Awesome service and great ownership! Wish i could bring in more business. Needs a little more vegetable to plates

Today is National cheeseburger day and my husband and I decided to try someplace new. We asked the girl taking orders if there were any specials for the day. She wasn't sure what we were asking. She even told us that her English wasn't very good. Eventually, we got to "plain cheeseburgers were $3.50", great. My husband asked if they did a lettuce wrap or if they had gluten-free buns, as he is celiac. She said yes, they could do both. He asked for a gluten free bun and a double bacon burger. He pointed to the glamorous pictures of the burgers on the wall and asked her "will my burger looked just like that"? she said yes. Well, not only was that completely untrue. It was not good. He received, two sad looking, thin patties, no cheese, no tomato, pitiful little pieces of wobbly, undercooked bacon all hiding under the wilty lettuce. The poor kid in the back who was actually cooking the burgers had to also run the food out because she was busy at the counter with more customers. When he set my husband's burger down, we both just laughed at it. We asked the kid about the gluten-free buns, he said we don't have those. Poor kid, he felt bad. He was doing his part the best he could. It makes no sense to have someone taking orders who struggles with English and doesn't understand the menu or gluten free. We will not be going back. (And I didn't even mention my conversation with her about the carbonation being out on the soda machine, forget it) We will not be going back. read more

We decided to get out of our rut and try something new to us. My first impression was the place had really cute decor. Unfortunately the positive comments end there. We ordered two different kinds of cheeseburger with unique toppings on each. The toppings were crisscrossed. We double checked the receipt we had ordered correctly. The counter server could not comprehend the problem without a long explanation and discussion. We finally got our remade burgers, the bottom bun was completely soggy. I wondered if they had reused our original bottom bun. We both found the burger bland. We also tried the onion rings and fried pickle chips. Both of which were also flavorless. The counter server filled our cups with more ice than we would like. When I asked to dump half the ice, she dumped it back into the ice bin. Granted, it was a clean, unused cup, but that still gives me pause regarding their sanitation techniques and training. read more

A pretty good size burger. The meat was a little greasy but still tasty. The good news is it didn't spike my glucose. Wayback Burgers offers several different burgers and they just the calorie count on the menu. I think there burgers and milk shakes are their specialty. You order at the counter and they brought me my order when it was done. This place was clean even the restroom which by the way had nice paper towels. read more

My husband and I went to Wayback for the first time yesterday. This was around lunch time and the place was empty. We ordered a couple of classic burgers, order of fries, order tater tots, 3 shacks, and a plain patty for our dog. I ate 1/2 a burger when I got home and a few fries. And 30 minutes later I ended up with severe heartburn. I threw up everything. It was the worst 70+dollars we ever spent. I ended up throwing everything away. I will never go back! read more

Tried out the Wayback burger that opened a few months ago. I found it in the middle of the buildings. When you walk in their are tables to the right and a wall, then tables lines up to the left by the windows. I got in line with only two people in front of me at the registers. Well, the registers must have been malfunctioning as it took so long. I think the worker who took my order was just hired that day. She was slow but I was patient. Ordered the Sweet Bourbon burger with swiss cheese. Sounded good. I waited for a while getting rung up, then paid. Took a seat near the window to wait for my order. By now there is a long line but it was moving slow. Ten minutes later a cook from the back brought me my food. Took the bag and headed home. The burger was still warm upon arrival at home. I've been to Wayback Burgers multiple times and it's been consistently solid. The burgers are legit fresh, cooked right, and actually satisfying, and the service is always friendly and on point. I ate here yesterday and I have to say that I was so disappointed. The burger was so greasy that I had to ask for a different bun. Then still it was not good! You have to brown the meat to cook the grease out. The French fries were frozen which is fine if you aren't paying $18 for burger fries and drink with a small tip. I ate a few bites and the grease grossed me out so I threw it away. This business better step it up if they want to charge the price that great burgers are. In and Out burger is far more better and a fraction of the price. I don't mind paying for good food but to throw it away because I didn't have time to go back for a refund is a waste of money! read more

Was craving a chicken sandwich on Saturday night but didn't want to go to any busy restaurants. Upon doing a quick google search, this place popped up and we ended up coming here as they were about to close in 30 minutes. I knew about this place from their grand opening but had forgot about it since it's not so close to my home. We ended up coming here. There was no one in the restaurant and 3 employees working. We quickly ordered a hamburger and my grilled chicken sandwich With fries and a shake. Honestly most of the food was fine except my grilled chicken sandwich. Grilled chicken was still frozen in some bites. I didn't want to complain at that point as it was late and they were almost closing. Overall restaurant was clean and food was fine. Everything was freshly made to order and arrived hot. The Cajun Remoulade on the big easy gave the burger a good amount of flavor. The bacon is crispy and thin with no fat. The fries were nothing unique but they were hot. A decent amount of seating inside and within a new shopping center. Overall, the menu had a couple of signature items but the key thing is you can create your own to order. They also have hotdogs, chicken, and even vegan options. Wayback Burgers just opened in Cedar Park on W Whitestone Blvd (FM 1431) directly across the street from Bush's Chicken. It's in a brand new shopping complex next to E MD. The restaurant is nice sized and the tables are NOT crowded together. The dining area, serving area, kitchen (glass enclosed), and restrooms are very clean and uncluttered. Unlike many new restaurants, it has a proper ceiling and other things to keep noise down. The background music was at the proper level. Too many restaurants are designed where there is sensory overload and customers cannot carry on a conversation. Took my mom to Wayback for lunch. Large easy to read menu posted on the wall. Lots of choices along with images of the burgers. We were waited on by Melissa. Nice young lady from Cuba who was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Sweet Bourbon Bacon Burger with Pepper-jack cheese and onion rings and a drink ($16.48). My mom ordered the Wayback Classic with fries and a drink ($13.78). Melissa brought the trays to the table fairly quickly. Nice presentation. The burgers appear a bit small. The buns are smaller than those at many restaurants. This is actually a plus as it's less fluff and carbs. But each burger has 2 patties. I watched the staff freshly cook each patty for the burgers. Good texture to the buns. Love the ooey gooey way the cheese was melted. Flavor of both burgers were good. Large amount of fries and onion rings. Onion rings has a nice crunch and sweet onion flavor. First, understand that this review was written while the restaurant had only been opens for a few days. The staff was reasonably friendly and clearly still getting up to speed which was expected. Prices were comparable with other burger places. Food ran a slow which is expected as it just opened;however, if they end up getting a large rush it will quickly be problematic. Inside was nice and clean which against is expected at the place is new. The decor is nice and modern. The food itself varies. The fries were good. Definitely not the best, nor the worse. I'd say average. The burger was ok. The patty itself was good and the toppings(lettuce/tomato) all appeared really fresh. The bread was not good and very "dry". I also had an apple pie shake that was legit. It also should be really good because is pretty pricey. Wanna say $7 or $8 for the special shakes and a $1 less for chocolate, vanilla, strawberry,Oreo. Regardless, it was a good darn shake. It's worth a visit. I don't think it will ever win any awards, but it's definitely another option. There are lots of fun sides like Cajun bites, fried pickles, and Mac & cheese bites that we didn't try that sounded good. As far as fast food burgers are concerned, you really can't beat Wayback Burgers. From the classics to the more gourmet, they have you covered with perfectly crafted burgers and fries! The service is impeccable, which is no small feat because every time I've been, they have a very scrappy team that is busting their butts to get your food to you promptly. Consider tipping them. They deserve it! Ambiance feels like any fast food establishment but cleaner. No sticky floors or weird smells. read more

We came in today for the grand opening special BOGO classic burger and they were delicious! I had cheddar cheese & BF had swiss. Other than that, we didn't change a thing. They were so good!!! Average burgers with VERY overpriced sides. Burger is on the small size, think Big Mac instead of Whataburger. It came with either too much sauce (mustard dripping out of the burger) or not enough (bbq sauce only in the center of the burger). I can live with that but the side is a total rip off. We paid $7.99 for a large tray of cheese and bacon fries and was told it is a full plate. It came out in a regular small paper tray. I asked and they told me that the paper tray is a large!!! I see people posting plates of fries on Yelp so I am very skeptical and they are telling me the truth. It was also very salty with lukewarm cheese sauce. The service was outstanding (had 2 people come ask how everything was while we were there), the food was really good. The bun was fresh and soft. We are excited to try their other items like shakes, they looked super good. But it was right after new years so we were trying to eat a little better lol. This was for the Cedar Park location on 1431. As far as the reviews for takeout. It is actually a bad sign if your food was like McDonalds and not soggy and starting to already break down after 15-20 minutes. The staff are uncomfortable. The food is generic. The taste is boring. Similar quality for mass chain fast food at triple the cost. I spent $25 on an order for 1 person. It felt like rebranded McDonalds. Good luck communicating with the staff, they literally cannot hear you cause they are listening to their music on their headphones as you try to talk. It's a bad sign when they have to take out their AirPods to go "what" when you are in the middle of your order. I think McDs has better accountability than that.
