I strongly recommend homeowners proceed with caution when dealing with Total Restoration Services. After a major leak in our townhouse, they were brought in to handle repairs. They left our downstairs bathroom in terrible shape, and despite Brittany assuring us it would be handled, we were later told the repairs were entirely our responsibility. The bigger issue came later: we found wet, broken drywall inside our upstairs HVAC air-handler closet, exactly on the wall where the leak occurred. This damage was completely missed by their team. The drywall was in perfect condition before the leak, and there is no other source of water in that location. When we informed them, Sean repeatedly promised that the drywall repair would be approved because of his relationship with the property manager. We patiently waited months. Today, he told us the request was denied -- and then denied ever promising he could get it approved. This entire experience has involved misleading assurances, inconsistent information, delays, and a complete lack of accountability. Instead of acknowledging obvious oversight, they refused responsibility at every step. I wish we hadn't trusted this company. Homeowners deserve honesty and professionalism, and we did not receive either. read more

I had a leak in a bathroom that went into a kitchen on a rental property. After beginning to remediate the problem, I called Total Restoration for a second opinion. They were prompt in responding to me and set up a meeting with their project manager Blake. Blake came out and looked at the entire scope of damage. He took his time answering all of my questions and made thoughtful, common sense recommendations on how to fix the problem that made perfect sense. I would not hesitate on using this company to do repairs. I highly recommend Total Restoration if you ever need help with water damage at your home. read more

I'm extremely hesitant to recommend this company to anyone. The majority of the negative impact caused by this company is more of a customer service issue than anything else but it also ties into the actual work performed on premises. Mother nature was our suspect and water penetration into the home was the crime. Heavy winds and heavy downpours brought water into the home (most likely through the roof) and down the inside of the walls. Local Restoration was the crime fighting team to the rescue. The first crew that came out to the home, didn't seem to know what they were doing and sort of rushed through the process to move onto the next call.... It wasn't a bad experience, but I wouldn't call it a favorable one either. They tracked dirt/mud onto our floors - it was wet outside, I can excuse the concept of it happening, but there wasn't even so much as an apology or attempt to clean it up... that part bothers me. They did a very haste and poor tenting job, a lot of slack in the plastic and poorly secured - but they did tent and they did leave a dehumidifier so - okay... they showed up and did 'something' ... can't complain too much since it was sort of an emergency. Not really, but sort of. A week or so later the next crew came out. The next crew that came out seemed to have it 'more together'. They re-tented the area and utilized proper mitigation techniques. They enlarged the mitigation area, the plastic tenting was more professional, it was tight, snug and included zippered access. They removed the culprit drywall, took moisture readings, verified their findings and gave an approximate timeline for when the next visit would be. Their behavior was very professional and they, literally, almost negated the entire negative impact caused by the first crew. Then, they didn't show up at the expected date but two days later we received a phone call, (late at night), from from a woman identifying herself as Brittany (and as a manager), indicating she wanted to send someone out the next day to remove the drywall and set up containment. I told her the drywall was already moved and containment was already set up. She then double-talked (with an extremely rude and arrogant tone) stating she needed someone to come out to our home to take mold readings and review the damage from the broken pipe(s). I told her that wasn't our scenario. I asked over and over again, what pipe? Her first response was the one from the water damage and of course I reiterated to her that wasn't our scenario so what pipe and she said the one in the roof.... she just went on and on and on, utilizing a rude and condescending tone, about how the law says they have to do it and other nonsense. When she was done with her unprofessional bickering, I restated to her: Our situation is not a mold mitigation, it's possible mold started to grow in the 12 hours it took to address the issue but not likely. We do not have leaking pipes. We just had a severe storm and the water started creeping through the walls from the roof on the night prior to our call. Someone was out the next morning, set up a tent and equipment, then another crew came out a week later, ripped out the drywall, set up a better tent along with a dehumidifier and air scrubber and someone was supposed to come out this past Monday, what happened that crew and why are you waiting until you had a cancellation before calling us for an urgent response? She got frustrated with me using logic against her and hung up the call indicating she was not going to deal with me, she would have someone from the shop call me the next day. No one ever called. That was before Thanksgiving. Now, here we are in December, another week has gone by, no phone calls, the room is still tented up, the equipment is still on site and no word from anyone... So yeah - I'm extremely hesitant to recommend this company to anyone. My rating is 2 stars because it hasn't been a horrible experience. But, it has been more negative than positive so I can't rate them average (3 stars) and they certainly have not gone above average (so I can't rate them more than that). They also don't deserve 1 star because there is as least one team of people in this company that care about their job and their customer. Get rid of Brittany guys, and strive for better field performance. read more

I am writing this review to warn other wildfire victims and future customers about our experience with Total Restoration. Following the Pacific Palisades fires, we hired them for home remediation based on promises of thorough cleaning. Unfortunately, they grossly overcharged us for minimal work and lied about the services they would provide. Specifically, they failed to clean significant portions of our home, leaving ash and soot behind even in visible areas. The work that was performed was shoddy and unprofessional, not what we were led to believe was a professional remediation. They were unresponsive and demonstrated a complete lack of accountability when we raised concerns about the work and the exorbitant bill. This company preys on people during their most vulnerable time. Avoid at all costs. read more

Just completed a repair/restoration project from water damage caused by a slab leak. From the dry-out set-up (put in motion by Chris and Brittany) to the finished drywall/paint/flooring the quality was excellent and all staff were patient with my many questions and in explaining the process. Sean helped in communicating with my insurance co. and Jeff oversaw the repairs, including help with an issue with the floor. Even helped me moveout/back for 3 weeks - Robert and Braedon were awesome and careful with my things. So far, everyone I have dealt with at Total Restoration have been great to work with. Brittany came out 1st day & set up fans. Alex came another day & did drywall. He was neat, polite and did a good job. It was nice that Alex was a good worker, because the plumbers from other company, (Becks) were messy and very disruptive. I let member of our HOA board know how much I liked Total Restoration so our complex can use them in the future. I used to work for a Farmers Insurance agent - I wish had know about Total Restoration back then. Total is far superior to other companies we had to use (Servepro). read more

I called Total Restoration in the beginning of the week. I spoke with someone who said they will get someone to come out to check on the problem that day. 2 days later no call back and no show. Called again and the owner Chris advised someone will come out and apologized. The employee came checked out the issue and advised the owner will call and advise the next plan of action to handle the problem. That was on Wednesday now it's Friday and still no call back after even leaving several messages. If this is how this company does business even before the start of a project. RUN! We highly recommend Total Restoration for restoring your damaged home. We recently experienced serious water damage to our home. Total Restoration did a quality job restoring our kitchen, den, laundry room and downstairs powder room. Their team members are professional, friendly and don't waste time getting the job done. We liked that a project manager was assigned to our home to check on the work being done, answer any questions we had, and was readily available.
