Loved the food the price wasn't bad for the amount of food you get I would definitely share the plates

Update: subtracting 1 star because my kid got sick from the oily food. Never again. The staff was so nice and the facility is very clean however we just didn't care for the food itself. We ordered the cajun mix for crawfish and snow crab and garlic butter snow crab. All the boils are doused full of butter flavored oil (not real butter) which didn't allow for any flavor to reach your tongue or the meat. I may be spoiled with real Louisiana and Texas crawfish and seafood boils but the oil was so unpleasant. The crawfish was oily, flavorless, and tasted dirty. The crab was probably presalted and just reheated in the boil. I asked for some cajun seasoning and salt to sprinkle on top but there was just too much oil. I am disappointed with this type of boil and hope I can find a more traditional type with no oil somewhere in Buffalo. read more

This is such a fun concept, brought me back to seafood boils on the boardwalk of Maryland. Our server was great, the place is so cool, you can write on the paper table cloth, the walls, the pillars outside. Fun experience all together! The food was delicious we got combo number 6, it had crab legs, 2 lobster tails, shrimp, potatoes, sausage and corn. It's fed 3 people no problem. We ordered it with garlic butter and mild. Husband got his Gumbo with Appetizers. My sandwich came out 15 minutes later and he had finished eating. After removing a lot of lettuce, then I could taste how well it was. Stopped in on a Sunday morning and was seated right away! The shark bite margarita was perfect. It really paired well with the boil. We got Combo C and added eggs and muscles. No sausage since we do not eat red meat. The crabs were a great size and perfectly cooked. The sauce was the right amount of spice and I love that there was so much of it! Great seafood here and attentive service, visited multiple times throughout the years, although competition has been heating up, Storming Crab still keeps the same level of quality and service here, if not even better. During my most recent trip, we had the shrimp and snow crab leg combo with house Cajun and garlic butter, they are both very good. We discovered there is also amazing hibachi option now for lunch and dinner, my kid tried chicken hibachi dinner, it was tasty! He loved it and finished them all without any complaints. This is genuinely my favorite seafood place. I rave about it to everyone, however today I had the worst most unprofessional experience with my server Annie. Mind you I got there and was ignored while she bussed tables. When she finally did come she took my order and forgot to bring me my appetizer additionally the special I ordered was snow crab I never have liked Dungeness crab and would never order it but that's what I received. I did not eat it because I don't like it and Annie proceeded to argue with me about what I ordered. Either way I wasn't looking for a discount I couldn't care less about that it was just simply how the situation was handled that really bothered me. This place is a little deceiving at first. You get a weird vibe because there is graffiti everywhere! That is just the theme of the restaurant. The mussels were absolutely huge and delicious! Best mussels I have had! I regretted only getting 6. The snow crab tasted average. The old bay and garlic butter came in containers and seemed to have been stale and definitely not freshly made. We visited on a Saturday afternoon for dinner. There were plenty of tables to be had. Our orders came with a complimentary basket of seafood bread. It was great! I ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo which was quite spicy, as it should be. I also got a fried oyster poor boy. This proved difficult to pick up but I managed and I thought it was very good. Fun place for a group or just to get some great seafood. I didn't know this place was here but am happy that we were recently invited for a birthday dinner. The menu is mostly seafood and it seemed that the popular option was a combo plate. There were several options of combos that each came with 1 lb. Of each featured seafood/ protein mentioned plus potatoes and corn on the cob. It was plenty of food for 2, maybe even 3 people. The seafood mostly came steamed and there were choices of seasoning and also heat level. It was reminiscent of a New Orleans seafood boil, which was news to our ears. We chose combo 4, Cajun flavor, med heat, and were thrilled with our choice. The seafood was flavorful and cooked perfectly. We left stuffed from eating almost all seafood. The seasonings were very flavorful and spot on. We were very impressed and will come back soon. This is a pretty big restaurant and there are a lot of big tables. It was decorated with a lot of fishing and aquatic themes. Guests are allowed to write their name or notes around the walls which was a fun touch. This place is pretty good for a seafood boil place in Buffalo, location is relatively close to University at Buffalo north campus. I got one of the seafood combos and it comes with snow crab legs and potato pieces, corn and other seafood such as shrimp with cajun sauce. I also tried it last time with garlic butter and both are pretty good but it depends on each person's preferences. They come with free seafood bread that has crab meat and cheese on a piece of bread, and it is one per person and that is one of my favorite parts of the meal. We were given some tasty complementary bread to start off and chose two different combos for the seafood boil. My husband also got the clam chowder. For the seafood boil you can choose the level of spicyness and which flavor you want. We went with the mild Cajun flavoring. Overall the seafood was quite tasty! Came here with my family/party of 8 and we were able to be seated right away on a weekend lunch. There were only a couple of other tables seated on the other end, and they were very accommodating to switch TV channels for us. But onto the food! Cooked in a bag with flavoring , sausage, corn and potatoes .... you can chose from a choice of half lb or lb combinations of seafood favorites ala carte or pick a platter combo (for a reduced price) with no substitutions. I'm a simple gal, so I got the seafood combo with 1 pound crab and a half lb shrimp and my friends opted for 1lb crab and 1lb crawfish. I chose their special preparation combo with no heat. They give you a bib and the cracking utensils, so I geared up and took the obligatory selfie pics before we got our food. (not a long wait at all, btw) And seafood we received. Our server poured the contents out of the bag onto a platter and I started drooling immediately. I will say if you don't love garlic, you might wanna tell them to go easy on it.... it was very buttery and garlicky . The seafood was plump and not dried out . The sausage was juicy and smoky, even the potatoes and corn were yummy. I probably could have finished all the seafood if I truly applied myself, but instead I left some to take home (they packaged it nicely so it wouldn't leak) . There are lots of these type of seafood establishments popping up in the WNY area but our table agreed, so far this one is the best! read more

Wow, what a fun experience and delicious seafood. Our waiter Chris was very helpful explaining the entire menu and creating a dish that we could all enjoy. Food came out hot and ready with copious amounts of butter, salt, and spice. Big meaty portions of crab, nicely split open for easy access (wear the bib, it helps) accompanied by potatoes, corn and sausage. The boil can easily feed 4 or more people depending on how big of an eater your crew consists of. And don't forget that they start you out with a glorious serving of warm cheese bread. A public sink in the dining area is a great way to wash off the deliciousness once your meal is completed. Looking forward to going back and trying some more options. read more

Fresh seafood, meat came right off the shell, price was just above $60, very reasonable as some city places nickel and dime you for potatoes, corn and sausage. Service was good, lady checked up on us often enough. If you have a birthday to celebrate, they will sing for you and give you ice cream, no candles. Decor was quite great, had a wall with different seafood in the ocean for picture taking. Above the entrance is a giant snow crab. Throughout the restaurant you will find signatures of patrons that have came , on the beams, the seats everything. I found that to be a nice touch to the decor. For a Saturday evening It was pretty empty but the service was still amazing. Our server was very sweet and patient. I was disappointed with the drinks. We had the electric lemonade and the calypso cooler. The electric lemonade was very sweet and you didn't really taste alcohol. When you are seated they bring you some hot cheesy garlic bread. My and the wife and my parents decided to try Storming Crab on a whim. We go in, not many booths taken, I get worried. It was a Monday so whatever. Get seated immediately, and we're handed crab menu along with a hibachi menu...huh... what do these 2 have to do with each other? I asked if they were transitioning menus they said no. So we got raw oysters, steak and shrimp hibachi, and crab... and you know what, they were ALL FANTASTIC! The oysters were some of the best and freshest we have ever had. One of my favorite places to order seafood boils in Buffalo. There's actually a lot of flavors and kick to the butter which is smeared well into the seafood. I have dined in and ordered take out multiple times, and take out honestly is pretty great because the food stays warm in the warm butter inside the plastic bag. The only thing that would have been better would be their Dungeness crabs could have been better but considering that we are in the East coast , it's probably hard to get fresh ones especially if it's out of season. They server you cheese bread when you dine in which does not when you order take out. The service was good and it was interesting to see the servers shake our seafood boil bags in front of use when we dined in.
