Came here for dinner on Friday afternoon for the first time. Everything is beyond great here. Very nice selection of beer. I ordered the steak with pesto I give it a 10. Our waiter was great glad to see establishments with great service still. If you can try come Fridays there clam chowder is delicious. read more

The service is five *****. Ashley was Outstanding. The New York Steak was cooked to our liking med ( internally temp144) The Green peppercorn gravy was ok I recommend : Make sauce: In the same pan, add( use Beam) brandy or cognac,simmer rapidly for 1 minute until the alcohol smell is gone; Add beef broth/stock, and simmer rapidly until it reduces by half (intensifies the flavour); Stir through cream and crushed peppercorns. Serve over steak! The mushrooms were canned, I know in the current inflation it must be very hard to get them. try: Here are the ingredients below: A can of mushrooms (obviously)  Pepper Parsley Flakes Butter Minced Garlic Worcestershire sauce. strain liquid and pat dry with a paper towel before placing in a sautee pan. the Baked Potatoe was perfect. the salad was excellent and the homemade ranch. The Minestrone soup was good. Bread (garlic) was a little hard to bite threw. steaks were 45$ 1LB-16oz each market prices w/ sides. Full bar and have everything you want. Highly recommend this landmark restaurant, we just celebrated a birthday there, and we were served very well and efficient, I had the house steak there and it was nice size big portions on each dinner plate, but we usually go there maybe twice a year just to go out for a nice dinner, highly recommend this place for people to try. read more

The restaurant is very casual and decorated with a ton of Giants and local sport memorabilia. The food was delicious and the servers were very friendly and attentive. I live in Discovery Bay and have passed by here many times on my way to Jackson. It's often jumping, full parking lot, and I have always wondered what it was like inside. Finally stopped in for lunch on Labor Day weekend and boy am I happy I did! This place rules! I had the steak lunch with their salad and minestrone soup. I am Italian and it is hard to impress me, but impress me they did! In fact, their peanut butter and chocolate pie blew my mind man!!! Cool, country bar atmosphere, felt like I was in Texas. We have been to Waterloo twice now and never a disappointment! Excellent customer service and the food is amazing. Our server was excellent and when she served the "Golden deliciousness " aka garlic bread we were in heaven. So, so good! Hubby and I both had the steak sandwich. Steak cooked to perfection! I had the side of amazing pesto pasta. Didn't get a picture of the side of mushrooms that hubby got but he couldn't say enough how good they were. We will be back! read more

We went Saturday night and it was a packed house. I asked how long the wait was and the lady told me she can't say but there are 8 people ahead of me. No problem, we'll wait. 45min later we're sitting down and ordering food. The food is good, the service was good. The menu is basically bbq (chicken or ribs), with a few additional items. But people come here for the chicken and ribs. The prices are a bit high, but what isnt these days. All in all a good experience. For me, my wife, and two kids (9y and 11y) we left with a total of $173.00 including the tip. More than we planned on but it is what it is. read more

No stars was deserved. WARNING! do NOT come here with a large group- reservation or not. We had a large party of 20 for a surprise party, with a reservation made well in advance. We were sat in 3 separate tables which wouldn't be so bad if they weren't completely separate, 1 of which was around a corner. We had asked the staff initially if they had something more together so our group was seated together. We were told no. This is it. After looking around there was other table options so our group could actually sit as a group. We asked if we could be moved. They said no. Those tables were reserved for a group coming in 30 minutes later. When I asked why can you seat that party here & give us those tables since we are also a reservation. We were told NO. Then we asked if we could move our tables at least closer together, we were told YES. So we squeezed in & did that. An older blonde hair lady came rushing over screaming & waving her finger at my face saying we can't move the tables Due to the fire Marshall. However it wasn't in a walk way- and I asked her to lower her voice and not point in my face because the server had just told us it was okay. After sitting there & still feeling terrible for those in our group that were seated so separate we asked in a final attempt if we could utilize the tables that were open that allow us all to sit together. At that point a "manager"'said "we aren't doing this." And I said doing what? She looked at me shocked, but it was an honest question. We chose to go our separate ways after talking to the general manager who also greeted us with a terrible demeanor, no solution and no remorse for the fact their server had a terrible attitude and we had a party of 20 that all gathered on time, to enjoy a meal. This place isn't that great to deal with that type of attitude. They also informed me they won't seat large parties together because they keep tables open for walk ins. So needless to say they do not ACCOMMODATE large groups. And they should not even accept those reservations. They should also brush up on their guest service skills. We got our large party of 20 in quickly at a nearby Resturant and it was much better! read more

Great restaurant and ambiance. Food is good and service is generally great. Portions are large tends to get busy on weekends.

The menus options are an excellent value. The dining experience overall is very pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant.

On arrival, nobody greeted us nor looked like they wanted to help us. We didn't know if we were supposed to seat ourselves or what. Employees walked past us a few times, but no greetings or anything. We eventually just walked into what looked like the banquet area and then saw more workers and just asked if we could sit down and one guy told us we have to wait in the front to be seated so we walked back n waited until he saw us still standing there 2 minutes later and had someone seat us. After we were sat, the service was good, but not great. Giving 3 stars because the food was all really delicious..other than that, they really lacked service. They need to work on that read more

Been coming here for about 20 years. We were out riding our Harley's with some friends on all the backroads and someone suggested we stop at Waterloo for dinner. Big mistake!!! Food was so good..... we were so full.... we dreaded our long ride home. Each time we knew we would be in the area we always made it a point to stop in and have dinner. Hubby always gets the mushroom bowl, I always get the ribeye and we both get the pesto pasta. Now we have moved and it is closer to us and we find ourselves going back more often than the usual once or so a year. read more

I noticed some items on menu was only available either throughout the weekdays or only sundays. So ill have to come back to try those. I've heard REALLY great things about this place, but haven't been able to try it. Tried to make a reservation, but they only take reservations for parties of 7 or more. Bummer, because I only have a family of 6, and can't take a chance (living almost 2 hrs away) that they will have anything available for when we get there. Guess I'll never know if they are really good or not. read more

Best Steak house in the Area and beyond. IMO. Been coming here for decades, before the second room was enclosed. The main reason is consistency. They always provide the same great meals year after year, drinks are made like they should be and service is what the standard should be for all restaurants. Even when they make a mistake, 2 in twenty years plus. They make it right and usually will provide a complimentary dessert. I can only say try it for yourself and thank me later. :P read more

First off everyone was friendly and nice. Drinks at the bar were strong and cold. Wish the tap beer came in more then 1 size. The menu is not huge. We had the mushroom bowl which I wouldn't suggest because it's just a bunch of mushrooms in gravy and if you add mushrooms to your steak they taste like the same ones but sliced. The rib appetizer was so yummy. The minestrone was delicious and my side salad was a little watery and didn't have anything but beets, kidney/garbanzo beans. We both got the famous new york steaks. The meat was delicious. He did red sauce and I did pesto. Both were great but I make a pretty good pesto so I would get red sauce next time. Bill for the 2 of us was about $125. We were staying with friends close by in the Morada area of Stockton and they wanted to have the ribs at Waterloo Club. My fiancé and I hapily decided to go a pick up the food!! This is perhaps the 10th time I have been to this rustic restaurant and it is still a great experience!! The ribs melted in your mouth, and the pasta was delicate and very flavorful with pesto. I have always liked the atmosphere!! If you never made it to Guisti's before it burned to the ground this place is quite similar!! The lunches are fab and do not forget to try the ribs!! One dinner can easily feed two if you are an average eater. With my big eater we still had leftover ribs with two dinners. We live almost 3,000 miles away so we can only come when we are in the area--but anyone in the area needs to try out this family owned treasure!!! ENJOY!!! read more

I am not a person who leaves reviews on places for many reason but felt like I needed to leave one for this place. Upon arrival we were seated quickly by a nice waitress. We came in with a party of 7 for an early Father's Day lunch. At one point I excused myself to use the restroom which my (intoxicated) sister followed me into the restroom to use her vape pen (not okay, and her fault 100%), but upon opening the restroom door our waitress and who I'm assuming was the owner, greeted us very rudely, and told me to "handle" my sister and many other things, and was very aggressive. An appropriate response would have been, "there is no smoking allowed in our establishment, if you are going to do that, please go outside and If you are not dining in, I will have to ask you to leave." I myself am a business owner, and although this was an unusual (and not okay of my sister) circumstance, you should always treat your customers with respect even if you are upset, not make them feel attacked. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable after what had happened with my sister and overheard a waitress saying "well this just sets my mood for the whole night", But obviously I was going to try to make the best of a bad situation and enjoy my meal. Our food: I ordered pesto, which was terrible and soggy, the waitress explained it was hand made pasta and that could be why, but if you are making hand made pasta and serving it on your menu, make it well, or don't make and offer it at all. I appreciate the effort but boxed pasta would have been better. She tried to make it right and had them remake the pasta (my mom asked, even though I didn't want it) and the 'fixed' version was still very soggy. I ate 4 bites overall and didn't want anymore. My boyfriends baked potato was also raw in the middle . The bill: Our tab was $234 and some change, as a business owner i always tip well and left $300. ($65 tip essentially) The waitress returned with my tip and said "gratuity was included in your bill, I'm not taking this" and after trying to explain why I tipped as I did l for only a second, she shoved my tip back into my purse and walked away. Why is gratuity included in the bill, but at the bottom of the receipt it says 15%, 20% and 25% tip amounts at the bottom? Was I charged gratuity because what happened with my sister and they thought I wouldn't tip? I left in tears, feeling insulted the waitress didn't accept my tip, and feeling as though my day for my dad was ruined. Overall, always treat your customers with respect. Accept their tips, and even in unusual or bad circumstances always be kind. I won't return. We all agreed our food was sub par, and I felt uncomfortable the duration of time I was in their establishment. You do not know everyone's life circumstances and this may have been my last Father's Day with my dad because of health reasons and for that reason always treat them with respect even if you're mad about what one person did. There was also 2 underage minors at the bar who I knew personally, and they were being served alcohol. Not sure if they had fake IDs or what the deal with that was, but they were drinking. There are nicer restaurants in the area that will serve you well and serve you better food. Overall: Food 2/10 Service 4/10 Experience 1/10 read more

Probably one of the best restaurant bbq's I have ever had. I qualify that because my foodie family does a mean bbq at home. But right now, we are talking about eating out. So, being spoiled makes it difficult to impress us. But Waterloo Club did just that. We started with calamari appetizer. LIghtly breaded and pan fried, it was done nicely. And a decent serving. I liked it more than the rest of the group. It came out as a calamari steak rather than rings, sliced into bite sized pieces, not crispy, but tender and less greasy than most. Then came our soups and salad. Most of us opted for clam chowder. A very good clam chowder I might add. The one who ordered the salad was also very happy. A well designed salad with lots of cheese, croutons, garbanzos, and other traditional goodies on it, it impressed us as a very good choice. The pork ribs (they don't have beef), winner winner, were bone lickin good, incredibly meaty and slow-cooked tender. The bbq sauce? I never heard of an Italian bbq sauce. But this one was slightly sweet and just fabulous. This is their own recipe, and they sell it too, once they have got you hooked. Easily done here. Two at our table had the 16 oz prime NY steak. They did a beautiful job of cooking these exactly as ordered, i.e. med rare. And a great grilled flavor. So tender, Mr. B complained he didn't need a knife. Just kidding, about his complaining, that is. BBQ chicken. Mine was breast meat, slightly overcooked, which loses me every time. If I had ordered just this, and not the combo with ribs, I would have had to hoist up my lip from dragging on the floor. My daughter however had a leg quarter, and was completely happy. The other real winner was the creamy pesto pasta. Offered as a side, and raved by so many Yelpers before me, this is quite memorable, believe me. So very different, we were convinced it had to be homemade pasta. Since this place does have an Italian influence, that is not a stretch, but we did not ask. However, if you are one of those people who like their pasta al dente, this was not even remotely al dente, and I am not sure if they do it that way. Dessert: We wanted to try everything. We ended up with a bread pudding, two blackberry pie slices and a peach-apple pie a la mode. This was NOT the highlight of the meal and could (and should) have been passed by. They were only just OK. The pie fillings were good, the pie crust, not. The bread pudding was not very flavorful and kind of overly mushy. Next time, we will have to pass. The ambiance, cutely rustic, with a large, old timey bar, and an outdoor patio brighly lit with Xmas lights. The service, excellent. The bill, whoo-eee. I don't exactly remember, but maybe $160 plus tip. But that being said, we don't come here often, so this is a wonderful treat, and I would do it again, with some well chosen restraint. read more
