We called to place an order for pick up, and the person on the line rudely stated "we don't have time to take your order, you have to come in." unfortunately, I never even got to try the burgers because I went into the restaurant with my mother at 8:40 PM and was immediately met by the manager who literally put his arms out and rushed us out and told me that they are closed and we cannot eat here because they are closing! But they were not closing for another 20 minutes . We could've ordered a couple burgers and fries and taken it to go ! Completely rude, he just wanted us out and wanted to go home. One of the worst owners probably in the history of restaurants. She's not in it for the quality of service. She doesn't pay her employees and when she does the checks bounce and she doesn't try to rectify that this is a 0/10 establishment in my opinion. Multiple employees have walk out on her for lack of pay and all of her managerial staff at the beginning was overdrafted in their account because her check bounced with a few employees. Ordered online. Our second time eating here. The first time, several months ago was pretty good. Went in to pick up our order this time and the employee just stared at us like we were stupid, didn't ask for a name or anything. Rude service. Got home and the burgers were so dry and gross we couldn't even finish them. I'm pregnant and was CRAVING a burger. Honestly, p terrys was better than this the last time I had it. It sucks because we live very close and would come here often if it was worth the money. I would definitely avoid doing business with this place. I wish I had read the reviews before I placed my order because evidently, they've disappointed many people. I ordered the "Cheeeesy Burger" and it was terrible. One slice of cheese, but advertises four slices, and the meat was flavorless and dry. They definitely rely on good photography because what you get is far different from their photos. I also ordered the Mac and Cheese bites, but unfortunately cannot comment on how they were because they were left off the order. When I asked for a refund, I was told they "don't offer refunds". What!?!? So now, I have to dispute the charge directly with my bank. Fantastic way to run a business. Customer service is so piss-poor these days so unfortunately this is not surprising, but to have a business actually tell a customer they will not issue a refund for an item they did not receive is deplorable. I saw the pending opening of this location and was excited about the possibility of a 'wayback burger', thinking that meant old school burgers like in the '50s & '60s.....you know when everything was real and healthy....like grassfed.....I asked if the beef was grassfed and they had no clue what that meant....I asked what breed of cattle it was sourced from and they told me "5% fat and 95% meat".....most likely not angus since they would promote that if they had it....imho, anything less than 80/20 isn't fit to eat...on a positive note, the clueless staff were friendly, the place was clean (of course, it's brand new) and the shakes were great.... read more

Tried this one today. Disappointing. Young man at register had to ask his co-workers several times because he did not know answers to basic questions. Two items were not available because they lacked ingredients. Both items were on the featured eats menu. Burgers lacked any kind of seasoning or flavor. Place was clean, but won't be back. read more

The burgers are amazing. Fresh condiments. Perfectly cooked patties. My wife loved the fries.

Doesent even pay workers the promised 15 an hr, the management is okay but could be A LOT better if you do work there be mindful that you are NOT getting paid 15 or 14 the base is apparently 13 even as low as $10 which is outrageous considering the rushes you get sometimes read more

Avoid this place if possible. I've ordered twice and the first time the food looked like it was packaged, thrown against the wall and then given to me. Second time I ordered a $9 shake that looked nothing like the picture on the menu. When I asked the employee why it looked so different, he replied, "The manager doesn't want us putting toppings on the shakes anymore". Cutting corners to save a few cents. Wife and I tried it on a whim and it was so good we came back three more times in a month and a half. This is a good classic American burger. Better than fast food. Had this place twice - food is good and tasty, we got what we ordered and timely. They checked in to make sure all was well. Read reviews with a grain of salt...people complaining that teenagers don't know if it is grass fed, slow service (probably when they first opened), etc. Accept it for what it is, pretty good fast service joint to grab a bite to eat. read more

This is my first time trying Wayback Burgers and I feel I should warn those who enjoy an excellent burger to stay away. I ordered from DoorDash might be a reasonable flaw to the service and temperature upon arrival. However I heard great reviews from people who had great experiences at this establishment and said it was worth a try and so tonight I decided to. We ordered a simple cheese burger, a bacon chicken sandwich and a kids grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was 2 hamburger buns with 2 pieces of American cheese in them not even melted. The chicken sandwich was very undercooked I had to throw it in my air fryer to finish it off. The hamburger, well let's say lack of seasoning and comparable to McDonald's on appearance. All the food was unpleasant in taste and I believe I have food poisoning now. The price is too much for what I wasted tonight. So take a risk if you want but there are better burgers out there in Austin. Shame on you Wayback Burgers. read more

Went here with 2 friends. We all ordered within a minute or two of each other. I had the Philly Cheesesteak and it was a major disappointment. Barely any meat and a kraft cheese slice un-melted over the top. The 2nd friend in our party ordered the chili cheese dog and it came out a full 8 minutes after mine and he also ordered pickles TWICE and they never gave them. He said it was an ok chili cheese dog. Our third in the party also ordered a chili cheese dog and by the time I was done and our other friend was done (about 15 minutes) they let him know they were out of hot dogs but could refund the meal. On the refund they even penny pinched and only refunded the hot dog and not the drink. Very cheap and poor service. read more

Hi, I'm Joe i have read many reviews on our Leander location, and some of you are right on. When she opened this location all she had was high schoolers except for a few of us. It was a mess at 1st, but i think we got it right now, if you read the negitive reviews, they were all posted right after we opened. PLEASE give us another try i think you'll find a much better experiance. As far as bounced checks, it was her bank without her knowledge. A check went through and her bank was questioning the signature and halted all checks at this location, later all checks was covered and any cost was covered by her bank for their mistake. I'm am sadden by a former employee who was on camera putting food in his backpack not paying for it, wanting to try to make her look bad. I will back this owner, at 1st it was rough. But i understand where shes coming from. A restaurant can make it or fail over the little things such as excessive condiment, false reviews. Now i can honestly say,Bonnie Thank you for trusting me. Now another thing i would like to explain, so many people told her i personally heard a few of these when she 1st opened if she did'nt give them free food she was going to be dragged on social media.
