How am I JUST finding out about Wayback Burgers????! I wasn't feeling too well so I was in need for junk food but of course, plant based and Wayback Burgers popped up for having an impossible melt. My friend and I immediately headed to Hamden to dine in on some burgers. We ordered an impassible melt with some fries and grabbed a seat by the window. The staff brought our food over and this by far was the best impossible burger I have EVER had. Even better than the ones I've had in LA. Plus, the staff was so pleasant and the manager came over to ask how our food was. We had a really fun time and I'm excited to go back there again.

I haven't been to this chain in a long time ,so finding one near my Job on a hungry night was a good idea . They make the burger fresh right infront of you ,so you can watch it cook or have a seat while it's being made. My only issue is everything is a la carte ,so it can get pretty pricey fast. I wanted a burger, so I picked a single patty with just fried onions & ketchup . The burger was so good there's nothing like fresh beef. I had to try the fries ,so I ordered a small order and a side of fried pickles being extra hungry for no reason. The fries were good nice and crisp and the fried pickles yummmmmmy dipped them in ranch sauce and devoured um up.. They have some good looking milkshakes to try ,so plan on being hungry .

I always wanted to try Wayback burger for years just didn't after a failed attempted years ago line was long at a different location changed my mind. Was given another opportunity yesterday at this location and my first experience was good. The team lead or supervisor Keisha was amazing very kind very personable and very sweet. The other crew members were too. The food was good as well as the service. Very clean inside and spacious. Kudos to Keisha and her crew I will definitely return to this location and I recommend stopping by here

Came here on a suggestion of my uncle who lives a few blocks away. Located in a strip mall, quick glancing at the establishment, I would have probably never even realized it was a food joint. Walked inside and there were a few patrons scattered around some tables. The menu and ordering style reminded me a lot of the restaurant Five Guys back home. The lady at the cash register looked very unhappy to be working and glared at each member of our party (6 + a baby) as we ordered. It's not like she had to do much regarding our order, besides press some buttons. At least slap a fake smile on your face and call it a day. I ordered a single patty burger, with pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, tomato, grilled onion, and a side of fries. The burger was alright, it wasn't anything amazing that I would tell all my friends about. But it was good. My mom got onion rings as her side and I wish I had! THOSE were delicious! Had a sweet tea to drink and holy moly, I realize it's *sweet* tea but let me tell you, I felt myself wincing each time I sipped it was so unbelievably sweet. Would I go back? Yeah, I guess, but would definitely need to try something else! Like maybe a milkshake!

This is a good choice for a quick local burger. Faster than the local "chains" like TGIF and Chilis with about the same quality but a little cheaper. I agree with Rich H on the proportion size vs value but maybe we are so spoiled by Glenwood and 5Guys that we just think we should be getting more. With the local competition, I hope that they are able to maintain enough business at this spot to stay open. The one thing that does set them apart are the milkshakes. Everyone I know who has had one loves them.

My friend and I thought we would grab a bite for dinner from here and I'm so happy that we did! There is an extensive selection of beers, ciders, and specialty cocktails. The food menu also offers something for everybody! I decided to give the birria tacos special a try, while my friend ordered the smoked meatloaf sandwich. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The tacco meat was so tender and I tried a bite of my friend's meatloaf which was so good that I may order it next time! Our waitress was also kind and helpful! Tonight I got the Arepa which apparently, I won't get again because it's the second time I've had it (not here the first time) and didn't care for it. The pulled pork on top was good though I just don't care for the dish itself. A bit bland. My picture unfortunately didn't come out good for that dish. My dad got the Panko Crusted Fish Sandwich and my mom got the nachos. They loved what they got. I've been in the past and had the pizza, the poutine, pork belly sandwich, etc. I'd love to try the crab dip and whipped ricotta someday. Fun spot.

I'm allergic…read moreto seafood and fish and it seems as if so many entrees, including a steak dish, contain seafood. Overall, the food was fine, a bit pretentious but fine. The dining room was so loud esp when the bartenders were shaking drinks as if they were starring with Tom Hanks in "cocktail" We had the pea salad which was very fibrous and chewy (a 10 second Blanche wouldn't hurt) and the burger was tasty but served with frozen French fries, and way too much of them. Considering the style of menu, frozen fries don't belong on the menu. The fish was overcooked and dry. Overall, it's an inconsistent experience. Dinner for 3 was $200 with 1 shared app, 2 burgers and the fish course plus 3 drinks.

Glenwood Drive-In is a historic family restaurant that opened in Hamden, Connecticut in 1955. It…read morewas founded by Rocky Stone. The property was originally a small drive-in that operated under a different name. Stone purchased the drive-in after working as a Tip-Top salesman and deliveryman. He renamed it "Glenwood" and expanded the menu, hours and the physical building. After Stone passed away in 1960, his son Frank "Wayne" Stone took it over and he continues to run it today. In the early days, the Glenwood had a walk-up service window similar to establishments such as Dairy Queen. Over the years, Wayne remodeled the interior and added an indoor seating area. The menu consists of staples such as footlongs, chili dogs, cheeseburgers, clam strips, lobster rolls, soft shell crab, fries, onion rings, and much more! Although the establishment is no longer a traditional drive-in restaurant, the Glenwood still hosts classic car "Cruise Nights" every Wednesday during the warmer months. In 1985, Wayne's daughter opened "Kelly's Cone Connection": an adjoining ice cream parlor business that is connected to the Glenwood. Although both businesses share the same space, they operate as separate entities. Kelly makes all of her own ice cream, hot fudge, waffle cones, ice cream pies and birthday cakes in house. Customers can expect to choose from about 35 different flavors on any given day. My family and I recently stopped for dinner at Glenwood Drive-In. Growing up in the area, I visited the Glenwood several times throughout my childhood. I also frequently accompanied my father to "Cruise Nights" when he still owned a 1971 Triumph TR6. On this outing, we ordered a variety of menu items including a "Chili Cheese Dog", "Footlong", "Chicken Fingers w/ Fries", and "Fried Shrimp w/ Fries". There's something about those classic menu staples that just really hit the spot. Afterwards, we headed through the adjoining doorway to Kelly's Cone Connection for dessert. It was a special occasion because the ice cream parlor was hosting a meet & greet with Spider-Man himself. The event coincided with the release of a new monthly special called the "Spidey-Sundae" (Firework 250 Poprock ice cream w/ golden Oreos, a frosting and sprinkle rim w/ a cotton candy web, poprocks, & a Spider-Man ring). My sons both had a blast meeting Spider-Man and eating his special ice cream treat. I tried a different monthly special: the "New England Clam Chowder" (sweet cream salted caramel ice cream w/ white chocolate "clams", dried mint, vanilla wafers, white chocolate shell). The presentation was immaculate and the flavor combo was simply divine! If you're looking for classic American drive-in food along with some fantastic ice cream, then head to Glenwood Drive-In and Kelly's Cone Connection!
