We booked Spuds Your Way for our wedding, at the recommendation of our venue, and it was amazing! We got raves from guest over our food and am so glad we booked him. The potatoes were delicious - it was actually the only thing I ended up eating at my wedding, running around I didn't have much of an appetite but a veggie potato was perfect for me and so delicious. My husband loved the flavor of his too. He noted the menu was great too, listing out how much time each potato would take and they were so efficient. We got lots of compliments from guests for the potatoes and everyone said how nice the servers at each food truck were. I also appreciated working with Jared, he was very kind, communicative and flexible (I was also very impressed he remembered what my potato order was the next day!). The Spuds Your Way truck would visit University of New Haven all the time and I always loved their baked potatoes! They are huge and this place is not stingy with their toppings! Once I found out they had an actual store location I knew I had to go. What I didn't know before going was that you have to order online and then call when you arrive - they do not have indoor seating so it is either delivery or pick up. Honestly, the online ordering process has gotten better. Yes, it's the same site and process, but the employees have improved handling online orders. When I got there, the person working there came out with my meal, and it was as simple as that. We ordered from here because we were familiar with the food truck but had never been. Service was extremely quick. We pulled up and someone came right out and brought us our food. There is no seating so plan on getting your food to go. My boyfriend had the baked potato with shaved steak, cheese and crumbled bacon. I had the baked potato with sautéed vegetables. The vegetables had great flavor and the portions are a good size. Definitely a fun and unique place to check out. I finally got a little break at work, drive to the Spuds location, order my food in-person, take the stapled bag back to work, open it up and SURPRISE!!! This isn't what I ordered. How can I tell? There wasn't a single vegetable in sight. I tried to order the Vegetable Supreme potato that was pictured on their website. Now I'm back at work after a 30 min drive due to a traffic accident. Called to see what can be done to get the vegetable that I thought I was getting and long story short, the guy on the phone got mad because I changed my mind about driving 40 min round-trip during rush hour traffic for some missing vegetables, that I was told I needed to pay $6.44 extra for. Then he hung up on me. I can't believe he hung up on me for some Vegetables. Really? Rude Much? On the other hand, the food truck is fantastic. Always great food and great customer service. I would say visit, but after a horrible experience with Spud Your Way employees, I don't want to support any of their businesses. read more

I've passed this place so many times and have always wondered how it is. I didn't get a potato this time as I was really in the mood for a steak and cheese. I am impressed with the sub I got - the angry steak and cheese. I decided that while I really dislike mayo on its own, I'd give this sub a try with the Mayo on it. Since it has sriracha on it, the Mayo luckily wasn't really noticeable to me. I didn't really notice any jalapeños in it, but I figure maybe they were diced up very small to where I wouldn't see them. They were very generous with the amount of steak they put in the sub and I appreciate that. I really liked it and will definitely make it my mission to try a potato next time. read more

I was fortunate enough that my company enticed this food truck to appear at our Windsor office as part of our United Way/Giving campaign where some of the proceeds are going to charity. I ordered the steak supreme potato and it was the very best baked potato I've EVER HAD. The potato was perfectly fluffy and easy to eat with a plastic fork. The steak was plentiful and lean and the other toppings (sour cream, cheddar, bacon) added the amazing flavor. The staff was as friendly as can be and the turnaround was super quick. Their current location is in Hamden on RT 10 right next to Quinnipiac, my old stomping grounds! Now we stop by for a bite after our bike rides! Anyway I hope you will give this place a try. I love the young owner - he is such a hard worker and I feel he really puts it all out there giving his best for you. If you are a student at QC, you won't be disappointed with the servings! FIRST REVIEW- At a recent shopping trip at Clinton Crossings we noticed a new addition- there were a few food vendor trucks parked inside the courtyard. One caught our eye...BAKED POTATOES! It was cold and snowy out so what would warm us up better than a spud? There was actually a pretty thorough menu to select from too. We opted for the veggie potato. Yum! The grilled veggies were made to perfection nestled in the fixings in the center of a huge, fluffy potato! It really hit the spot. We will surely be back for more. What a treat! Best baked potato I've ever had. Tried it at the Milford Oktoberfest and now I will be looking up their location on a regular basis. I got the classic Idaho and it was a legit full meal. Great flavor and the skin was soft enough to break apart and eat. Awesome!! Update: I've gone a couple more times for these incredible spuds. Check their facebook page to see where they'll be, lately it has been Clinton Crossings but they may move around more in the warmer months. Even if they stay there, it's worth a drive over there to catch them in action. The wait is a couple minutes for your spud to be prepared. It's a big spud with a lot of toppings so that's not too bad. Prices are reasonable too. There's not much more you can ask for. read more

In addition to the trucks, Spuds has just opened its first take out/delivery spot in Hamden, CT!! Conveniently located near the Quinnipiac University campus at 3500 Whitney Avenue, the new Spuds Your Way is sure to satisfy the palette of those looking for a great lunch, dinner or a late night snack. Word on the street is they'll be a late night spot for the college crowd on the weekends. As a longtime Spuds fan, I was impressed with their expanded menu (see attached pics). I've had several different varieties of their meal in a peel spuds but I recently paired a foot long hot dog with a shared order of potato pancakes. I think they just might be the best potato pancake I've ever had! I'm really glad this location is located on the north side of town or I just might be in trouble!! So I first had spuds years back when their food used to park at a local gas station....I was hooked. I began following the food to many food trucks events and was never ever disappointed. Now people will say the big E has the best baked potato....well that potato has nothing on spuds. The potato is huge! There are many topping options from traditional to fully loaded. The quality and quantity never changes. The staff is super friendly always smiling and hustling. I've had friends use their catering service and were extremely happy. Now they've opened a store front directly down the street from me and the same service and quality you get from the truck you are getting here. These guys are truly craftsmen. I love potatoes. Baked potatoes, home fries, hash browns, curly fries, I love it all. I was SO excited when I drove past and saw a potato truck! So excited in fact, that I had to turn around and go eat there. They have a couple variations of baked potato, burgers, potato pancakes, potato knishes, and a variety of other potato creations. So far I have only had one thing from there even though I've had it four times, but I believe I have found what is the Holy Grail of baked potatoes. The veggie baked potato. I make baked potatoes, but they do not compare in size or amazingness to these! Wait time is a little long, but they're making your potato be the best that it can be! The veggies atop mine were freshly cooked and tasted incredible! Not to mention, they were piled high. So high that the potato was no longer visible, and those are BIG potatoes! The butter. Oh, the butter. I don't eat butter, and I will never use it in my own cooking, but the butter mixing with the potato and the sour cream and cheese, oh my goodness. Not the healthiest potato, even with the broccoli, bell peppers, zucchini and squash piled on top, but it is SO good and worth every single calorie.
