Very happy with the work Sean did to replace the track rail on our Milgard sliding patio door. He was friendly, professional, and able to fix the problem without having to remove our door from the frame. The $470 price was reasonable, compared to the cost of replacing the door. I would definitely hire Sean again for any work on our doors. read more

Sean did a great job resetting and sealing my exterior door. He was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly explained what needed to be done. The draft was significantly reduced, and he even came back the next morning to take care of a small issue under the sill at no charge. Very responsive and easy to work with. I'd definitely recommend him. read more

On a scale of 1-5, these folks are an 11. I had an emergency: My front door and the door frame were so badly damaged that I could not close nor lock my front door. I called the phone number on their website, left a message and was in the process of filling out their contact form when the owner, Paul, called me. That fast! He was even out of town. He called his son, Sean, who called me within minutes. He had a cancellation and was actually at my home in about 20 minutes. I need a new door, but he fixed the door frame, the door itself and installed my new deadbolt. The price was less than I expected, the work impeccable. He measured and has ordered my new door. Most importantly, I feel so safe. The fact that they understood my situation is priceless. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

These guys are great. Saved me replacing old doors for at least 10 times the cost. Old sticky slider that barely slid, crafty French doors to my back patio and a troublesome garage door that I fought for years. New hardware, rollers, insulation and some adjustments and I saved a ton of money and have "new" old doors. Had an issue with hardware on the Frenchie but they came right back out with new stuff at no cost and we couldn't be happier! read more

We had Washington Door Service repair and adjust a number of exterior and interior doors. The doors had a variety of issues and required shims, hinge adjustments, strike plate adjustments, and weather stripping modifications. These guys were outstanding - they were professional, extremely competent, and quick. I recommend them without hesitation and we'll use them again for similar needs without hesitation. read more

Paul and Sean did phenomenal work! We couldn't be happier with how the barn door turned out. Great duo super easy to work with and coordinate on the project. read more

Spoke with Paul over the phone and not even 30 minutes later, Sean had contacted me informing me that he was on the way. Upon arrival, Sean was very professional and got straight to work. He expelled any doubt I had and went beyond what was asked. I can't thank Sean enough for all the hard work he's done for our family! Highly recommend this company if you want the job done efficiently and correctly the 1st time! read more

I would highly recommend this company. Paul not only fixed my slider but he fixed another door problem also. Their rates were reasonable

These guys are really good. Sean is in the top 2% of contractors I've ever used. He replaced a door frame that had been incorrectly installed by another contractor so was leaking. Sean was great to interact with - nice guy, and he really works hard to make the customer happy. His workmanship was top quality. He's an expert at everything related to doors, which means he's not going to mess it up (like my prior contractor did). He used top quality materials (without me asking) like composite frame, heavy duty hinges, actual wood instead of MDF. He was super efficient: as soon as I signed the contract, he ordered the materials; he came out a few days after he received the materials, and he did the work very efficiently. Overall it was a very smooth process. I wish all contractors were like this read more

I've hired Washington Door Service twice. They replaced my back door a couple years ago, and replaced my front door today. They do top-notch work at a fair price, and I couldn't be happier with the results. read more

Paul did amazing with our doors! We are so happy with them. He was able to put doors in where they didn't exist before, and match it perfectly to the look of our house. Sean and Paul were easy to work with and did a great job with two doors, a replacement entry and a building out a new doorway. They were efficient and very professional. Highly recommend. read more

I cannot tell you how impressed with Washington Door Service I am. I have a rental home in Snoqualmie and live in Texas, that is always a problem when you have an issue and do not know the right person for the job. I found Washington Door Service on the BBB site after struggling to find a door repair company that focused on doors other than garage doors. I called and spoke with Lloyd while he was driving and he suggested that I complete a form on their website. Less than 10 minutes after completing that form Matt called and said that he w2as on his way south from North Seattle and could be in Snoqualmie within 45 minutes. Long story not so long, Matt arrived fixed my door and left my tenant happy and satisfied with the work and result. Thanks Lloyd and Matt, I appreciate your work and communication! read more

A shout-out to Sean. He exceeded my expectations, both in the quality of his workmanship and in his practical suggestions. First, there was the quality of his work repairing a "stuck" door, adding a storm door, and installing a door "roller screen." But I was even more impressed with his suggestions about other doors in the house. Some examples: when I asked him to install french doors to replace a west, weather-facing sliding door, he suggested keeping the sliding door, because it leaked less than french doors. Second, when I asked about installing french doors to an east-facing sliding door, he said it could be done but then noted that most people keep half such doors secured 99% of the time! Third, when I asked him to repair the screens to these doors, he suggested replacing the frame, too, because it was more cost effective and longer lasting. There's something about working with a craftsperson who is so honest that he persuades you to spend less money. I would recommend Washington Door Service any day. I expect to be using them again soon. read more

WOW - what great service from this family owned small business, just outstanding! Called the shop one day, next day they came out to our Maple Valley home and fixed a side door that needed new lock and some major TLC, works perfectly now. While here replaced tattered weather stripping on our backdoor and adjustments to the sticky front door deadbolt. Saved the day / doors - Thank You So Much!! read more

Paul is diligent, efficient, nice to talk to and just awesome! I got a light weight "security door" installed today. It really is a "niche" in the market where it's a little sturdier than the storm doors and less bullet proof than the bank security doors. Its sole purpose is a psychological barrier to the proverbs and creeps. I feel like his business is going to blossom with this time and day :) read more

Our inside doors have been driving us nuts - not hanging plumb and difficult to close. Paul and his son Sean took care of us quickly and completely and for a fair price. I'm glad we found them because we will be using their service again I'm sure! read more

I cannot recommend them enough. As first-time home buyers, we are still learning about working with vendors and getting services done. We needed 5 interior doors replaced. Sean was amazing to work with, he responded quickly to our request, came and gave us a quote, gave us options, and didn't push us to get things done that weren't necessary. We got them installed quicker than we were originally told and Sean did it quickly and even cleaned up after himself. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and if we ever need to replace our other doors we know who we would call! read more

Worked with Sean, as we needed some work done; he came out right away and gave us a quote - and was able to schedule us right in. The work was done really well, like new, and he just knows a TON about doors, the options, etc. and is friendly and patient in explaining our questions! Will definitely use again! read more

I called numerous locksmiths to repair a broken lock on our French Double Doors and no one would touch it. Paul said he'd give it a try, found the parts and made the repair. They are now my locksmith of choice! read more

I had been having problems with my front door. It was sticking, and it was difficult to throw the deadbolt. Based on the reviews here, when I reached out to Washington Door Services, I expected to meet an experienced craftsman. Instead, I feel I got the services of a general handyman. Sean seemed intimidated by the quality of my front door (and it is a gorgeous craftsman style door). He immediately set to work without much explanation. I guess I assumed he knew what to do. He quickly drilled out larger holes on the top and bottom hinge plates to accomodate two longer screws. He shaved down a metal cross brace where the deadbolt inserts into the doorframe. He also tried shimming the upper and lower hinges, and sprayed WD40 on the wood plate at the base of the door. After various attempts, he noted that his attempted shimming was potentially making things worse. I agreed, and he took out the shims. Sean didn't have screws that matched the burnished brass finish of the existing hardware. He didn't ask me if I wanted to get screws that matched the existing hardware and that might have been used without drilling out the hinge plate to create larger holes that clearly didn't match the neatly machined holes in the existing hinge. He used a black sharpie to cover up the bright stainless steel finish of the hardware he did have. The door still stuck, and Sean told me that in his view it wasn't significant and that it would likely improve with drier conditions. I thought the deadbolt issue had been fixed as I could throw the deadbolt from the inside. He also installed a bottom seal on a door to a detached exterior office. After less than an hour and receiving $297 he left...ugggghhh... Unrelated to the work, Sean showed up with something fashioned out of stretch fabric as a face mask. With omicron raging, service people should be wearing N95s. After Sean left, I discovered that I still had to pull up on the doorknob to engage the deadbolt with my key when locking the door from the outside. I called WA Door Services and nobody got back to me. Frustrated, I reached out to Maple Leaf Locksmith, a company who'd provided me with great service in the past. Bjorn came out, and spent a short period of time examining the door from the inside, focusing on the nature of the gaps around the door. In 10 minutes Bjorn had done what Sean couldn't. By installing a shim on the lower hinge, Bjorn lifted the outside lower corner of the door and eliminated all sticking. The deadbolt functioned smoothly, whether engaged from the inside or outside. Bjorn explained his thought processes to me as he went. For example, he noted that care needed to be taken when inserting the long screw in the lower hinge, as over tightening could have pulled the lower, outer corner of the door downward, exacerbating sticking. Bjorn charged me $100. I emailed Paul, the owner of the company, describing my experience. Paul called me back and profusely apologized, noting that he felt his company was 5 star caliber. I asked Paul to reimburse me for the additional $100 I'd had to spend to remedy my problem. Paul sent me the money. I appreciated that he was willing to partially offset the shortcomings in Sean's performance. read more

Our door needed a fix and they were able to fix it, but at an unexpected price. One star for the fact that they fixed it and other stars deducted because they charged us more than $500 for one hour of labor and materials (they charged us $130 for two rollers even though Home Depot sells them for less than $10 each). This was significantly more than the quote they gave us when we chose to hire them. They also told us materials was included in the quote but when we paid, they told us materials were extra and charged us almost $250 of materials cost. They price gouge after they fix it and I would strongly not recommend them. read more

I had the most excellent experience with Lloyd and Washington Door Service. First of all, I put the project out to bid. Lloyd responded quickly and with an adequate price. The other companies took weeks to get back to me - one over a month - and their prices were not acceptable. Not only is Lloyd friendly, he's responsive, reliable, and does excellent work. The doors transformed our building and we are delighted! read more

I have never left a Yelp review before, but after having these guys out to fix the doors on our new home, I felt compelled to give them an outstanding review. We were referred by a friend and contacted them through their website. They called the next day, and then the following day they came out. At first we wanted them to only fix 4 doors (sliding glass door and 3 doors that wouldn't latch), and provide a quote for two new doors. They ended up fixing 7 doors (my husband kept texting me to ask them to to one more, then one more, etc.) and installing a new smart lock on our front door. They were fast, kind, courteous, and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs similar work done on their home or business. read more

I would recommend using Washington Door Service. They were pros from start to finish. Very communicative and reasonably priced and you don't always get that with some companies. I tried getting quotes from other door places and would get no response or other BS. Not with Washington Door Service. Lloyd, Matt and Sean are excellent at what they do! Very efficient, professional and friendly. I highly recommend their services!

We highly recommended Washington Door Service. Our pocket door was broken and I thought we were looking at a big expense to fix. Lloyd provided an email estimate based on some pictures I sent. He stopped by to verify everything and found the fix wasn't as involved as I thought and fixed the door right there. Of course, not every situation will end up being an easy fix but Lloyd is an honest professional who didn't overcharge me. Very honest, very competent, very professional. Would absolutely work with again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a door professional. read more

I have to rave a little bit here about Matt and Washington Door Service. We have a 100+ year old Craftsman house in Seattle and two of the doors have been worrisome from both a security perspective and from a draftiness perspective. Our other doors were fine, but with worsening crime in North Seattle, I wanted to upgrade the locks on them. Matt came out and assessed everything in a timely manner. From the minute I first encountered him, it was clear that he had a real passion about carpentry, doors, and trying to solve the problems for the customer. He recommended a variety of solutions and worked with us as we nailed down the proposal. One of the challenges that he took on was that our house was recently repainted - inside and out - and he was able to arrange to have the new doors pre-painted to match. His recommendations on locking hardware were spot-on, and the quality of the workmanship was among the best I've ever seen. He was in in the morning - exactly on time - and done by the end of the day with nary a mess to meet the eye. He was even available by cell phone to help us figure out where to get new keys made for the specialty locks. And the repair job he did on the antique hardware on one of our locks was fantastic. Hopefully we'll not need his services again, but certainly if I ever needed anything to do with doors in the future, he'd be my first call without a moment's hesitation. read more

I had a front door installed several years ago and it wasn't installed correctly. Lloyd was the first person who came out and said he could repair it in lieu of replacing it, everyone to that point wanted to replace it. He came out as planned for the estimate and gave that to me on the spot, we scheduled a date for repair and he came right on time worked diligently until it was finished, cleaned up an MAN OH MAN the door is awesome now!!! It was drafty, you could see light and it leaked at the bottom HE FIXED ALL OF THAT! Cost was really minimal. I would recommend Lloyd to anyone, very honest and personabe. read more

Washington Door Service was fantastic! After calling over half a dozen contractors, Lloyd responded promptly, had a quote out to me in minutes and had me on the schedule for just two days later. Matt was probably one of the best service contractors I have ever worked with. I can't get over how pleased I am with the service we received from Washington Door. Every individual I spoke with was professional, friendly, and knowledgable. They were prompt in getting me an estimate and they were able to do an excellent installation the next day. After attempting to install a pre-hung exterior door ourselves (hours of attempting!) and still not able to get it square, I was expecting to go through hoops to get someone to install the door correctly. The house was built in 1950's and the door we purchased we realized needed some customization to get it to fit. Matt took care of everything - installation, insulating, exterior moulding, and even fixing our strike plate - within a few hours. He also gave me tips and suggestions for care and paint touch-ups when needed. The price was definitely fair, a lot less than I was expecting to pay given the age of the house and our brick exterior. I highly recommend this company. read more

It was one of those things I kept putting off after saying each time I opened the heavy patio door, "I need to get this &/:(#€# thing fixed." Finally, when it got so bad it took a concerted effort to brute-force open the door despite the rollers non-cooperation, I called a glass installer to ask if they did this kind of work. When they said, "No," I asked if they could recommend someone who could replace the rollers and they gave me Washington Door Service's phone number. I called and spoke to Lloyd Evans who, after I explained the problem, said he could come out the next week. Lloyd came this morning at the agreed time and I found him very personable and very knowledgable. He fixed the rollers and the minor damage I had caused by delaying the work, in short order, and the door opens and closes almost effortlessly. And his price was very reasonable. It makes me wonder why I ever put the job off. read more
