friendly and the place was packed. I think it's cool that they use Hershey ice cream for the shakes but I'm not willing to pay $8 for it. They have plenty of seating but the inside is very narrow and doesn't seem to have enough walking space for the large crowd that was there.

It's like they picked up a piece of Chicago and dropped it here in Orlando. The best authentic Chicago style hotdogs & sausage and enjoy it surrounded by everything Chicago. I love it and couldn't recommend it more. Everyone needs a favorite hotdog spot that's not a chain. Hotdog Heaven is mine

Classic. Delicious. The only place for Chicago dogs. Always clean, friendly employees and the fries are sooooo good!

Food was piping hot and delicious. So many options with so many toppings. Do not expect any frills, you won't find any, you'll find picnic tables on the lawn if your lucky, but the food is amazing. The service was good too. Have and will go back many times

Jumbo Chicago & fries were delicious!

I have been wanting to Hot Dog Heaven for over 10 years. Never got the chance until today. Very good. A bit pricey but what isn't in the food world nowadays? Had the jumbo Chicago with fries & slaw. Very filling for a hot dog & that's coming from a big eater. The fries are excellent and I was served more than enough. Coleslaw was good too. As previous reviews stated I can attest they are very friendly . Overall great experience. In the mood for a hot dog? Come here. 5 stars!

Good quality hot dogs and their fries are amazing! Also tried the coleslaw, did not disappoint. For my hot dog choice, I had spicy Chicago dog. It had jalapeños and a good amount of onion. You have to sauce it yourself, which is a plus for me. Had the food out very quickly and service was great overall! It does get packed, so be ready to stand in the line.

I have been going to Hotdog Heaven for years and I have never been disappointed. My wife always gets the Chicago Dog and I get the Chili Dog We share one order of fries. My place to go for home town hotdogs, that is, Illinois hotdogs.

My wife and…read moreher parents are from Chicago, the home of Portillo's, so when they visit us, we have to go here! We do not normally come to this location but they are all pretty similar. This location is on 535 very close to SeaWorld, and also in a very touristy area. They have opened a few locations around Central Florida. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive thru. I think their food is best eaten there so its hot and fresh. Inside their decor is a mix of old timey cars and car hops. It reminds me of a restaurant you would find in the 60s. Its fun, the staff are fun, there is music and they also sell beer. I don't think I have ever really seen a fast food restaurant serving beer. Im sure they exist but I cant think of one. This is a fun environment, the staff calls your order out and then when its ready they use very fun slogans to tell you its time, such as "Order 165 it's time to shine" and "Order 173 come and meet me". This is perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money and also get a hot dinner or lunch. There were a lot of families in here eating dinner when we went. It is very touristy at this location, the shopping center it is in, also has a White Castle so just be prepared. There were plenty of parking spots though. Portillo's menu is very simple, they have hot dogs, burgers/chicken sandwiches, salads, bowls and Italian beef. However, they are most known for their Chicago style hot dogs. Their Italian beef is very good, they dip the sandwich in a hot au jus sauce. A Chicago dog has mustard, green relish, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a meal on top of the hot dog. My wife usually orders the Chicago dog with no onions or relish. I usually go for the Italian beef or one of their salads or bowls. I usually get something different each time. This visit, I actually went with the Italian Sausage and Beef combo served on a hoagie bun. This was a great combo and even my wife mentioned how the sausage was really good and something she would probably get next time. Service is always really great. Everyone is always nice and friendly. Someone is always cleaning the tables, everyone says hello, they are just really great with their service. Drinks can be refilled, you just need to go to the counter if they do not have their own self service machine. I would definitely recommend this chain. The food is great, service fantastic and a fun vibe inside. ACES!

The food is pretty much hot dogs and burgers/chicken sandwiches, but they are known for their hot dogs, plain and simple. They also offer other options such as chicken, fish, burgers, salads and bowls and Italian beef. The Italian beef is fantastic, it gets dipped in a hot au jus sauce, but you can also ask for no dip as well. Their bowls are not like a rice bowl, it is their beef or sausage minus the bread. This is what my husband usually orders, and he loves it. I usually go for the Italian beef or the classic Chicago dog. A Chicago dog has mustard, the brightest green relish you have ever seen, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a big dog! This can be customized any way you want it, remove something add something, it is how you want it. This visit I did order the Chicago dog with no relish or onions. It's how I prefer it. My husband ordered something new, he tried the Italian Sausage and Beef combo which was served on a hoagie bun. The sausage was actually really so good! I think I found a new favorite item, I will be getting the sausage next time. The service is really great too, everyone is always friendly. They will give you refills; they call out your number really fun and it's just a great place. They read your order back when you order which I also really like. It is quick service, fast food whatever you want to call it, but they do make it an experience. I would definitely recommend this chain. This is new to Orlando, probably within the last couple years, but it brings a touch of the north down here! I love it! It is loud so kids can be loud. It is not super expensive so its a good meal for the family. There are a lot of items so there should be something for everyone. The only difference is the Portillo's in Chicago also have a huge pasta section which I miss. Their pasta was good! I would love to see it here.

Before my Mom and I went, we checked the closing hours. According to our online search, the restaurant closed at 9:30pm. We weren't far away and confirmed via GPS that we would get there by 9:03pm. As we were arriving, I noticed a worker had started removing the outdoor sidewalk sign back inside the restaurant. I asked the worker if they were closing and was told yes. The owner or manager, I would assume he was, stated we could come in. We drove around the building to a dark parking lot. Once we parked, the owner/manager, who was taking out the trash, questioned where I parked. I had parked behind, probably, his car which was closest to where we had to walk around to the front to enter the restaurant. I told him I quickly parked so we can get in and order. Once we entered the restaurant, we tried ordering. The owner/manager was very inpatient once he realized we were ordering food and not ice cream as he said he thought we wanted. I ordered a Chilli Cheese Dog (no bun). Mom got a Regular Hotdog (with condiments) and Plain Tater Tots. As we waited for our food, at least five people came in for ice cream. Our food was prepared in a reasonable time. We left approximately 9:23pm. Mom was satisfied with her food. My Chilli Cheese Dog was short on the Chilli. There was not a lot of Chilli on the hotdog. Our experience of the Doghouse boils down to old, bland, unappetizing food and rude service. Shame, too, as I love a good Chicago hotdog.
