TL;DR 6 weeks, multiple visits, and then abandoned on a bid for our project. We requested a quote from Eagle Pride Constructions on our kitchen remodel project. The team was initially quick to respond and came out to review the scope of our project and asked good questions to understand our goals and scope of the work. They appeared to have good ideas and options to get creative with solutions for what we wanted to achieve with the project. After the first meeting we didn't hear back on a quote, and after following up they said they needed more details to prepare a proper quote so we scheduled more time. They missed the second appointment so we rescheduled and got them back through for a second look. After walking them through the project scope again and answering some new follow up questions we were optimistic we'd be able to move to the next phase. We weren't hearing back from them so after a couple weeks, we followed up with their office and they let us know that they're still working on a quote and would have it by end of day. One week later still no quote. Finally I got a call from Eagle pride telling me that they've decided they don't wanna work on our project citing that they aren't able to get one of their subcontractors available to quote a key part of the project. Throughout the process, we've been flexible on timelines, patient throughout the missed appointments and poor communication. We understand that contractors are busy and they can't always bid on a project, but it would have been nice to know that before waiting 6 weeks. We can't speak to the quality of the work that Eagle pride does, but l see these missed appointments, the slow communication, and abandoning the project entirely after dragging us along as red flags. I hope others have an easier time working with them, but felt compelled to share my experience. read more

Gary, Jesse, Chris and Matt have done a phenomenal job! Their subcontractors are fantastic as well, clean and on the spot. We completely remodeled our home in Camarillo, still underway, looks beautiful, everything we wanted, and more. Eight years later, we've got crack ceilings, flooring, coming up, carpet not doing good either. My granite counters where there's no water is discolored and they said it's water damage but there's no water damage around the sink where the water is all the time. The cupboards in the kitchen are already peeling and cracking and not closing properly. I complained about a lot of this early on but they wouldn't do anything about it so now I'm just letting people know that they don't always do the proper work that they say they're gonna do or the quality of work they say they're going to do. I don't like giving bad reviews, butwe've got so much stuff going on now that I'm gonna have to get the house redone. read more

I can't say enough to give EPC the credit they deserve. From the first phone call to the end of the kitchen and floor renovation, approximately 6 weeks total. Gary went into the attic and identified the load bearing and supporting walls. He clearly explained to me the options available at my budget range. Of course I went and got other quotes from 3 other contractors, but none of the others went up to the attic to assess the possibilities like Gary did. Price of the job was competitive and in line with the other contractors. I got the best gut feeling from EPC especially since they are from the city of Ventura and they seemed genuinely enthusiastic about taking on this job. I had no real design plan at all. Craig came in, he has so many great design ideas I never even thought of. Jesse works miracles, he got my stove working which I purchased from Reid's. That store never came back like they promised. Thank goodness for Jesse. Sometimes I would get nervous about something and send texts at 3 am, Candy would reach out to me & so would Gary and put me at ease. They are so patient and will hold your hand throughout the whole process. I couldn't be more happy the way my kitchen and flooring turned out. Gary and his team were AMAZING! From inception to finish, they were reliable, thorough, and punctual (as much as they could of course: some delays were due to permits and inspector visits) with the construction of my ADU. Here is 5 things are really, really appreciated about them: 1. They were highly organized: Candy the office manager set out a day-by-day schedule letting me know what was going to happen during the week on my project. 2. They have well defined roles: I always knew who to contact for each aspect of the job. 3. They were highly communicative: Each individual involved in the process provided me with their cell number and I could call or text and expect a same day response. If I didn't hear, they would make sure that someone else on the team would get back to me. 4. Always sought out excellence: They take great pride in their work. The work performed exceeded my expectations. 5. They went above and beyond at working with me and my needs. Gary id definitely a man of integrity with a good sense of humor. You shouldn't even get 1 star. I called for an estimate, and had to cancel because my husband was in the hospital getting a liver and kidney transplant. When I called to reschedule, I got no response. I called again and again. The guy finally called me back, and said he would come by and talk to me about what I could and couldn't get done. But then, he never called back and didn't come by. I live in a manufactured home, maybe he thought I couldn't afford him. Guess what douche bag, I just spent $20,000.00 painting and putting in a new yard. I really hope people treat you the way you have treated me. read more

We just finished a master bathroom remodel. It took longer than expected, but some were our fault, and it never adversely affected the project. The quality of the work by both EPCs employees and subs was very good and the only real issue we had, concerning the shower tile, was handled to our satisfaction. My only complaint with EPC was its failure/refusal to provide written change orders for our approval BEFORE the additional work was commenced and the surprise that resulted from the charges for that additional work. Written change orders are required by the law and it should not be the consumers responsibility to insist that they be provided. read more

If you are looking for a professional, personable, dependable, and reasonably priced LOCAL contractor, then EPC is it! We had been looking for someone to remodel our choppy 1962 pink bathroom when a chance encounter at a local sushi restaurant led us Gary(owner) and Jill(office manager). Within a week we had a detailed plan for each phase of the project payment schedule, and by the way, the final payment is not due until all work is completed! During the next 6 weeks demolition and construction were completed on time and seamlessly. Jesse, the project manager coordinated all aspects of the job from demolition ,construction , to the final details, using local vendors,sub contractors, and supplies. The quality and craftsmanship of the work completed by Josh, Nick, Ray,and the electricians and plumbers is worth at least 20 stars! An additional bonus was their friendly, easy going personalities from the day we met thru completion. We love our new spa like shower and bathroom , but actually miss them too! We love them and have had lots of experience with construction. They did a complete remodel job of our condo which included our kitchen, both master and hall bathrooms, and the laundry area.They also helped us to put together our furniture and repainted a wall in order to match our new light fixture. The end results were outstanding, with the quality of attention given to every detail. Their work made this extensive process well worth the effort and price . Gary is very creative and came up with a great design both with our kitchen cabinets & redesigning the look of our staircase. Very satisfied with the recently completed remodel of my bathroom by Eagle Pride Construction! The work included the demo and replacement of the fiberglass shower surround with tile, installation of a new custom glass shower door, new shower head and plumbing, ceiling fan, painting the existing vanity and installing a new countertop, sink and faucet. The job estimate was fair and reasonable, especially given the quality of the work performed. Gary was friendly and accommodating, and worked with me throughout the process on appropriate design and selection of materials. This is a review of just the bidding process as I did not end up hiring Eagle Pride. I have two rental homes that had sustained some damage from neglect, age and the winter rain storms. I felt rather desperate to get the work done as we had to open up drywall in both units and felt tenants had been inconvenienced enough. I first saw Gary's information on Nextdoor and checked Yelp reviews which were excellent. I called him and he agreed to meet right away. We met at first house where he did a walk through. The second house was a ten minute drive from the first. He said he and his partner had worked through the numbers on the drive over and gave me a verbal bid of $xx,xxx. We then did a walk through of second house. I was interested in hiring him but told him I needed the bids in writing. No problem but he charges $150 per written bid but would give me a break and give me two written bids for $150 instead of $300. I do realize that bids take some time and thought and even though I had never been asked to pay for a bid, I did give him the go ahead. We met five days later to go over the bids. I was taken aback when the bids that he had prepared--and charged me a fair amount of money--were just the same single figure that he had put together on the 10 minute drive without any breakdown. When I questioned this practice I was told that what most people want is just the bottom line cost. WHY WOULD I PAY TO GET A BID THAT I ALREADY HAD??? I paid him but felt taken advantage of and insisted that the bids have added detail. He did finally give me bids that broke the jobs into subcontractors but I never saw what he was charging for material and labor. Gary's bids were significantly higher than two other contractors that gave me bids AND NO ONE ELSE ASKED ME TO PAY FOR THEIR BIDS. read more
