My daughter was served an EXTREMELY RAW hamburger in her kids meal tonight. And when I say raw, I do not mean "a little pink" or "undercooked." Look at the photos. The center of this hamburger was cold, pink, raw ground beef. Even worse, my daughter actually TOOK A BITE OF IT before I realized what she had been served. I immediately made her spit it out. I am beyond furious. This was a CHILD'S MEAL. There is absolutely no excuse for a hamburger intended for a child to leave a restaurant kitchen in this condition. This isn't a complaint about how we prefer our burgers cooked. Ground beef carries a very different food-safety risk when it is undercooked, and this burger was nowhere remotely close to being properly cooked through. The fact that the center was actually cold makes this even more unbelievable. Someone prepared this. Someone put it on a bun. Someone served it to a child. At no point was this caught. I have photographs documenting exactly what she was served, and I am absolutely livid that my daughter was put at risk because of such a serious and completely preventable food-safety failure. What a great place! We met with my cousin during our visit to Texas! As you enter the front door you're directed to the order line. Once you order they find you a table and your order is brought to you. It was busy but not too busy where we couldn't hear eachother. Plenty of indoor/ outdoor seating. Great food! Friendly staff! I had an issue with my order and without hesitation the staff corrected the issue. The manager even delivered it to our table. No attitude, she just wanted to make sure everything was ok. In town, at a local hotel, while visiting my grandmother who is in the hospital and needed a bite to eat. I didn't feel like fast food but had no idea where to go. I wanted somewhere close by because I'm flat out exhausted. I happened across this place and took a chance on it. The outside looked cool and inviting. I walked inside and a sweet young girl helped me at the register. I told her it was my first time visiting and she was patient and kind in answering my questions. She never rushed me or seemed bothered at all. In fact, when I asked for a side of ranch (ITS AMAZING BTW - it's not regular ranch - it's great ranch) - she said, I'm not charging you .75 for one / that's silly. (Probably because I had taken other things off my burger) Anyway, I ordered a cheeseburger and Parmesan truffle fries. I had no idea the fries came in a giant bowl enough for a family. Ha! Delicious! Back to her service, great, positive, friendly, helpful! A+ Food - arrived nearly immediately! I was shocked! My fries arrived first and I only had a couple when my burger showed up. The fries are enough to share for several people but I wanted some, so it was worth it. They were delicious. Fries were cooked to perfection, seasoned even better. Place was recommended to me. So had to give it a try since I was on vacation. Service was inconsistent, and had mix feelings regarding who we interacted with. In terms of food, we ordered 2 different things, the El Diablo Burger and Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. We love spicy so had to give them a try. Regarding El Diablo, I personally didn't think it was spicy at all. But burger was cooked perfectly as I ordered it medium rare. It was juicy, well seasoned, plenty of aioli and just goes well with everything on it. Very delicious burger! Regarding Nashville Sandwich, it was little too greasy or had little too much oil added so it could be dusted, this did have a little kick and tasted pretty good. We tried to give them another chance after the mediocre food (and WAY overpriced bill that we had at our first visit). We were ordering ahead on the app and walked in to find a table and sat down. The restaurant (which is counter service) was nearly empty. As I was about to submit the order, a waitress came over and with a rude attitude said that we were not allowed to sit ourselves (even though you order at the counter and there is not a hostess). We asked if it was ok if we ordered on the app and again, with an attitude she said, "No. You need to take it to go. You cant just walk in here and sit yourself." Again- the restaurant was nearly empty at this point. We canceled the order, left, and got much better burgers at Saltgrass. Based on our previous visit: Fries are soggy and cold Grilled cheese is an inside out burger bun instead of actual bread slices. A couple next to us ordered this and were very upset. My daughter also got it and and we ended up having to order a second meal for her (she is a light eater too) so that she would have enough to eat. Burgers are ok but small and crazy overpriced. Hopdoddy is a classic in austin so its never a bad option and we were really wanting burgers. I got my usual - el diablo and parm truffle fries, along side a Margarita of course. Kalif shook things up a bit this visit and got the double bacon jam and the new tenders to try out. He washed his down with a titos and soda. Overall great visit, the only complaint would be that the burgers were very ~wet~ like almost soggy making everything a weird texture experience. Hopdoddy is one of my favorite places to enjoy a veggie burger! Today we had family in town and decided to stop by for dinner. The line was short when we walked in but quickly grew as only one register was running. The shake machine was broke which was a bummer, but things happen. We had an array of items which we all enjoyed. I ordered the goodnight cause as a bowl. The patty and toppings were great however I'm not sure how I felt about the greens, or the sauce on the greens that came with it. The patty also seemed kind of dry today. The bandito was on point the sauces on this gave the patty some moisture and we would 10/10 recommend and order this again. The sweet potato hot honey fries were good but weren't hot IMO. Regular sweet potato were also tasty I liked dipping it in the truffle aioli. Truffle fries were also delish! Let's talk about this shot size margarita. lol it's called the "little John" and was 5.25 or 5.75 something like that and it was literally in a tasting glass you would get for a draft beer spot. I was shocked to see that come to my table to say the least. However it was good but wouldn't order again. They originally brought us regular fries which didn't belong at the table, apparently they mixed up order number somehow but not a big deal. Establishment is on the louder level. Plenty of seating in and outdoors with misters to help for the high heat. A little on the pricy side for burgers and fries. We paid 100$ for 4 people 2 of which didn't get drinks. read more

I came here after a soothing day at work with 104 fourth graders, and I needed a nice square meal before proctoring the big state test tomorrow. I haven't had a burger from here in four months, and while it was a disappointment to find out that turkey patties are yet again snatched off the menu, I had a satisfying, chicken burger with cheddar cheese and Queso fries that didn't stand a chance.
