Huge and delicious shrimp on my poboy, the poboy overall was very good! The fries are like they drop them before the grease is hot enough...or maybe they soak up the grease. They're soggy like but not exactly soggy. Nice environment indoors with what looks like a smaller bar outside, low music playing throughout the restaurant. I paid $20 for the poboy, fries, and tiny drink (refillable). You order at the counter where a big menu is posted to the side and wait for your food. Wow! Still offering an incredibly phenomenal hamburger, the Watergrill's new expanded menu now offers bacon wrapped shrimp, and sweet homemade cornbread. The lack of reviews for this place only means this is a locals place and they don't need Yelp to find good food. The packed parking lot also suggests something good is going on here. I was directed to try the Philly Cheesesteak. Not my first choice in a seafood town, or where the burgers on the grill smell so awesome. But I'm going with the recommendation. Counter service is friendly and maybe a tad slow for a lunch counter. But small town country ain't in no hurry, right? (Then again, the speed of service MAY have been impacted by the Ladies Club Christmas Luncheon on the other side of the dining room. Maybe). Atmosphere is nice - a good clean place (which may not be obvious from the street view), with a rustic decor. I ordered a small fries to go with my cheesesteak and discovered once again that Cajuns don't really understand "small" food portions. The fries are decent - nice golden brown color, but not crispy at all. :( The cheesesteak sandwich was very good. Not as good as Murphy's Tavern in Philadelphia, but then again we ain't in Philly. My friend told me this was the beat cheesesteak in town. I don't know how many places in Houma are actually selling cheesesteaks, but this could easily be the best. It's done well with lots of onion (and mushrooms if you ask for them). And it's big. Too much to finish (get a fork and eat the meat - leave the bread). Pro tip: there are no napkins on the table - peel off some paper towels from the roll at the counter when you order. Four stars - a place worth coming back to sometime. read more

I just had a birthday and I went there with my family for lunch. The place is so so cute. At least with the fish tank clean and alive with more than one small fish. I remember when they had a whole huge assortment of them. Nevertheless, still pretty. Anyways, we ordered and we took our seat. Soon after they called our number. It was nice and fast. I got the classic burger with fries and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The bun and patty were so buttery and soft. The fries were awesome. They're great with and without salt in my opinion. Hands down best burger in Houma. Old fashioned homemade. It's perfect!!! I could eat this 3 days a week except the fries are awe full. I don't want to go to 2 places to get dinner so I end up skipping the best burger in town because they have soggy fries. That's an easy fix. I will be checking in to see if they improve. read more

I had the philly cheesesteak. UGH!!! It was so so salty and either greasy or too buttery. I paid $15.70 for just the philly and a drink. The drink was a small 10oz cup in which with the salty philly I would have been back and forth to fountain to refill passing many other eating customers since there is no waitress and you self serve. Why such a small cup for dine in? Do you really want customers to keep getting up? But the salty salty philly was just too much for me, and there was no onion, no bellpeppers, no mushrooms, and melted "taste like cheddar" cheese sauce instead of real cheese (like provolone). I don't know why it was even called a philly cheesesteak. UGGHHH!!! First time, Tried you, now never going back. read more
