They have a covered area as well with the ceiling of the inside looking like the night sky with stars!....but we sat outside---there's a pool down the middle nd lots of seating areas. The domes are usually $100 minimum + food and drink I think....and during busy times, they're $200 minimum + food and drink. they had a short menu with finger food and drinks. This past Friday me and a group of my military buddies met up at the Statler Hotel at the waterproof bar. We were having a great time until we had to deal with one of the rudest supervisors I have ever seen. We requested to purchase a table but she was insisting on moving us to a table that we did not want. We finally ended up getting the table we wanted and bought up about three bottles totaling over $900. At the end of the night we had the supervisor charge our card so we could leave. Somehow this incompetent supervisor charged our card three times in a row charging us over $1800! Needless to say my wife was furious. We were already getting crappy service only to have an additional $1800 stolen. Since realizing this issue it has been a pain in the ass to get anyone from the Statler Hotel or Waterproof Bar to respond. As of now we are trying to work things out with our bank. read more

Last week, we came here for an industry mixer meeting with a group of friends , walked straight in, got a cabana and had an enjoyable time , today , not the same. We arrived around 7pm and I was told to wait on a hostess , after waiting on a hostess , I was told I would need to start a "tab" or speak to a server by the bar, after waiting 40 minutes for a server I spoke to a male bartender who told me a server would be over to help, the server never came. I went up to the server , Savannah , and asked her if we could get some service, she told me she would get me a hostess, the hostess never came back and I was later told the hostess is "new". We celebrated my husband's 60th with dinner at the Statler restaurant and then the sports bar last Saturday night. We went to the rooftop and found a spot. I realized I lost my prescription glasses so hurried back to the sports bar to find them. They were nowhere to be found. We went back upstairs to look and the bouncer would not let us in without ID. We had already been let through and I had no ID. I am obviously of drinking age but I understood and asked if we could just go look for my glasses and not stay. He refused repeatedly! Decided to stop by on our first night visiting Dallas, and was able to get reservations on the same day. I was seated promptly and was seated with a nice view! Waterproof has a huge pool that I believe can be used by anyone visiting, or if you rent cabanas with food and drink service. Just in time for a beautiful sunset, I really enjoyed my time at Waterproof. My server was sweet and attentive, she also gave me information on what to do in Dallas and some good hang out spots. Drinks were great, and for food I got a random craving for pasta - bolognese. This pasta was actually soooooo good, kind of like being at a traditional Italian restaurant. I'm literally still in the restaurant and i'm writing this review lol. this place sucks. we came here for my birthday today with really high expectations considering the $100 cancelation policy lol. when we arrived at 11:45, they were still opening (they open at 11:00 so...??). no one noticed that we came in so we approached the woman sitting at a table playing on her phone for help. she informed me that the server was in the bathroom and "might be a minute"... ew? lol. the patio smells really bad so we couldn't enjoy the nice weather and view. we ended up sitting inside and thank god we did because they decided to vacuum the entire grass portion outside on the patio while guests were out there. so weird. drinks were subpar and served in plastic cups. they were expensive too. the food came from a restaurant downstairs in the hotel and it was cold when it for to us. all of it was served in disposable containers and plates. so so underwhelming. food was just okay in taste. overall- this experience was mad underwhelming and kind of infuriating for them claiming to be so high dollar. only reason I gave two stars was because the view was alright and the music didn't make me want to take a dirt nap. read more

We moved to Dallas a year ago, and frequent waterproof. Two weeks ago we came two weeks ago with a group of friends. Purchased a table and had amazing service. My wife and I decided to stop in for a quick drink. I recently stopped smoking and purchased a vape. I'm not familiar with the rules and regulations of what's an appropriate place. One of the mangers came up to me to inform me they did not allow vaping. I immediately said I'm sorry and put it away. For the next 30 min we were surrounded by security, and two other managers as if I was going to continue to vape. We really felt as if we were singled out, for a simple mistake. Love, love, love the ambiance and environment of this rooftop bar and the drinks aren't bad neither. This bar is on the 19th floor of the Statler hotel and the view is a site to see. Being downtown, you get an amazing view of the city. There's a small pool in the center of the rooftop for anyone to get in and enjoy. There are also cabanas, couches and chairs along the out doors to sit and enjoy your drinks. If the temperature isn't up to par there is a covered inside portion to the deck. Drinks are normal Dallas price (expensive) but they are really good and love the service from the bartenders and the waitresses who will take your order and bring drinks you. I had several waitresses check in on me and my party and kept our drinks coming. Only disappointment was that there was no straws. How are you a bar without 1 straw. So imagine how hard it was to drink a frozen margarita! I came on a Thursday evening and it wasn't many people not busy but if you come on a weekend there is a dj playing and a bustling crowd. There is no dress code, you can come as you are which is rare in Dallas. Overall, love it here. read more

Drinks are expensive despite being served in a plastic cup. $15 cover so the DJ can sit there and text. Not only we're we ignored but the table we had our stuff on was moved by a waitress without our permission to the floor next to the pool so all of our stuff got wet. I went with my friends Sunday after brunch and there was absolutely no one on the bar or the rooftop. The host told us we could have a cabana outside for $100 minimum which was fine because there was about 8 of us but then came back after we sat down to change it to $25 for EACH of us??? I just don't understand why they would want to suddenly change prices on us especially after we were already seated at the filthy cabana. When we arrived, our seats were not available and the previous party hadn't even tabbed out. Finally it got cleared out (after 30 mins of waiting), once we sat, our waiter never came. We then requested a refund, how we were supposed to meet a minimum if we can't order drinks? They honored the refund, we then decided to go to the bar to order a drink but the line was so long. I had such high expectations for this rooftop bar because everyone raves about the Statler. Unfortunately was not able to stay at the statler but still wanted to experience what the hype was. I called and spoke with Jason who was in charge that night and worked with him on getting a section reserved. He was so professional and so nice. The four of us arrived and Jason quickly got us to our cabana. It was dark but upon taking pictures the cabana seats were filthy with stains and sunk in. Our bottle service got to our table and our server asked "do y'all want lights?" We were a little confused and asked what that was and she said "like a performance do you want us to come out with the bottle and have lights" I have never been somewhere were they ask that and it just felt so forced.... We went on the the night got a bottle of Belvedere and when it was half way done she came back and asked "are you all ready because I'm leaving for the night" I thought she was saying we were going to have a server switch so I told her she could bring me the check and I would sign for it so she didn't have to stay late. Not too sure where the disconnect was but she kept coming back and asking the clear the table which I didn't appreciate. Please explain to my how it is $100 per person regardless of the size of your party to rent a cabana BUT you can only reserve the space for 2 hours? I was renting 6 rooms at the hotel where WaterProof is housed so I called prior to get clarity on Cabana rentals versus table rentals at the pool. I was informed the Natalie, "Per our PR we can not budge on the price. It'll be $1500 minimum for your party for 2 hours". I explained that a typical cabana rental in a hotel of this caliber is around $3-500 for a minimum of 4 hrs. Their bar food is around $8-$16 dollars with very reasonable priced drinks. How does one person eat/drink $100 worth in two hours? Many people in our party do not consume alcohol so what then? I could not get a solid explanation nor and accommodations. Just to cross my Ts and dot my Is a had a friend with a different dialect and voice inflection call and ask the same questions. she was given a completely different set of rules, prices, and accommodations. This rooftop bar has some of the best views of any bar in Dallas. Only Nylo is comparable. The developers did a great job with the design. I have only been to the pool once during the day, but, based on that experience, it seems the crowd may get a bit trashy: It seemed like maybe a woman was trying to steal my bag. She said she thought it was hers, but she had both my bag and her bag in her arms. She may have just been drunk. When confronted, she made a point to say her bag was more expensive than mine. The staff handled it very professionally. There was one woman there who was trying to get me to let her stay with me because she was currently homeless. There was one woman there who seemed like the sugar baby of an old man. It seemed like she was hitting on me because they were trying to get me to have a threesome with them. Such an odd place...super excited about it being roof top, really pretty view...but a waitress came up to us after sitting at a small round bar table in the corner outside for over an hour...and said...word for word "you're really lucky to be sitting here because usually you need bottle service just so you know for the future..." so I asked "do we need to get up then?" and she continued "yes you do, usually you need bottle service to sit outside so y'all are lucky" and I asked again "so do we have to move?" and she continued "yes you do" one of the most indirect conversations I've had in a while.
