Great quality food and the service is always friendly. One thing I always get no matter what is their pesto pasta. That is a must when you go to the Waterloo. I also got their minestrone soup which was super hardy and very tasty. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu but the Pesto Pasta is something you can't sleep on. I first came here years ago with a group of friends. I'm not sure if I even ate. I always hear about this place and know it's a Stockton staple with a lot of regulars. One of my best friends told me he was having his birthday dinner here I was excited to finally try it out. It's good to know that any meal that you order comes with a soup or a salad. I ended up getting their ribs. It was 10/10. Our waitress was fast & attentive even though it was a busy night. I would come back here with a group of friends or to grab some drinks at the bar. read more

Wow totally worth the drive down here. A co-worker recommended this place and we finally were able to come down here. We came on a Saturday afternoon , late lunch and it was still packed. The stand is in towards the end of the bar. and the lady came from out of the bar to seat us. She asked if a high table was fine and I told her I was hungry and anywhere was good. She brought us to the back room . It's a nice size place and still packed. The place opens up to a big bar which you can eat at. There is a autographed baseball collection as you enter. Plus in the back room the owner pays tribute to all the local war veteran's which is super nice. A spot for the Giants too. Nice family atmosphere and going out with your friends at the same time. We had a male server who could of been better. The other female servers where hella better. He acted like we didn't matter and were bothering him. But the girls and the food made up for it. While we were ordering I was debating about getting the famous pesto or the home made spaghetti as a side. The lady at the next table said get the pesto since that is all I come here for. So I did and she was not wrong. It was very good and the pasta in it was so fresh and light. Loved it. I ordered the ribs of course. Came down here for BBQ and was not disappointed. It was flavorful and juicy. Will be coming back. Oh first I had a bowl of the minestrone. stacked high and great. It had lots of flavor to. The wife had the pulled pork sandwich which was great to. The potato salad was the bomb. But the star of the show was the bread pudding with ice cream. Didn't even need the ice cream and whipped cream. It was chocolate with some crunch and so moist. We died for it. I get bread pudding where ever we go now because my friend loves it and got me hooked to. It was the best I ever had. Even better than the place in Lake Tahoe. which is saying a lot. We will be back soon even though it is a bit of a drive. read more

The food is always delicious. My husband and I both ordered the Waterloo which is half ribs, 1/4 of a chicken. My side was pesto and my husband's was spaghetti. We both ordered minestrone soup for our starter. The food is always delicious but I was a tad disappointed with my chicken portion. It was a small chicken thigh and leg. I prefer chicken over any other meat but their ribs are delicious. My husband's portion of chicken was a huge breast (my favorite part of the chicken). I think next time I order, I will request the breast. This will always be our favorite restaurant for steak, we just decided to get something different. read more

Had our first lunch here. We got the special. Was a steak sandwich and fries. Steak was delicious. We also each tried a cup of soup. Most expensive lunch we ever had. 81 dollars plus tip for 2 steak sandwiches with fries and a cup of soup. 2 sodas. I think we will not go back. But out of it all the steak was the best. read more

Their food is delicious from the steak to the burgers to the calamari everything is wonderful. The staff is excellent and aim to please. It's a bit pricey but that's okay for what you get. We've been eating here for years and just love the place. This place is always packed. So be prepared for a wait. Order a drink or two and relax while you wait. It's worth the wait. Never have I had a bad experience. It can be a bit loud but again that's okay to. It shows everyone is having a great time. read more

Have given the Waterloo Inn some critical reviews in past. And they are so deserving of this review. Went on a Saturday evening, which may be their busiest time around 6:00 pm. So it was over 30 min wait time. Our group consisted of two children, a teenager, and 3 adults. I ordered a medium rare NY steak, my son ordered a whole slab of pork ribs, the teen ordered the rib steak special with shrimp, spouse had the salmon. All orders came with pesto, and we would share orders with younger ones. My son ordered a drink as That he thought had too many ice cubes in it. We started with a calamari appetizer, that kids always enjoy. Out came the salads that are always nice and crisp. Again, the kids really like the croutons and soft bread. Surprisingly, the picky teen ate her whole mixed green salad with Italian dressing. The entrees arrived in a timely manner. There were ample portions in all the plates. To start off, my NY was perfectly med rare, tender, juicy, and flavorful. What a treat. The son's order of ribs was not the fall off the bone, overcooked variety. But tender, tasty, with a slight bite and chew. With their Waterloo sauce, great! It made me forget the overcooked ribs I got in the past. The teens rib steak was just as tender and juicy say N Y steak. Her order of shrimp came in a mild sauce and were also very good. Wife always enjoyed the large portion of salmon and pesto. To say the least, we were very impressed with our entrees. There were lots to home. Several weeks later, my 7 yr old grandson whispered that on his next birthday, he wanted steak again, just like the reheated "leftovers"the following day from his dining experience. Lol! The salmon is definitely a recommendation if you love salmon the sauce is like a scampi sauce salmon was cooked perfectly not dry at all. The clam chowder this time was very good I don't remember it tasting good the last time I got it. our waitress and Bust boy was super nice. The only problem was that they don't seat you until your whole party is there which I hate this was only a party of 4 and even though they were nearby we had to wait till they showed up. I met friends here the other day for lunch. We started with some rib ends and calamari. Seriously, the ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender and so flavorful. The calamari was good as well. Our servers were so friendly and very attentive to our table. It was very busy in the restaurant so food took a long time to come out. For my main course, I went with the steamers (clams). They came with a salad that was very good - super crisp and fresh, and I was thrilled to see garbanzo beans, kidney beans, and beets in the mix! That was a nice unexpected touch. The clams themselves were good, but the broth could have used a little more oomph, flavor-wise. Still, overall a really great meal! read more

This place has the best BBQ ribs. Fall off the bone tender. Their steaks (ribeyes) are great too. I love the pesto. Great food all around. Haven't ever had a bad or disappointing meal. Don't want to post anything rude but I've Been to this place 4x. Pasta not the best. Steak was medium well when we asked for medium rare. Ordered chicken tenders for my son and got some small burnt barely chicken anything. Overpriced steak and pasta for $70. Go to Outback Steakhouse! Their unlimited bread and butter are bomb and u get to choose ur own steak and it comes out tender and juicy everytime!! read more

It was my first time going to this restaurant. We were a party of four and our friend Steve Ding (who is a new elected BOS) treated us out to lunch. I had no clue this restaurant was so popular . It was very busy too. I noticed a lot of pictures of famous people on the wall that visited the restaurant at one point. The restaurant itself looks small from the outside but it's actually pretty big. I would have never guessed a restaurant existed in the area let alone a very popular one. It is located out in the "country" area of Stockton. The service was really good. I like how our waitress checked on us quite frequently to make sure we were ok and she always refilled our drinks. Their chicken noodle soup and pesto pasta is really good. I would definitely order those two again the next time I go back. read more

The food and experience was fantastic! The steaks and mixed drinks were perfect. I enjoyed a massive steak and pesto which complimented perfectly. The noodles were fresh and the steak was juicy. I loved seeing all the of celebrities on the wall. It gives a great conversation starter for a date night and/or remembering celebrities and their careers. I even saw retired Raiders! Been wanting to try this place for the longest but every time we came the wait had an outrageous time. Eating here I now see why. First off it's loud here, dive bar type, SF Giants decor everywhere (which I love, Go Gigantes!!!) and reasonable priced drinks, waited 15 minutes and that's where it all begins. Sat at a table in the back, was well lit compared to the bar. The service was the fastest ever had at a restaurant before. I swear the waitress had a blur behind her when she walked. What ever we ordered was on the table under 5 minutes flat. Hot and ready. The food was excellent. I can't even explain on how good the food was. You have to try it yourself. I love food. I love home cooking and restaurant fare. I love Michelin Star restaurants and hole in the wall dives, when the food is delicious. Waterloo is a restaurant with a long history and a fun atmosphere. My husband and I were in the area and needed sustenance ASAP. He had been to Waterloo years earlier as had I. We decided to give it a go, and are we so glad we did! The interior is like an old dive bar/saloon, and I mean that in the best and most endearing way. It is the kind of place where there are no pretenses. It's a place where everyone is welcome. We were greeted and promptly seated. Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart and took our order quickly and brought us our food as soon as it was ready. I ordered the pesto pasta with a side of minestrone soup and my husband ordered the cheeseburger. My soup was very tasty and warmed my tummy. The pesto was equally delicious and very filling. My husband said his burger was one of the best he has ever had. It's a good thing that Waterloo is not super close to where we live because we would probably eat there every week! Thankfully it's not too far away so we can still make a trip to get some delicious food. read more

Came here to celebrate my dad's birthday and enjoyed every moment of dinner here. We came on a Sunday evening as a walk-in and to our surprise, it was not as busy as we thought it would be. We waited for about 20-30 minutes til we got seated. The restaurant has a full bar and it can get really busy and loud inside. We started off with salads and the shrimp peel and eat appetizer. We ordered the ribs, the ribeye special, the best steak in town, the seafood fettuccini, and a child's plate with ribs and spaghetti. All our dinners came with a choice of soup or salad, Bette's world famous pesto, a baked potato, or their homemade red meat spaghetti sauce. We all opted for the pesto because it is so delicious! Everything was great and I will always be a customer of this restaurant. I wanted to give a shout out to our waitress Betsy and her team! They are all amazing, especially Betsy. Really good steak! I went there for my birthday. Good cold beer and most importantly, great steak ! I also tried the salad and loaded potato. Service was attentive and friendly. The food and drinks were excellent. I had no complaints with the food or drinks. However my complaint was the service. My boyfriend and I felt very rushed to hurry up and get out. That was my impression. Which really sucked because after a long stressful week we both were looking forward to a nice relaxing dinner out of the house. We got served our soup and salad and drinks, then the entrees came. The servers kept coming by several times asking if they could take our plates and we weren't even done yet. We couldn't even relax. By the time I was almost done, she came by again and asked if we wanted boxes. I was like you know what just take it, I don't need a box. My boyfriend even was like you sure you don't want to take your food home. Nope, I was so put off by the experience. We were there a total of maybe an hr if that even ! Even the customers in other tables were receiving the same treatment, one gentleman I heard say I'm only half way finished with my meal. So I know it wasn't just us that was being rushed. The food/drinks were good. But for what we paid to not even have a good time. I doubt we will be back. It really sucks because we were hoping to make this a fun place to go eat and unwind after a long week since it's so close to home. read more

Everything was delicious! Was there for my friend's birthday celebration, with about 50 people and I got a wonderful steak dinner. Yet many others had ribs on their plates. So next time I will try the ribs. It's about 26 miles from my home, but well worth the drive. Servers were also the greatest. read more

This place is so good when I want some good pasta I know where I'm coming. Forget Olive Garden... I mean, Olive Garden, who? small parking lot and you can miss the place if you don't keep an eye out for the corner definitely recommend to try all pastas. I still haven't got a hold of the seafood pasta so I'll be visiting soon. Also, if you plan to share a plate they will charge you extra so just be aware ahead of time. read more

Swung in here off of a refferal from a buddy that lives in the area. Let me tell you it was one solid referral. From appetizers to our main meal to dessert, nothing disapointed. BBQ sauce was excellent, so good we bought to-go bottles. This is now most definately a stop for us everytime we go to Lockeford to get our sausages. Before I conclude this review, I have to tip my hat to the servers for their excellent service and attentivness. The only negative I have to say is that I have been missing out on all of this goodness for years. read more

So many of our guests complimented on how wonderful and delicious the food was and asked who we used. Working with Paul and Yvette was wonderful. They helped me figure out what I wanted to serve and the type of party I was having. There were barely any leftovers because people had gone back for seconds and thirds. I had ordered the tri-tip, chicken piccata, pesto pasta, Caesar salad, focaccia bread, and veggies- SO Delicious!!! It was so tasty and delicious. It was perfection!!! if you are considering to use a catering company for a big or small event I highly recommend using Heritage Dining and provisions, you or your guest will not be disappointed.

It's still the same building at the corner of Waterloo and N. Filbert st. and they have their own parking, which makes it easy to stop in. The chalkboard menu has been replaced with a digital menu, but all the old favorites are still available. Really, not much else has changed. They offer all day breakfast sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, additional sandwiches and some delicious fried options including multiple options of fries. They're also known for their milkshakes. The team here greeted us right away and gave us time to look over the menu and snap some photos before we placed our order. On this visit we ordered a small Rocky Road milkshake ($7.75) and a small is still a generous sized milkshake. I split it with my friend and it was plenty for both of us. One thing that makes their shakes special is that they blend them into a thick shake, but add an extra scoop of ice cream on top. This way it's nice and cold and you can scoop it or let it melt as you drink from the bottom of the shake and the thick consistency lasts longer. Stopping in reminded me why we love this spot and that I need to visit more often- especially for a full meal so I can enjoy their burgers again.

We called the restaurant and they didn't resend our fries since door dash said no at least they tried. In the restaurant this is $11.99 and $4.99 for a combo of that is still not even half the price we paid how is that even fair. Will never order from here.

Luckily, having used Ore-Ida fries at home a lot, I knew exactly how to doctor them up to turn the limp, moist, chew fry that was delivered to me into an edible crispy French fry. I have nothing against Ore-Ida, they are what they are and are great for their purpose, not what I would expect from a burger place that seems to ONLY specialized in burgers and fry's. Beyond the insult of blatantly using store bought fries and your own....the burger....can you freaking even call it a burger? The patty was literally made from frozen. I know because EVERY SINGLE made from frozen burger has a distinct texture and look to it. No nice thick hand formed patties that appear on their photos and descriptions while ordering form door dash. It quiet literally took me back to 2010, when I was a freshman in college and made frozen burger patties on my George Forman grill in the dorm rooms. Not to mention the vegetables that even subway would throw out, the stale bun and the "outlaw sauce" which is either siracha with a few extra ingredients or a completely misguided attempt at a knock of siracha sauce, which if that is the case....good lord. I had never heard of this place and wanted to try a new burger joint in Stockton, suffice it to say, I made this review despite their having a yelp page.....if they open up one on their own I will hope to post it there as well, it was just such an egregious meal I had to post something somewhere. I can only imagine the "kitchen" is a group of young college students playing video games and slapping a frozen patty on the George Forman every time an order came in. I paid an unbelievable 13.99 for that burger.....plus another 5.99 for the ore-ida fries. Either this place is cruel cruel joke against the people of Stockton, or the owners are operating on beyond razor thin margins. Id literally go hungry than pay this place over 20 dollars for this joke of meal.
