Huge disappointment. I like to try the more local spots for a burger rather than the McD's, Sonic etc. I happened to look up a lunchtime and saw a strip-center hamburger joint Wayback Burgers. Not familiar with them, but what the heck. I will order for pick up. First annoying hurdle was having to download an app and give up a ton of personal info. Ok, I pushed thru and placed an order. App was fairly easy to work. Ice Tea, double burger w/cheese and fries. You could design the burger as you like which was a nice addition touch but $26! I was like wow, this must be some swell burger I show to pick up order at lunch time and there are no customers at all. At least as best I could see there were two staff. No staff at counter, one staff on a stool on their phone(they never moved) and one cook. The hollered from the kitchen, "pick up order?" Then came out and tossed the order at me. No drink so I ask kindly for a drink cap that he slammed in the counter. No welcome. No thanks. Nothing. Really just overall yuk experience. The burger was ok. Nothing special and slight step below Sonic. Ice tea was good. But despite being forced in the app to choose a dipping sauce, I choose catsup, there was none in the back. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE I got the order to go. I wanted a side of ranch, the worker said there was already one in there and I said, I'd like another one. The owner quickly said "You have to pay for that!" I replied with "That is fine." I get to my car and taste the ranch. I find the taste gross and certainly not worth what they charge. I also notice that they gave me onion rings instead of french fries. I was just gonna let that mistake slide and eat the onion rings. One of the workers comes outside and says that's not your order. I agreed. So I bring it back in... I tell them that I do not like the ranch and I'd like to be refunded for the ranch. That is an absolutely normal request in any restaurant business I have gone to. The female manager/owner adamantly says "out of principle" she does not refund because I had tasted it. I said this is really poor customer service... Are you really willing to lose a customer over $1.05? She says "it's out of principle." Fun Fact: It's not out of principle to give the same food that I had in my car that they don't know if I even ate some or not (I DID have my hands in the bag and touched the food and I tasted the ranch because I thought it was my order) Who knows if it's the ranch I tasted or not that the customer got to eat. :/ I see one of the workers bring the crumpled bag... that was originally given to me... out to the person waiting for their order at the counter and find out it's a door dash order. Giving food to a Door Dash customer that another customer has touched/tasted because of your worker's mistake....hmmm. Apparently THAT'S okay with "her principles?" If I could give them a zero I would, I haven't had such a bad experience at a restaurant in a long time. This tops as one of the WORSE experiences. We should've known better since we pass by it all the time and it never looks busy. Since it opened this is my first time coming, I checked the menu and was really excited about trying one of their burgers (the first pic i posted, doesnt look anything like I ordered, I did ask for a single patty but it looks like they just threw it together.) It wasn't that busy for a Friday night. It took almost 40 minutes to get 3 burgers for $40. I wad so close to just asking for a refund because it was taking forever. Got home and the food was crap. I was hesitant to try this place because of the bad reviews but we decided to give it a chance. Let's be transparent.... People are so quick to be keyboard warriors when focused on emotions therefore why you have to take reviews with a grain of salt. People will be quick to write bad reviews then a good review. It's an order at the counter type and has about 9 tables. The service was good. The young kids in there were super polite. The patty was not frozen you can actually walk to the bathroom and see through the glass window while your burger is cooking and it's didn't look frozen to me. The lettuce and pickles were fresh and crispy. The burger was extremely juicy and flavorful. I did a build your own burger with onion rings and my husband got the Ghost Pepper Burger with spicy cheese curds. We ate our entire meals and even got a milk shake. The only thing I can agree with on the reviews is the cheese is not melted on but if you let it sit the heat will melt it. From the outside we thought it was a small place, but once we got inside we noticed they have some tables available. We got at their new Leander location on a Sunday evening and there weren't many people there. I ordered the cheese fries to share and I went with the bunless classic while my husband decided to go with the bacon cheese burger. Everything was delicious and made to order. Even the lettuce was fresh and crunchy. It is a good sized burger. The fries were very cheesy and the portion was great to share. The only downsides are: they have no combo, everything must be ordered separately, and the price is a bit steeper than I expected. However, I'm sure I will be back soon again. read more

Friday night we decided to give this location a try. We ordered online and went to pick it up. There were several people waiting on orders as things seemed to be backed up. We ordered the chicken blt, hot dog with chili, tator tots, chili cheese fries, tea, coke, a brownie milkshake and a vanilla shake. The chicken BLT was cold and didn't really have flavor. The chili dog, was put in the bag upside down so was a bit of a sloppy mess and also cold. The tator tots were great and perfectly salted, the chili cheese fries were good temp and good flavor. The shakes were great, loved the brownie shake! We have previously stopped in to pick up breakfast sandwiches and Joe is wonderful! They are perfectly toasted and super good!! Solid burger and fry joint with a few twists. It's a no frill type of establishment with what I'd consider a great 'classic' burger style. Think Top Notch but less on the flame broiled angle. We got a classic burger which comes with two patties and a choice of cheese (that's a nice touch) and fries. It's solid! Only thing that got me is that the restaurant had some ventilation issues when we went. So the grill smoke was bleeding into the dining area which was a bit offputting. Hope they get that fixed. This place was absolute rubbish. The food came to us, called a hamburger. It was horrible. The Philly cheese was not the best. Yellow cheese was something new!? We returned the fries because they were cold. We ordered the ones with meat on them. They microwaved them. as I tried eat them throughout my meal, I almost cracked a tooth, because the meat became so hard from being microwaved. I ordered the impossible melt. I think its going to be impossible for this place to stay open. The name i think is whats keeping them going. The patty on this was a hockey puck, just not as thick. Terrible female manager who kicked hardworking contract workers out for eating their food towards the entrance of restaurant. They said they had stopped many restaurants to eat and never been told to leave. Had two trucks full of laborers who were parking and getting ready to come in to order food to eat. Looks like the ones who brought their own lunches were there first. Specifically this manager went up to a black gentleman (who asked prior to sitting down if it was okay to fill up his traveler with water and was told that's fine) sitting by himself on the phone with his family and after finishing half his meal told him he couldn't eat here. After realizing he was with the other gentleman who were eating, she went over and told them they couldn't eat there either to "correct" herself. Ordered my food Was able to ring me up for a kids shake but than the manager came over and said "sorry we can't give a kids shake without a kids meal" even tho I was able to pay for the shake alone and than wanted to charge $3 more for an upsize when not everyone wants that much ice cream. The burgers were ok. Fries are consistently soft and cold. Chili cheese tots were a clear violation of the Geneva convention. I'll never order them again. Service is polite but everyone behind the counter just kind of shuffles around like they're confused. We ordered the Rodeo Burger and the Impossible Melt with fries and tater tots. The Rodeo Burger was pretty good but I thought a little more bbq sauce would had made this amazing! We love patty melts and the Impossible Melt was a solid disappointment. Very little grilled onions and little to no Cajun Remoulade Sauce. Fries were really good but the tots were decent at best. very unprofessional and unsanitary. should have paid attention to the reviews. sometimes you have to learn the hard way. witnessed a very toxic work environment with the crew bickering very loudly right in front of customers. they are usually not very busy i'm seeing for a reason. a lot of rushing back and forth seeming to be understaffed during one of my (last) visits during lunchtime. all workers here seem to be in high school or just graduated. manager talking down to her employees, some staff were very unhygienic you could tell there was a lot of desperation. as for the food, it was nothing out of the ordinary. but yet for such an expensive price. i wanted to try something local, but again, i will continue my search for a real local and welcoming environment. beware. you have been warned. here is my two cents. i don't understand how this place is still in business. behavior makes me question how sanitary the food making execution is. read more

The food here isn't good enough to be called food. My wife ordered the chicken tenders and they were so small about the size of a finger. They were also way over salted still had a lot of skin and tendons on them it was just disappointing and rather disgusting. My burger was also over salted and lacked flavor and tasted like it was good in dirty grease. This is our second time eating at this location and will unfortunately be our last. The first time we found the food decent, but they had just opened so we gave the some grace. We LOVED the pistacio milkshake and, if I'm honest, that's why we went back. Last night after a school event we were tired and hungry and decided to try it again on our way home. We got there around 8:15, not even noticing that they close at 9:00 It was not good at all. I wish now that I'd taken pictures. The bread looked and tasted like some generic buns you'd pick up at a convenience store that had been sitting on the shelf a while. They were small and thin and they literally crumbled into pieces as I took my first bite. I had to get a fork to finish the burger because the bun did not hold together. The meat was fairly flavorless. They looked like pre-formed, frozen patties, perfectly shaped. They did not appear to be fresh beef. The overal presentation and flavor of the burger was extremely disappointing. It was just a basic burger with way too much sauce and no seasonin on the beef. We left wishing we'd just driven through the "W" burger place and spent less money. Both our first and last visit they forgot the dipping sauces they specifically asked us if we wanted. They started cleaning around us, which I suppose is typical as it was getting close to closing time, but then one of the staff came up to our table and said, "No rush at all, but when you're finished can you please stack your trays and all the trash and leave it on the counter?" It was at that point that I asked what time they closed. We still had 20 minutes.
