Param Long Song
Vicky B.

First time at their new location. Definitely feels like a cafe, there are just a few small tables. In order to view the menu, you had to either look at the wall, or scan the QR code. I didn't have any issues since I'm pretty familiar with Thai food, but I could tell my mom felt lost. I also heard another patron ask for "a menu that has descriptions". For these reasons, I think it would be nice if they had paper menus with descriptions available at least upon request, especially since not everyone has a phone that can read QR codes. I ordered the param long song (peanut sauce on veggies with a side of white rice) with tofu, and an iced jasmine tea. Both were pretty good! Service was good too.

With the Yelpies later that night, I decided to grab some takeout from somewhere local to celebrate the virtual awards ceremony. I happened to choose Water Lily Cafe. I called around 4:30pm to place my order for pickup at 5pm on my way home from the office. I ordered sesame gai, which was a chicken sesame dish with broccoli and white rice. I ordered the spice at a 2 out of 5, and I should have went with a 3. I also ordered shrimp spring rolls, which there were 2 in the order, and that came with peanut sauce. The staff are always pleasant and friendly when either on the phone taking your order, or when you arrive to pick your order up. The food was hot when I got it home. The sesame gai dish was very good. It was my first time having it, and is similar to sesame chicken. The spring rolls were good, but each only had one shrimp per roll. The peanut sauce was very good and complimented the spring roll well.

Yes, 5 Stars. Family owned, charming, clean, inviting, warm personable service with a smile and a witty joke or two. Now the food - we started with two appetizers, chicken satay and potstickers. Potstickers were extra crispy and extra flavorful - how did they do that? And the satay was like nothing I've ever had before... it blew all the other satay away, so far away that I now think I never really have had satay until arriving at the Water Lily Cafe. Although the menu is posted on the wall and I'm not truly familiar with all the Thai dishes, I simply picked a dish and what arrived to the table was a melange of wonderful things! Juicy chicken pieces floating in a creamy, moderately spicy curry with the "eggie-est" noodles I've ever tasted. All this was cooked to perfection. We fawned over other diners orders; everything that came out of the kitchen looked tempting! Before we had even finished our appetizers my husband asked if we could come back tomorrow. after dinner we both agreed, it was by far the best Thai food we've had in Buffalo. Dinners were filling, service was excellent. We'll be back soon!

Service was very slow. We were the only diners, 9 of us, but there were take outs. Still, didn't think we would wait over an hour for our food. Food was ok. I asked for Thai hot on my papaya salad and chicken holy basil, it tasted like medium hot. Had to get extra spice on the side. When the bill came, price on menu was not the same as what they charged. When I brought it up, they said menu prices was cheaper during Covid. I advised they changed it so it won't confused the customers, she just ignored me with even apologizing or acknowledging.

First time here and loved it, my wife has a lot of dietary issues and they were so helpful! The food tasted fresher than anywhere I have ever eaten. Vegetables were cooked perfectly! Can't wait to return and try more on their menu!

This place has the best gluten free Pad Thai in the area. Sadly they are rarely open so trying to get it is limited to never.

It was a different kind of Pad Thai with more of a fresh taste, not the traditional sauce, but it was good!

That includes clearing of items you're done with immediately and no waiting for your bill. I was never rushed; they were just great at their job! Honestly hard to find over the last few years and I was very grateful for that experience alone. The ambience was a very cozy-casual. As I was dining alone this time, I enjoyed the 80s music and videos playing on the TV haha I have to be honest ... I really really wanted to order a roll! But I'm trying to do better about trying other things. So I ordered the Atlantic mussels and the pan seared scallops with veggies with fresh ginger sauce and rice, at a spice level of 3/5. The mussels were very generous and in a large bowl. My biggest pull, aside from the mussels themselves, was that in the description it had a creamy coconut sauce. But I did not taste any coconut and it wasn't creamy. It was broth. It wasn't bad or anything, just not quite what I was expecting. I did appreciate, in general, that there were a couple of mussel options. I hadn't had them in quite some time. The dinner entree was very good. I loved that there was a 1-5 spice scale to choose from. I picked level 3 and was a little worried it wouldn't be spicy enough but it definitely was! It was perfect. The sauce was good and the scallops plump. Veggies were fresh and rice sticky. I had water to drink and it was also very good (felt it deserved a mention lol). I would definitely come back here, but I would definitely order rolls next time! It's what my heart really desires! Side note: great place to indulge in for a whole food diet! I felt very satisfied from my seafood and veggies!!

I never complain but when your standing in line a long time like you do at food truck Tuesday this can get annoying quick. Well last week I thought I'd try again, I looked up their items online to see what they looked like and decided the pineapple red curry chicken on jasmine rice looked amazing! I ordered and they said about 15 minutes, not bad I had stood inline over 1/2 an hour. Well they were taking so many orders and putting them on a pile and then they put them in front of the cooks backwards so now I waited over another 1/2 an hour and food trucks were ending and being told by security they had to stop taking orders. By the time I finally got my dish it looked like soup - I asked the lady and she says well yeah it's kind of a soup...everyone in line around me said that is not how it looks and they ran out of rice a while ago but we're still charging people full price including the 20 that ordered after me. So disappointing- it wasn't good at all. Hoping to find a good Thai restaurant in the future.

Love this new addition to the Buffalo food truck scene and can't wait to try more from them!

Thai Orchard has been that special "go to" restaurant through the years. Their delicious food was…read morethere to be picked up during the COVID years and they stayed strong. They serve top notch Thai food. What makes them extra special however is their service. The owner always greets diners with warmth. Tonight's message, "How are you? It's good to see you again." My server clearly understands the importance of caring friendly service and he treated me as a valued guest. The dining room is comfortable and quiet, which is perfect for dining conversations or just checking email if you are dining like I was. I will admit that the room has aged a bit but it's still clean and pleasant. My Tom Kha soup had a tasty broth and was filled with chicken. The Pad Kee Mao lacked "spiciness" even though it is described as "stir fried spicy flat rice noodles in chili sauce" and I asked for medium heat. However it tasted great but I know it would be even better with heat. So, my update still rewards 5 stars and if you are looking for Thai this is a great option?

Shrimp & pineapple curry is marked as their specialty. My friends like massaman curry and that is usually on a Thai restaurant's menu, it is not on the menu. For dessert we tried the sweet rice with custard. It is both sweet and savory, an interesting taste but not for me. The restaurant is clean with tasteful decorations, service was friendly.

My friend ordered the teriyaki salmon which was grilled nicely and had some veggies on the side. He tried black rice which he had never had before. He liked it. It is more nutritious than white rice. 5/5 on this dish. I ordered the Sun cuisine eggplant dish with shrimp and beef. The menu indicated that this was one of the popular and recommended dishes. Here's the problem: the beef was very scatty and looked like shredded pieces of "steakum" meat! There was maybe three pieces of shrimp in total. Lots of vegetables. Sauce was good and tasty. But the eggplant, which is supposed to be the star of the show, was rather soggy and coated with breading. Disappointing. This dish I would give a 2-3/5. The serving size is very big for both of the items we ordered from the Asian fusion side of the menu. We took leftovers home.
