    Pulled pork and brisket sandwich

Solid barbecue joint! This was a great meal to close out a long hike. The sandwich and house barbecue sauces were yummy! The batter on the fried pickles was flavorful but be warned that the pickle itself will be like lava for the first 10 minutes. The sides could use more seasoning but were still enjoyable. There's a lot of outdoor seating which is really nice if the weather allows!

Good vibes at the way station. I dig the casual bench seating, beer garden and open dining. I ordered a beer, mug of pickles, a pulled pork sandwich and two ribs. Ribs are well seasoned. Nice smoke ring. Tender and fell off the bone easy enough. Bbq sauce is not too sweet. Has a mild kick. Would order again. Pickles - healthy jar of pickle spears. No complaints. Pretty average. Would order again Pulled pork sandwich - good portion on a baguette. I wish it had been toasted some. Sando comes with slaw, bread n butter pickles. Pork itself is disappointing. It's tender but flavor lacks a kick. Would not order again. I'll come back but try the brisket.

First time visiting Fairfax and found this gem of a restaurant. The friendly vibe and staff were great. They offer a variety of to choose from. I enjoyed the patio seating option. Great place to hang out, have a beer and support the local band who happens to be playing a set when we got there. Food wise- it was over priced and the taste was mediocre.

The Ribs are so tender and fall off the bone, I really mean fall off the bone. Nothing was too sweet, and tater tots with their spicy bbq sauce....how have I not been here in all the time I hike up in Fairfax. Absolutely recommend.....is a little.pricey...our ensemble with the beers was north of $50

Owner let a very professional DJ take over one of the weekends during the Fairfax festival. Such a good choice.

Our party enjoyed the ribs, beans and pulled pork sliders. Everything else we ordered was pretty average. Decent beer/wine selection, friendly service. We probably would try one of the other amazing restaurants in Fairfax next time as this place was just average for Marin County.

Half rack of delicious ribs and the coleslaw salad almost didn't make it for the pic

Fairfax has no shortage of delicious eateries- Way Station holds its own and anchors the smokehouse ribs and bevies on tap category amply! Local owned of course, Way Station's smoky goodness and fantastic house sauces pair well with their meats and sides- special mention for the sweet cornbread! Replete with generous bike parking, outdoor tables, live music on weekends and nights, dog friendly, gas heaters and firepits... what more are you waiting for! Thank you to the team here for speedy delivery of delicious foods, everytime. Obviously we are regulars! ;)

Stumbled across this place after a long day of hiking. They had a really great standard brewery menu and beer list. Ordered: Mac n Cheese -4.5/5 if you like super cheesy! Pulled pork sandwich - 5/5 - amazing bread and topped with coleslaw Brisket plate- 4/5- meat was amazing but the plate itself didn't have much to bring it life and was a little cold Covid safe / friendly: The staff was constantly cleaning down the surfaces and taking to keep guests safe which was great to see! The outdoor seating was great and lots of space between the guests. If you're tired of eating your own food and need to get out of the house for a meal this is definitely a great spot! P.S. bring a uno card deck and play a game outside while you wait for food!

Stopd into the way station last night to watch the warriors game and some bbq n brews. The food is always very consistant and good. And the beers and ciders on tap are always changing giving a nice selection to choose from. Last night much to our surprise they have added an open mic night with live music and the place was way more packd than we are used too, with music going outside on the patio area and the basketball game going on inside. It was a nice added bonus to the game. The only downside to the added event is the place realy wasnt ready to serve that many people, the lines just to order a drink were ridiculous, and will probly detour me from going back on another open night mic. I just wanted a drink and to watch the game but it made it very dificult since most of my time was wasted in lines. Otherwise its a cool lil spot with great bbq options.

Got there around 3pm and was told that a table for two would be about a 30 minute wait, so it was not as bad as we thought it would be, considering that the whole parking lot (which was probably the only downside; it being made of gravel and without distinct parking designations making finding a spot incredible difficult and annoying) was full. The inside vibe was great, with tons of people drinking/eating and having a good time. When we got seated, we ended up ordering just a few oysters and a 3pc fish and chips. The oysters were pretty good and fresh, with a great vinaigrette on the side to pair with them. The fish and chips, however, were the obvious stars of the show. The fish were nice and golden, with a very crisp texture, and more importantly large and generous. The fries were nicely seasoned and plentiful. The fish was really tasty (you can choose the type of fish depending on what they have on hand, and some cost extra between $2-$10. We chose the standard option for the day: Rockfish), easily one of the better fish and chips I have had - just an incredibly simple, but well executed dish. While the tartar sauce was a good pairing, the real standout pairing was Hook Fish's own carrot habanero hot sauce with the tartar sauce and the oyster vinaigrette. I have never had something like a carrot based hot sauce, but it really works by contrasting the spiciness of the habanero with a slightly sweet carrot undertone. Strange, but it gave the classic fish and chips a unique twist that sets it apart from the competition. While eating we saw tons of different dishes fly out the kitchen as well, such as poke burritos, large portions of chips and salsa/guacamole, and fish tacos. After the experience we had that day, we will be forsure making another round back to Hook Fish to try some of their other options. Their fish and chips are a must.

As a combined beer garden and pizza place, it features a huge outdoor area with plenty of spaced-out seating and a dedicated play area for kids, including foosball. The food is a major draw, with pies made by SF's own Pizza Hacker. It is easily some of the best pizza in the Bay Area; we tried several varieties, including the Margherita, Pepperoni, and the Ohio. They even offer a good quality gluten-free option, which was great for my buddy. Their drink menu is equally diverse, featuring an excellent selection of beer, wine, and mocktails, ensuring there is something for everyone. While the setting is excellent, the service can be a bit spotty. The restaurant gets extremely busy, and at times it feels like the staff is simply stretched thin. We found the table servers to be much better than the cashiers at the windows, who could be a bit unfriendly. One cashier even insisted he had confirmed our order correctly when I had to correct what was actually brought to us--definitely a case of poor active listening skills. They would have received 5 stars if it weren't for the cashiers taking orders. Overall, if you go in knowing it leans heavily toward a family-oriented crowd and can get very crowded, it's a wonderful place to enjoy great pizza and the outdoors. Just be patient with the parking, as it can be a bit tricky to find a spot.

We ordered fries and a veggie plate to start and the fries that showed up were covered in paprika and soggy like they were baked. Extreme premium prices for beyond mediocre food. The hummus was laughable and ranch was awwwful. We ordered a following round of food with chicken strips, a burger and more fries. This time the fries were completely different. They were deep-fried and crunchy (definitely came from a bag) but a completely different french fry from what we received on our first order. Still the same foul Ranch and the ketchup that was out in squeeze bottles was beyond disgusting it was thin, sour and bright red with tin flavor. Chicken strips were fine, they 100% came from a bag and were consistent with hundreds of other restaurants that purchase the same ones. We asked the server if we could have our burger cut in half and they snapped that they were too busy to do that. The people next to us and across from us had burgers that were split in half... And the burger was a complete joke. Their "special sauce" is just cheap mayonnaise mixed with some of that cheap ketchup (that is probably from a huge can from the top corporate food distributor.) People listing that this is one of their favorite burgers are really missing out on some experiences in life, or they're eating them after their third double IPA... It's a beautiful place, great yard area. But the food needs to open a new document and start again. I can't believe how much it cost for how horrible it was. I'm in shock.
