New Rheem 50 gal gas water heater
    Bob F.

We've used Jim twice now over a period of 10 years and his pricing, product, and workmanship remain second to none. I contacted him yesterday, telling him our unit was still working fine but getting old and we'd rather replace it before it fails. Even knowing this was no rush, by noon today he had installed a new Professional Series Rheem 50 gal gas unit and replaced the gas and water lines as well as a new metal pan. The workmanship was super clean as was the floor and surrounding area when he left. Jim's professional and a really nice guy to boot - very highly recommended!

If you are not calling Jim ( Water Heaters 4 Less ) i dont know what you are thinking! Jim went the extra mile to get to my house as fast as he could, right on time and showed up with everything and more that I needed to get my water heater replaced. He replaced everything with new parts and took the time to give me some pointers and tips on maintenance. He tested everything and made sure I had all the information that I needed. If you need your water heater replaced, do not look elsewhere, no need. Jim is your guy! Will be recommending him always! Thanks Jim!

I like supporting local Tempe-based businesses any opportunity I get, and Water Heaters 4 Less is no exception. After lasting 22+ years--my hot water heater finally died on me. When I did a search online--I stumbled across Water Heaters 4 Less and saw all the great reviews. It was a no brainer for me to go with this company. Jim did a top-notch job! I will definitely recommend him to my family, friends, and clients!

before (left) and after (right). Both are Rheem 50-gal gas water heaters. Works great!

It was a nightmare situation as a previous contractor broke it and left me abandoned and my main water supply wouldn't turn off so I could literally not sleep for 24 hours as I had to empty a bowl every 30 to 60 minutes (the supply valve is low so it would not accommodate anything larger underneath) or it would flood and ruin the new flooring that was just installed. It did ruin my face board that I had just had installed the day before. He kept blaming me saying by turning the giant nut I somehow ruined the pipe which I don't understand but I did everything to try and loosen the bolt and I found no special instructions or tool that specified one as a necessity to use on it in all my research or that I had done anything wrong, but it had been there for 30 years and was fused on tight and wouldn't budge even with two vise grips, and with the flooding happening I was desperate to get it removed so I thought that continuous commentary was strange. He also said I had to loosen that nut clockwise as if it were reversely threaded but was told the opposite multiple times in my research so again I'm very confused. If something had been critically missed I wish he would've at least told me. I didn't see how he removed it. He walked off with my channel locks which I informed him of immediately but luckily he changed his mind and returned them before I had to leave the next day after he first said he couldn't. I had been thru two days of hell from the previous contractor with 8 hours sleep over three nights. But he did the job and it took him no more than 15 to 20 minutes. There's a really big gash in my wall now where the valve is but I guess he had to do that to cut the pipe. I will have to find a wall cover plate or something to hide it.

Recently, one of the pipes connected to our water softener in the garage suddenly burst late at night, around 11:00 PM. A large amount of water sprayed everywhere and flooded the garage floor. We contacted two other plumbing companies we found online, but unfortunately, neither of them responded. Thankfully, we found American Plumbing & Rooter. When we called, Rich answered the phone right away and was incredibly helpful. He quickly scheduled an appointment for us, and a plumber arrived at 8:30 the next morning to replace the damaged water softener. We were very impressed with how efficient, friendly, and professional they were. The plumber was patient and took the time to explain why the pipe had burst and gave us very helpful recommendations to prevent similar problems in the future. Their follow-up service was also outstanding. A few days later, Sunday night, we were surprised to discover that we had no hot water. We texted Rich to ask what might have happened, and he responded very quickly. He explained that when the water softener pipe burst, the large amount of water spraying out may have extinguished the pilot light on the nearby water heater. He then patiently walked us through the steps to check it. Sure enough, the pilot light was out, exactly as he had explained. He also guided us step by step on how to relight it, and we were able to get our hot water back. We are extremely happy with the service we received from American Plumbing & Rooter. Their prompt response, professionalism, knowledge, and excellent follow-up service gave us great peace of mind. We highly recommend American Plumbing & Rooter. They are a reliable, trustworthy company that truly cares about their customers!

I don't know what chemicals etc. are in the water that was dumped but the fluid was dumped right next to fairly new plants and left an unsightly hole in the gravel. Further, I don't know what if any harm may be done to the new plants. I have ZERO tolerance for contractors who act disrespectfully towards the property where they're working. The place where the water was dumped was just a couple of feet from the driveway. If the water was dumped in the driveway, it would run down to the curb and follow the slope of the street as drainage and NOT risk any harm being done to our new plants. If we notice any adverse changes to our plants, there will be some follow-on activity with P&L. Just careless. I have to admit that I am skeptical of any company that provides "virtual quotes" without seeing the work site for themselves. But they requested a couple of pictures of old water heater installation to assess the job, provided a quote "sight unseen", and did the work with no extra cost added (always a concern with virtual quotes). They were the cheapest of the 3 bids that I got. No long-winded sales pitch that I should install a $5K tankless unit. The tech provided instructions on the annual flushing process. I'm satisfied. I'm hoping that at last I have a go-to plumber.

So I called, thinking drains need snaking, they were very slow. He and one of his employees came out - took the septic tank caps off. John threw rocks into the septic and said that my tank needs pumping...after it took a long time to make a splash. Then they went on the roof to send a camera into the pipes - decided that probably the drain pipes were bad. I listened to all Brandon had to say. Then he asked for $1,200 made out to himself and not his company. Little did I know that reputable plumbing companies do not ask for money when they show up to find out what the problem is, nor ask that checks be made out to themself. My daughter scolded me for that. Everyone shocked that I was even charged. And now I feel like a stupid old woman, like I should have known. So I guess Brandon needs the money more than I do even though that amount is more than a month Social Security for me. Later after they left, I had to go out and put the septic tank caps back on. John un-wound a garden hose completely off the reel. Why he had to do that beats me. I haven't the strength to put it back on. John left a shovel here. He can come get it. Oh and they don't bother to close the yard gates. If you own dogs be sure to check that after they're gone.
