Ambiance
Myra C.

The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Our server was very informative and made suggestions, which was great!. The ambiance, I was surprised there was graffiti on the walls everywhere!. I would definitely come back because the food was delicious.

Husband got his Gumbo with Appetizers. My sandwich came out 15 minutes later and he had finished eating. After removing a lot of lettuce, then I could taste how well it was. Went for Boudin but they didn't have it anymore. Prices OK, Portions were Good, you won't need a to go box, but you won't leave hungry either.

Amazing time, seafood was delicious and had the perfect amount of spice!! Recommend this place staff is also very sweet.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning and was seated right away! The shark bite margarita was perfect. It really paired well with the boil. We got Combo C and added eggs and muscles. No sausage since we do not eat red meat. The crabs were a great size and perfectly cooked. The sauce was the right amount of spice and I love that there was so much of it! The rice was not needed, but definitely paired well! The restaurant is very open and spacious. Great family environment!

This place is a little deceiving at first. You get a weird vibe because there is graffiti everywhere! That is just the theme of the restaurant. The mussels were absolutely huge and delicious! Best mussels I have had! I regretted only getting 6. The snow crab tasted average. The old bay and garlic butter came in containers and seemed to have been stale and definitely not freshly made. I'm glad I ordered those on the and not mixed with the crab legs. Our waitress was super friendly.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon for dinner. There were plenty of tables to be had. Our orders came with a complimentary basket of seafood bread. It was great! I ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo which was quite spicy, as it should be. I also got a fried oyster poor boy. This proved difficult to pick up but I managed and I thought it was very good. My wife had the fried scallop basket which I also sampled and was very pleased with it. This is a good place to come for seafood.

Fun place for a group or just to get some great seafood. I didn't know this place was here but am happy that we were recently invited for a birthday dinner. The menu is mostly seafood and it seemed that the popular option was a combo plate. There were several options of combos that each came with 1 lb. Of each featured seafood/ protein mentioned plus potatoes and corn on the cob. It was plenty of food for 2, maybe even 3 people. The seafood mostly came steamed and there were choices of seasoning and also heat level. It was reminiscent of a New Orleans seafood boil, which was news to our ears. We chose combo 4, Cajun flavor, med heat, and were thrilled with our choice. The seafood was flavorful and cooked perfectly. We left stuffed from eating almost all seafood. The seasonings were very flavorful and spot on. We were very impressed and will come back soon. This is a pretty big restaurant and there are a lot of big tables. It was decorated with a lot of fishing and aquatic themes. Guests are allowed to write their name or notes around the walls which was a fun touch. The service was also amazing and they were kind enough to bring the birthday girl some ice cream.

Stopped by for the first time at Storming Crab...I ordered the scallops and fries dinner...delicious. the scallops were great. Before my meal arrived, a basket of seafood bread was delivered...I wasn't expecting this but it was also delicious. My husband got the oyster Po'boy and seafood gumbo which also looked really good...will definitely go back if in the area! Service was also good!!!

Ask the Community - Storming Crab

Is the restaurant expensive?

Yes it is..if your familiar with red lobster. It's a little more than that

If you take out order do they come with tools?

No I’m sorry unfortunately we don’t provide tools and they all sold separately

I dont like crawfish or clams can i take that out a combo with king crab? Whats the pricing for each combo in buffalo ny? Please reply😊

They do allow you to substitute items, depending on what you are substituting there may be an up charge. I don't know their pricing offhand, but trust me ONE bucket is PLENTY for at least two people!

Do they have public Wi-Fi?

Not yet for Knoxville location but we working on it

Are you able to order take out?

Yes! Reheating the food can be tricky though

Do they have anything going on for Happy Hour?

No liquor last time I checked, but I was told they were ordering it. Bucket specials are like 20 bucks for 6 beers now.

We placed a reservation and were told when our table was ready. Our server Ruby was outstanding! She promptly brought more drinks, answered questions and gave us the time to decide. The breaded fish was delicious, as was the Mac salad and slaw. I chose onion straws as my third side. They were fine and would have complimented a steak nicely. My fault, they were lost under a fried fish. They had a good crowd despite the frigid conditions and the lot was well plowed. I should have gone with the mac and cheese. It looked great and everyone else liked it. Shout out to Ruby who certainly made our night. A great place for Mardi Gras reveling in a few weeks!

When I walked in, a few people were sitting at tables and some at the bar, and as time went on, it started to fill up a bit more. I ordered the gumbo and the crawfish po'boy. Both were solid choices; the gumbo had great flavor, and the po'boy really hit the spot. I got the remoulade on the side, which ended up being a great call. If I'm ever back in Buffalo, I'll definitely stop by again to try more of their menu.

We made reservations online at the restaurant's website after reading reviews and viewing photos…read morethat this might be a cozier sized restaurant. Mind you this place is located near UB South, on Main Street so traffic can get tricky if you don't know what you're doing or where you're going. There is street parking, but during peak hours you might be hard pressed to find a spot. We walked in after parking on the street, and the door was propped open and the garage style window was open bringing a nice breeze into the restaurant. The entry way is accessible as it is a small incline walk in which is great for those who are using wheelchairs/canes/walkers. We went to the hostess booth and informed we had a reservation and were promptly sat near the patio window area so we definitely could people watch. Our waitress was patient and sweet while we tried to decide what we wanted of all the delicious options to be had. The restaurant does have a specials menu that may rotate out on the day, they'll post the specials on their website before opening is my understanding. Drinks: We both had water, I got a blackberry smash, and he had two grapefruit flavored beer (which was delicious and I'm not a beer person superbly). My blackberry smash was pretty strong and tasty- it lasted past the meal which is a good sign in my book to savor it. Dinner: He got the shrimp po boy (fried shrimp,Tabasco garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, blue cheese crumble), on a roll and it comes with sweet potato fries. The shrimp was beautifully cooked and crispy with a well appropriately coated. The sweet potato fries were tangy and delicious. I got the blackened halibut kabobs (coconut rice, pineapple salsa, soy-sesame glaze). And a side of the rosemary Mac and cheese. The kabobs were so delicious- the halibut fell apart and was tender. Coconut rice was on point with the pineapple salsa, it was like a meal and a dessert at the same time. There were some peppers that had a kick so I gave them to him to eat and he loved them. I didn't even get to the Mac and cheese because the halibut was so filling! He had some Mac and cheese though and really enjoyed it. I had it boxed up for me to have a nice snack. This was a very pleasant surprise. Tangy and delicious and hit the nail on head for taste and service.

Indoor was very much reminiscent of a typical bar area on one side and then regular table seating on the other side. The day we went the weather was warm enough for their big doors to open up on to the patio seating out front. The bread and butter they served was delicious and we appreciated being able to try different breads. The shrimp and grits were delicious and they use really big sumptuous shrimp. I actually got pretty filled up and couldn't finish my seafood stew so ended up bringing half of it home. So portion sizes here are definitely big and everything tasted fresh! Their seafood stew is very generous with the seafood and the bread for dipping was delicious as well. Will definitely be adding this to our rotation here in Buffalo!

Stumbled upon here as I was searching for hidden gems. It's a shame more people don't know about this kitchen. Came in on a Saturday night around 7pm. Ordered the Blackened shrimp po boy and the Szechuan Udon with shrimp which has noodles stir fried & tossed with veggies in a spicy Szechuan inspired sauce. Both were tasty. Seasoned beautifully. Had lovely colored and delivered with every bite. Honestly it was so good that two hours later I came back and ordered food for my family. They licked the plate clean. We were looking for cajun food and stumbled upon this hidden gem. When I say hidden, its hidden tucked inside an old industrial building (with zero street signage) that now houses a bunch of pop up culinary surprises. On the second floor tucked in the back corner you will find Far East Bayou. This casual take out restaurant, is a fusion of Southern New Orleans and Korean flavors. The chef was extremely friendly and ready to take us down his culinary journey down the bayou. I ordered a bunch of different dishes for my husband and I to sample: Shrimp Bo Poy - blackened, shrimp po boy- fried, crab hush puppies and honey cajun udon noodles. Everything was extremely flavorful! The sauces were out of this world. They had a nice spice on them. Not a spice that sets your mouth on fire, but spice that is flavorful and enhances everything else on the plate. The fried shrimp was super crispy and the cornmeal breading was perfectly seasoned. My only complaint is the preparation of the shrimp. The shrimp are prepared with their tails on, which made it difficult to eat. We had to dig through the sauces and toppings to find each shrimp and pull the tails off . I learned the owner makes his own kimchi, which is made using more spices and vegetables and less fish. He allowed me to sample some, and I will be dreaming about this kimchi tonight! I will definitely be coming back to try their rotating specials menu, and grab some more kimchi!
