Big order for Christmas party. Possibly the best General Tso I have ever eaten, and I have eaten a lot of General Tso. Did I say I like General Tso? We ordered "little spicy" because we were not sure, and that was the right decision. Might order a bit more spicy next time. If I remember correctly, there's five levels of spicy. Pork fried rice also very good. Egg drop soup very good. Sha Cha chicken might be my next Chinese takeout go-to. Similar to General Tso but different. Have not yet tried the Hot and Sour soup but it's waiting for me. Good Hot and Sour is hard to find. I will update once I try it. Giving this one 5/5 on the Chinese takeout scale. read more

This a convenient little take out spot -although they do have tables to eat in. I suspect most of their business is take out. I recommend the combination. Rice, entre and egg roll for $9.99 is a good deal these days. I had sweet and sour pork. The food is good for the price. Clean, quick service and nice people. read more

UPDATE 11/24/24: ** Warning ** Check your CC Statement! New ownership has made some lovely changes, but some things are having me change my 5-star review to a 2-star. The good: - Warmer, brighter interior - When they get it right, their food can be quite good! - Love the warming-bag they keep orders in for pickup.. great idea! The less-good: - Very inconsistent. Sometimes good, often lacking spice and flavor - Ordered pork fried rice in last order -- NO actual strips of pork, just tiny dots of red pork !! SURPRISE CHARGES !! This is a big deal. After reviewing our recent receipt and looking at our CC charge, we saw the following: + $1 Processing Fee (for CC?) + $6.82 "Service Charge" ?!!!! For what?! This was not disclosed. !! The receipt total was $57.30. Our CC statement shows they charged $59.02, so they added an additional 3% to the final total post service-charges. ?!!! Without consent.. and again -- for what? Update... I'm not sure if ownership has changed or what. Whatever has happened it hasn't been for the better. We order once every few months for at least twenty years. We moved across town and still ordered from there. The last three times the food has been horrendous. I used to love their dumplings. They have 100% changed. They now seem like the frozen cheap Wegmans brand. The fried rice has no flavor and most of their dishes taste like they were prepared in old oil. I don't know what happened. We went back after the first bad experience thinking we might have caught them on a bad day. We gave them two more chances, but nope, we're done. I used to enjoy going in and seeing the young woman that worked out front. She's been gone also. I do not recommend Chinese Cookery anymore. Sorry. read more

Went here bec nearby Wok 28 is closed on Mondays. Was disappointed. Hot and sour soup was just ok, not even close to as good as the one I got at Wok 28 in the last week. Noodles weren't good. Egg rolls were small and pretty much only cabbage inside. No pork noticeable. Pork lo mein was probably best; had a fair amount of pork but had the most sauce I've ever had with lo mein. Usually it's just ever so slightly coated with stir fry sauce and/or oil but this had way more which isn't a good thing. Also I ordered online and they didn't confirm a pickup time by phone or text; I called and they said it's ready. When picking up I asked if they let customers know their order is ready and I was told by the guy that he didn't know. Also they charge a processing fee which makes no sense. read more

Ordered quick for myself cause husband wanted to eat elsewhere in the plaza and what a treat! I got the Egg Drop Soup and Lemon Chicken and they were both delicious! This place is basically a takeout restaurant. A very young kid was running the register yet he was nice and professional which gave the place a certain charm. There are just a couple of tables to eat at. I wish they had chopsticks set out, because I had to use a flimsy plastic fork. We were pretty satisfied with our order here today. We ordered Bourbon chicken, Chicken Lo Mein and General Tso's chicken. The portion sizes are huge, and the food was hot and fresh. This place is one of my favorite Chinese takeout restaurants in all of Western new York. They are fast, efficient, they get the order right on the first try, and the food is consistently excellent. You can get your egg foo young without sauce or with sauce on the side, your cold sesame noodles with extra peanut sauce, they accommodate all requests. This place has been around certainly for 30 years and possibly longer. They deliver, and they have never let me down. read more

I have to say this is a pretty good Chinese spot. I've been here a few times now and the bourbon chicken is on point. I love that they have real eggrolls and not spring rolls as some places do. The food is definitely reasonably priced and good portion size. I usually get a combination platter and with the side I substitute rice for Lo mein and a shrimp eggroll. This is one of my favorite places to get Chinese although I do need to try something different on the menu. Call ahead and food is always ready when you arrive! read more

I love this place. Definitely not the cheapest but not too expensive, it is certainly authentic. When I walked in the front door it smells like a Chinese buffet rightfully should. I went up to the counter grabbed my food that I ordered online and was cashed out by a 7-year-old boy who could barely see over the counter. As he slowly grabbed his step stool to reach the counter didn't really speak to me just told me a number and got me some change. Can't complain though! The Chinese cookery is one of our favorite Chinese spots. You can tell the food is made well and authentic. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious as well as cost friendly. One of my favorite fast food chinese restaurant. I'm not like a super big fan of chinese fast food but this is the our to go to place when we do want some. The price is super afforable compare to many other chinese fast food places. They give you a good amount of food for the price you pay. My boyfriend loves their sesame chicken combination because of how crispy the chicken is and the quantity. I love getting their friend chicken wings. They smell so good and tastes great even though it is not healthy for you. The price for the friend chicken is definitely cheaper than most places. I believe they are only $4.75 for an order. I love getting their Chow Ho Fun. Not many chinese fast food places makes ho fun noodles and I'm glad I found a place that makes this for a very decent price! read more

I kneeled down in a puddle of Chai Tea, and now I have Chai Knees. But hey, there are worse things to have such as nuts swimming in your curry like its going out of fascism. Some of the worst Chinese food I've had in Buffalo, but they make the effort, and they cut out the MSG which is appreciated, and their prices are dirt cheap, so 3 stars is fine. But the shrimp curry had very little curry or spice taste, was not moist at all, and was honestly mostly nuts. I don't mean nuts like crazy, although it's crazy to think anyone would like their shrimp curry to be full of nuts. The Nutty Professor would love the hell out of this place. read more

My coworker had told me about this place, and said that they had $5 lunch specials. With that price in mind, I had to go try it for myself! The restaurant is located in a plaza that is pretty busy during the day because there are other shops there, such as Dollar General, Subway, Elmos, Pho restaurant and Bank of America. Upon walking in, I noticed that there were only a couple of tables in there. While you can opt to eat in, it is probably designed more so for pickups. The lady behind the counter was very nice and cordial. She even smiled at me!! I placed my lunch order, which was beef and broccoli and it came with rice and soup... All for about $5.35 plus tax! Not bad. Without ordering ahead, my food was packed and ready to go in about 5 minutes. The beef and broccoli was pretty good, and like many other beef/broccoli entrees at any other Chinese restaurants. The soup (wonton) was a little bland and flavorless though. In the bigger scheme of things and for $5 lunches, I had a good experience... 3.5 stars for the food but 5 stars for price, with an overall score of 4 out of 5 stars. read more

This place has a lot going for it: inexpensive, huge portions (I got 3 meals out of this), good flavors, and excellent tofu. There are a decent amount of vegetable options. If you are vegetarian or vegan be sure to specify no fish. Over the phone they told me it's in a lot of their sauces and dishes. The food from this place is usually good but I had the worst experience yesterday. I ordered the chicken lo mein meal ahead of time online so that it would be ready for me to pick up. When I got to the restaurant, the lady told me she forgot and I had to stand and wait there about 15 minutes for them to make my order.
