I recently had work done with this company and they just billed me almost double of what the estimate was but was never informed that there was going to be an increase in price. Additionally they are required by California to be licensed by the Contractor Licensing Board but I could not find a licence. Do NOT use this company. They came out to our home to check for potential water intrusion in our carpet. Their sensor showed that the carpet was dry. The tech then put his sensor on the wall and claimed that there was water in the wall, even though there were NO water marks. The company then said that they could not give me a quote to dry out the wall, but needed me to put down a $1,000 to get started. We declined and asked for the invoice for the service call. We were then charged $550, even though the company's own brochure says that the charge was $400. I asked for a refund of $150 and this company is refusing to refund the difference. I believe this company uses unethical practices and fraudulently charges people. read more

SHADIEST COMPANY IN THE BUSINESS Called this company after we experienced a horrific leak after the rains. Company insisted their technician wait outside while we decided whether or not to move forward - first red flag. Was promised a guarantee that if mold were later discovered in the effected area they would remediate free of charge only to later be told this guarantee could not be put in writing- second red flag. Long story short, concluded for our purposes minimally invasive drying was a bad idea. Exercised a 3 day right to cancel and WDS continues to harass us with an invoice nearly half the cost of the job. Bright note is their onsite technician was very nice and seemed to be knowledgeable. I hope this company is giving him hazard pay for having to put up with them. There are about a million water restoration companies out there. Trust me, this is the one you DO NOT want to go with. I highly recommend 911 restoration. They were excellent. read more

Do not use this company. They are completely overpriced. My job was very Small. No larger than a bedroom closet. No standing water. The rep that was sent Was very nice and explained everything. He told me I would only be responsible for My $5,000 deductible even if my insurance Did not cover anything ! Period! I said Are you sure and he said Yes! We are quick And efficient! Well, my insurance did not Cover, 3 weeks went by and $17,000 later I am stuck with an unanticipated bill at 68 Years old. My insurance company called me and suggested that I do not pay this outrageous bill. It should have taken 3 to 5 Days to finish job at a cost of $5,000. Water Damage Service won't budge! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had a minor leak that required pumps/mats to dry the floors, which took a half day to install. They estimated the job would cost $3000 but the invoice came out to be over $7000! The insurance company (which they accepted) found unreasonable and excessive charges that should not have been included in the invoice but Water Damage Services did not remove them. I called other companies that offer similar services and the price was immensely lower than theirs. They also charged $2200 (in addition to my deductible) for the outstanding unreasonable charges to my credit card without notifying me!They harassed me with phone calls and e-mails every day for 3 months straight. Our kitchen/disposal drain pipe had broken inside the wall, so after the plumber had fixed the cause, I needed find a cleanup company. My insurance brought in a larger franchise company which reviewed the claim, but the end result was insurance would not cover the damages. Next I looked for a locally owned company and Water Damage Services fit the bill. They were fast and worked with me since they knew insurance would not cover the damages. BTW: I wish I found them first instead of that other company, they might have gotten me covered. Kyle of WDS was outstanding, very professional with a warm friendly demeanor that instilled confidence, and was very respectful. He taught us a lot about the technical aspects of the scope and cause of the problem. He educated us on how the machines worked and left us feeling encouraged that he was going to take care of everything and basically save our home from what could have been disastrous demolition damage. The mitigation work accomplished saving rugs, dry walls, and left only some floorboard molding to be replaced. I honestly cannot say enough great things about this company. They are professional, punctual and do incredible work from start to finish. My washing machine leaked upstairs causing water to flood out through the light fixtures on to the main floor below. Not only did they come out an hour after I called to assess the damage and provide an estimate, they also worked directly with my insurance company (Progressive) so that I could move the process along at a quicker pace. That's when we met Kyle, an all around nice person who actually cares about the customer and what they are going through. I was so very pleased with the quality customer service, quick response and the attention to detail of our tech, Kyle!!!!!! We had a pipe burst behind the wall and seep beneath our hardwood floors until it started coming up everywhere throughout our hallway and kitchen. An emergency plumber came up and said he'd contact a remediation company and shortly after Water Damage Services called me. They came right up and got dryers & fans running quickly. The woman on the other end of the phone, Cheri I think was her name, was super friendly & supportive at all times throughout the process. Kyle was respectful & informative. I felt certain I could trust him with my home keys as we needed to sleep elsewhere with the dryers running all night. He consistently came up to check on things & communicated with me. We had to keep running the machines for a couple of weeks in an attempt to save the hardwood floors... which was successful!! He went above and beyond to clean up when he was done. He connected me with a good contractor to replace baseboards and holes in the wall from the plumbing fixes. One little detail that impressed me was he let me know he saw a scratch on the floor likely from someone sliding the fridge carelessly. He didn't think he did it, but knew it was possible, called his office to report it and they called me to let me know. It was me I'm pretty sure who scratched the floor, but I appreciated very much that he pointed it out.
