Fresh flowers as always :). Since Covid, Thai Orchid Cafe has been offering takeout only. I'm excited that dining in is available again.

Is this the best, most authentic Thai restaurant in the area? I don't know. Thai Orchid Cafe is a small restaurant located in an ordinary plaza. It's like an exotic island in the middle of nowhere. There is always sunshine, great hospitality and, most importantly, delicious food. The atmosphere is relaxing, laid back, and I truly appreciate every aspect of the experience. It's an art of enjoying the little things. Looking at my plate with Shrimp Pad Thai makes me smile and feel happy. Do I need anything more? Maybe just good company, so we can share all these good things together.

Upscale Thai restaurant with disappointing portions and service. Food: Good flavor. Small portions for dinner. I was still hungry which was disappointing, considering how much the food was. Vegetables were chopped too big which impacted our eating experience. Service: Friendly but slow. There were a total of five parties in the restaurant, and it took 10 minutes to take our order. Ambiance: Relatively quiet. Nice tables and dinnerware. Don't look at the vents... they're really dirty.

Unfortunately this restaurant is suffering from a lack of help and seating too many tables. On our visit Friday it took a long time to be waited on and at first the restaurant wasn't crowded. All of our dishes came out barely warm. Also we have eaten here a lot and the portion sizes were a lot smaller. Flavors were spot on however it wasn't a great experience like we are use to at this restaurant.

I was a regular customer foe decades when I lived in Williamsville - and now I try to get my Thai Orchid Cafe fix whenever I'm back in the 716. Best Thai food in the area and beyond! Plus good prices and great staff.

First time back here since they shut down during the Pandemic. They have been doing takeout business for a while but recently reopened for eat-in service. The food is still great like i remember it. We will be coming back here often.

I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!

Freshly shucked oysters are a thing of beauty and Hayes did not disappoint. The Clams Casino are a house specialty which we highly recommend for the experience of a unique dish. We both ordered the broiled haddock and scallops for our entrees and could not have been happier. Perfectly seasoned and generous portions ensured a fabulous dinner. The absolute best lunch my mother-in-law and I have had in a VERY long time. This is by far the most incredible and freshest seafood in the area. We got there shortly after opening so it was not busy, but by noon, the line was out the door. Very clean restaurant. You can tell they pay attention to the place. Great decor, friendly staff. Plenty of seating room. The menu was a bit overwhelming. I ended up getting the blackened haddock platter (with red potatoes and coleslaw) and mom got the lake perch with the same sides. We both were in love at our first bite. The haddock was perfectly seasoned and I had no doubts it was cooked well. Lately I feel some places I have been served fish that isn't done. No doubts here. Coleslaw was saucy and flavorful. Potatoes were delicious and the meal also came with a roll. The perch meal was exactly what my mother in law was hoping for. She hadn't had it in a while and it was a heaping portion. She said it "barely" had much taste, which was a plus for her. The batter was clean, and you can tell fresh oil was in the fryer. While the prices are a little high for a normal lunch, they were worth every penny. We will definitely be back.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037
