Reviewing a Chinese takeout restaurant is hard because, well, they are all basically the same. After 2 attempts I can say that while it's not great it gets the craving done. The general Tso and sesame chicken are good but just very meh. They are the only place I know of that doesn't allow you to substitute lo mein for the fried rice. The last visit we had (at 6pm, prime dinner time) the food just felt old and not fresh, like leftovers from a mall food court at the end of the night. The same with the egg rolls as well. While I don't think it's the best option we will be back because it's just good enough and just close enough to us, but everyone I've spoken to is very nice there. read more

I've heard great things about this place time and time again, but I've been here 3 times already and I am officially never going back. The food here is so bland and so expensive for the small portions. This isn't like a typical Chinese restaurant where you get enough food to last you dinner and lunch for the next day. You get a small portion that will make you want to stop by McDonald's to get something to fill you up. As I mentioned in my previous review, the crab ragoons need to be taken off the menu. These are by far the worst I've ever had. 80% of them have no filling. And the tiny bit of filling you get is completely flavorless. The shrimp mei fun I got was flavorless and had 3 pieces of shrimp in the entire thing. I appreciate the vegetables in there. It was nice to see some mushrooms which is not what most places offer. The general TSO is always the best thing. Big chunks of actual chicken breast, but also lacking flavor. Did I mention how pathetic the crab ragoons are? A friend of mine was telling me about how they offer gluten free options, which is a rare find. We finally got a chance to try it out. We ordered the beef with onions and peppers, non gluten free, and the sweet and sour chicken with white rice and egg drop soup, which was gluten free, as well as beef mei fun, which was gluten free. It was great having sweet and sour chicken again. I know it is an Americanized dish, but I like it. Next time, I will try some other things that aren't fried. It was good. The mei fun was also good, but could have used more flavor. Phil said his beef was good, and that he was glad they can accommodate most items as gluten free. We will be going back to try other entrees. Everyone was exceptionally friendly. There is indoor dining and the place was clean and quaint. I came here two days ago with a friend. They offer Szechuan, Hunan, and Cantonese food. I had a Diet Pepsi and edamame as an appetizer. The server brought out crispy noodles and a duck sauce. I ordered shrimp with mixed vegetables and had pork fried rice as their side. It was one of their lunch specials. Their lunch specials are available 11am-3pm, except on Sundays and holidays. I paid a .75 up-charge to get an egg roll. My friend enjoyed his meal too. This place has the best Asian food that I've ever had. This restaurant offers a few different kinds of sake. I was so pleased. The staff were nice. They gave their own parking lot and they accept credit cards. Their hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11am-9pm and Sundays 2-8pm. This place is a bit far, but we will go out of our way to order here. First off, the owners are the sweetest. I once called to order general Tso chicken for my husband and told the owner he wants it to be a level 11 on the spice scale. He said "11?! Too spicy! Don't call back to tell me he died". Besides being the only Chinese takeout restaurant to really make me feel welcome, their food also shows they care. So much here is made from scratch. You'll wonder what every other place is using as chicken after trying it here. But the real reason we love this place so much is their fried rice. The rice that comes with the combos is good, but when you order fried rice on its own it's out of this world. When ordered alone they make a special order of rice with fried egg and bean spouts in it as well as the meat & veg you'd find in the combo rice. This is our go to Asian take out restaurant when we are home and don't feel like cooking. Staff is always friendly, prices are reasonable, food is always hot and fresh. I ordered Singapore mien fun today and I am quite disappointed. First the price has gone up significantly, second the flavor was missing and lastly, ingredients and proportions cut back as well. Stopped going there about two years ago when they moved from the plaza Down the road. Just didn't like the food. The rice is a issue. Fried rice is not dark brown. They don't make it to order. I know the soy sauce gives it a slight brown. But the egg also should give it color. Counted 5 pieces of pork in it. I know they make it ahead of time and not to order. Wanted food extra spicy. Could not do it gave me chili oil on the side. Why that's special order I was told. Ok so not made to order. Sweet and sour chicken was good. Crispy and tasty. We stopped on a whim after running an errand in the area. It had good reviews and we figured we'd give it a try. It looks kinda blah from the outside, but it's cozy and clean inside. We were greeted and seated quickly. We both ordered lunch specials (General Tso's chicken, and Orange chicken) and a soda. The wonton soup was perfection. It was a light chicken broth with delicate wantons and fresh scallions. Our entrees were delicious. The chicken was tender, lightly breaded, and perfectly presented not swimming in sauce. Driving through Alden, today, me and my husband stopped for some lunch. (I remembered seeing good reviews on Yelp, and wanted to try it.) Super crispy noodles and sweet dipping sauce came first. I ordered the Thai chicken, with creamy coconut, and curry, with vegetables, which came with rice ($9.95.) Was very good. It just needed a bit more oomph, so we asked for a sauce to add to it. Owner brought out some hot chili oil, which made the dish fantastic. My husband had the spring rolls, and Tom Yum soup ($5.95) which he loved. All in all, it was a great lunch. The owners are very friendly and speak very clear English, their young son actually opened the door and greeted me on my 1st visit : ) So far I have had their General Tso Chicken with the pork fried rice and last night I tried their Orange Chicken again with their pork fried rice. Both dishes were DELICIOUS! The chicken is real tender white meat that you can cut with a fork! The flavors in both dishes were amazing and that rice!! I usually use a lot of soy sauce but not with this rice! It's has enough great flavor that you don't even need soy sauce! Hidden gem located in Alden. Tony has great creations with extremely authentic tastes. With his addition of Thai food he really has it all. Try the Honey Walnut Shrimp better then PF Chang's version. I travel the world and have guests visiting from China regularly and they all love Tin Chi House and everything Tony makes. The owner Tony and his wife make incredible food. My husband and I have ordering from Tin Chi for many years. I love it even more since they added their Thai and Vietnamese menu. Some favorite dishes are the seafood pad thai, fresh spring rolls, creamy coconut red curry, orange chicken, egg foo young and the hot and sour soup. We've been never disappointed. Although my husband doesn't care for their wonton soup. Tony has delivered to us many times as well. He is a football fan and always like to chat about the Bills. By my last count there are 4 Chinese restaurants on the stretch of Broadway between the villages of Lancaster and Alden, and arguably, this is the best of the four. Service was prompt, courteous and competent. Food was good - evidence that WNY is advancing beyond our beloved Chinese buffets and take out joints. I started w a hot and sour soup that was excellent. My wife had a rice & chicken soup that she liked, but that I thought was a bit boring. My wife's beef curry was very good. My orange beef was a huge improvement over the thickly battered versions some places offer (you could actually identify orange peel!) They offered an excellent ice cream dessert that wasn't on the menu. If they have it, worth a try - pistachio/chocolate/raspberry dipped in chocolate. I'm not a big dessert guy, but this was good! Food was good, restaurant was not. The male owner said he never heard of shrimp sauce or yum yum sauce, he was so rude and a liar. I asked for duck sauce he gave me sweet & sour sauce. The food isn't typical Chinese fast food, it's more of a gourmet Chinese food. I got the chicken and veggie dinner which was good and my husband got the eggplant dinner which he didn't like. Their was a young kid using a remote control vehicle in the restaurant. He was driving it around us and other people eating and when we would look up at the noise the boy would have a stare down with whoever looked. Obviously this kid was the son of the owners. When the boy wasn't playing with the car he was watching his tablet which we assume was a game with a lot of noises and also playing the song "baby shark", very loud. It was my first time there as our local Chinese place closed in EA. The people that own/work there are the nicest people you could know but the food isn't like the Chinese takeout I've been used to. It was good but not great. I ordered 3 egg rolls, House Lo Mein, General Tso's Chicken and Chicken in Garlic Sauce. It came with white rice and 3 fortune cookies. The House Lo Mein had ONE shrimp in it. It was ok tasting. Not as good as I'm used to. The General Tso's Chicken and Chicken in Garlic sauce were more like sweet and sour dishes. Whenever I've had them at other places they both pack a punch and can cause your nose to run and your eyes to water.....which is what they're supposed to do! The serving sizes were quite sparse also. These 3 dishes with 3 egg rolls came to $45.00!! I almost died when he told me what it came to. I had no idea the prices were so high as the only menu I had was the online one, which was apparently outdated. They are very lovely people there but I won't be going back again. read more

Ordered our food took over 45 minutes to get our food after I complained that some one came in and ordered take out and got there food before we did. I often eat Chinese food and Tin Chi House is one of the best restaurants. I had the General Tso's chicken and it was delicious. There was very little breading in the large chunks of white meat.
