We've been here twice in 24 hours we liked it so much. The place is quiet and a great place for date night. The service was friendly and quick. The food was made perfectly, even when customized. Reasonably priced about $15 per person for lunch, $20 for dinner. read more

I originally posted this privately to warn my friends only. As it turns out four different families all got sick on the same weekend from Wave Sushi. This is my original post in the Neighborhood page : OP: "Folks - just a heads up bc I don't want to post this on their public review as yet .... I had Wave Sushi deliver for us this past weekend. We shared family style for 5 people (not much bc we were supposed to go out to eat later) and we ALL 5 got sick that night." Many people ask why I did not write a review or call them. I did call them but they were closed. I wanted to give them an opportunity to address it before I wrote a public review. I finally got in touch with them today and the following happened... "UPDATE I talked a nice lady at Wave Sushi who answered the phone and provided her the information with specifics of us getting sick including order number and items. She asked if she could call me back and went to talk to the chef and manager. She called me back to inform me that the owner, manager, and chef do NOT claim responsibility for this, and "deny it's even a possibility as they only use fresh fish". Their conclusion is that "all five of us must have gotten the flu at exactly the same hour coincidentally after we ate (their) food."" I've eaten there many many times. The food was just ok before, but sometimes we need a break from Mexican food. Now they made us sick and denied it was even a possibility. Oh.... and I paid for faster delivery. It was delivered from ordering to door in maybe 20 minutes. You'd think that was a good thing but it didn't help us here. And it's April - very cool outside at night when I ordered. Attached - what we ordered - four redacted comments responding to my private post read more

Amazing sushi rolls and friendly wait staff. Been here several times and haven't been disappointed yet. I have several favorites, but have to push myself to try new dishes. Looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend. read more

Went there as I was craving sushi and the employee seated us right away!!! The employee was super nice and even gave us some recommendations to try!! Their Kani salad is superb and their sushi rolls amazing!! The udon was super filling and tasty!! I loved that they included shiitake mushrooms as they have a different umami taste than regular portobello mushrooms other places use!! The service was amazing, staff was welcoming, and the place had so many cute decorations. read more

Was very excited to try this place out because it's so close to my home. Ordered delivery to try it out. I eat quite a lot of Japanese food, even took a couple Japanese cooking classes, because I'm a pescatarian with a lot of food allergies. Japanese food is one of the few I can eat. I hate to write bad reviews but the food was not good at all. I know what Japanese food is supposed to taste like and this wasn't it. The miso soup was bland and just tasted like diluted tofu water. I order the yellowtail/hamachi sushi exclusively every time I eat Japanese and not only wasn't it cut correctly it even smelled fishy! That means it's starting to go bad due to improper storage or handling. I chose not to finish the sushi because of that. I didn't want any stomach issues. The sushi rice wasn't seasoned even, just plain rice. And it was pricey, hamachi is normally the more expensive fish but it was pricey even for the regular price. The seafood fried rice was plain bad. It contained only 2 very small scallops, 3-4 very small shrimp, and a few thin pieces of imitation crab (which wasn't indicated I thought I was getting real crab). So very small amount for "seafood" fried rice. Not to mention the whole thing was gross The salmon teriyaki was the only passable thing and that was because they cooked the fish correctly but the sauce was very bland, not a very teriyaki taste and the steamed rice was slightly crunchy. Like the rice??? Why. So all in all I don't recommend this place. I don't have any experience with the service because I got delivery but the food was very subpar. I wish I hadn't spent the money since it wasn't cheap. Drive closer into town you'll find much better worth the cost and travel. read more

Welcome Wave Sushi to Magnolia. We need to be very patient as they work out the kinks every restaurant has upon opening. I don't think they were expecting such high demand for sushi in our humble town. The front row is actually 2 rainbow rolls and the back row is the imperial roll. I think they mixed the Toppings up but it was very fresh and delicious. I hope they have 2 waitresses next time because we will definitely be returning. Thank you Wave sushi! Congratulations on your grand opening! read more

Wave Sushi - 2 rainbow rolls in front, 1 imperial roll in the back - Sushi Bars Near Me - Magnolia, Texas

Service was great! Sushi was surprisingly amazing, it definitely exceeded our expectations for a tiny town so far from the coast!! Dumplings and edamame were wonderful also!!! Adding this to our rotation of favourites close to home! read more

Service was great, food was not. Water tasted bad, ginger had a strong mildew/mold smell and taste. Miso was flavorless and not to temp. Sushi had no flavor and some was starting to get on the bad side. Jasmine rice for chirashi? I could go on, but I've tried to forget the experience. read more

I got so sick!!! First visit was immaculate. Server was prompt and friendly. Sushi was exceptional. I thought this was going to be our spot! As we sat down I literally said I hope this place gets enough business to stay open as they've never been busy when we go. This second visit didn't go as well. Server was lukewarm, seemed nervous even though we were incredibly nice and friendly. Drink refills took a while. Several different types of sashimi were fishy tasting. So much so that there were some I couldn't eat. Luckily we ordered some rolls so I ate those. Unfortunately shortly after I've never been so sick in my life. $90 tab to go down the toilet. Definitely had some bad fish =/ Won't be returning. read more

My son and I stopped here on Saturday afternoon. The waitress was so kind, efficient and helpful. The restaurant was beautifully done and nice jazz added to the chill vibe. The menu is extensive with many choices. We had the potstickers for an appetizer. They were amazing! I ordered the shrimp bento box. It was so much food! It was perfectly cooked and the sushi was spot on. I'm glad my teenage son was with me as he had to help me eat it. We will definitely be back and are so glad that we have sushi in Magnolia. read more

Wave Sushi - The shrimp bento box (also includes salad and soup) - Sushi Bars Near Me - Magnolia, Texas

I am a huge Asian food lover and visiting this place was great! We were seated right away and served by a polite young lady! Food portions are great. I got the bento box D and loved it. Definitely recommend sushi or a bento box. Ambience is relaxed and quiet. Very cultural ambience as well. We are now local and will be coming back! read more

We love Wave Sushi! Family friendly but also great for a date night. Reasonable wine selection at a fair price. Sushi rolls are delicious and made to order QUICKLY. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. They have gluten free soy sauce and will make their fried rice with it as well. Everything is good! read more

Gave us horrible food poisoning. We got the west texas roll, shaggy dog, california roll, and some miso soup.

We have eaten here a couple of times and as much as we would love to love this place, it's just okay. Initially we chalked it up to them being new. The next time we thought they were just having an off day. Although they're convenient and the service is good, the food quality just isn't there for me. read more

My family cannot get enough of Wave Sushi! We eat here at least once a month. The service is one of the best parts. The servers have started to learn our orders! The restaurant is very cozy and quiet. Their sushi is so fresh and flavorful! Love that they are in old Magnolia! read more

Fast friendly and affordable. Love, love love the sushi. If you're a sushi lover, this place is so worth it.

Gluten Free Available.. staff were friendly, service was quick. Restaurant was nice and clean.

Just took my family for the first time. Excellent service and delicious food. The kids are asking when we're going back!

So far I've been there twice (headed out now for a third time). Delicious rolls, edamame, and teriyaki chicken, but mostly kind smiling faces and great service. This is definitely a new regular spot for me. read more

We started out with very dark looking some might say burnt pot stickers . The drinks were flat tasting so we ask for another one and the second one came the same way. Finally the tuna was not fresh , it had a strong fishy smell. read more

Sitting here as I type. Great sushi, a sushi spot is definitely needed in this area. I'm happy that I now have a sushi place near my home. Hope them success. read more

Everything we ordered was terrible. The tuna was fishy, edamame was hard and even the hot saki was barley warm. We also ordered the tuna tower when it showed up it looked nothing like the pic in the menu and didn't have hardly any tuna. The tuna it did have was also bad. Won't be going back ever. read more

Great service and we loved the food! We found our new sushi restaurant since we are moving to Magnolia! Loved the West Texas roll

Service was quick and the waitress was nice, as for the food... nope, we will never go back. The fish (sushi) tasted old and texture was way off. The chicken in the bento box tasted old and was rubbery. I am really hoping we don't get sick from eating what we did. We didn't even finish our dinner, even the coke tasted off. read more

Love love love this place new to area but great sushi for take out as well owner so sweet n kids loved to Japanese soda drinks I will be a regular for sure read more

Over priced for the portions of over cooked or old teriyaki chicken and beef. Very dissatisfied!

Ordered from Wave the other night. Was super excited because there's a crap ton of good reviews. But everything was very subpar. Like if I could give less than one star I would. I don't know what these people are eating here to give it such good reviews. But don't, don't do it. Don't make the mistake I did. Three rolls of sushi that ended up in the trash as well as terryaki shrimp which is pretty basic. I don't know how you can mess that up but congrats you did. 50 dollars for shit food. read more

Super cute fun place! Perfect date night or family dinner. The service was superb and the sushi was delicious. Wish I would have taken pictures and the arrangements took over the show! Everything we had was delicious and proper temperature. It's going to be a regular in our weekly date night places to go! read more

Went there for the first time. Was very excited, it had great reviews. We had ordered 2 different items. The sushi didn't look good or taste very good and the fish was not fresh, it tasted fishy. (This was cooked sushi not raw) We each had one bite and said no because we didn't want to take a chance on getting sick. Unfortunately won't try it again. Really wanted to be able to get sushi in old Magnolia. read more

I wanted to like this sushi place. I think they need time to perfect their sushi skills, because in addition to a few fresh rolls, I got a tempura roll. The tempura was way too thick, and because of that, they had to fry it longer. The spicy tuna inside my roll was completely cooked. It did not look or taste appetizing. For reference, I did get the sushi to go, and did not realize what happened until I got home. For now I will stick to Mikado in Egypt. Hopefully they improve because I'd love to have good sushi closer to home. read more

Me and my boys just stopped by here to try it out and surprisingly it wasn't too bad. Food was great and service was on point! If your looking for a good sushi spot this place is awesome! read more

The food was so fresh and delicious. We had the Star fish appetizer followed by the ramen and Nabe Udon. Definitely a winner.

Great to have good sushi place nearby. Eel Don is on the menu and my favorite so that made me want to like this place straight away. We have been twice since they opened and have dined both inside and pickup. Good experience in both instances. They are working hard to get this business growing. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I never leave reviews but this was just horrible. Tuna was very fishy, the avocado wasn't fresh. all around horrible. read more
