Wasabi is located within Tyson's mall on the first floor. It has sushi that is premade and is delicious for something quick! Service is good and you can sit at the little belt or at a booth.

We were seated right away by friendly staff. I can say this place was very clean as you can see them continuously cleaning. Service is 10/10 as all staff were attentive, not in an annoying way where you can't enjoy yourself. Concept of a rotating sushi bar was neat to see in person. Unfortunately, you could compare this sushi to grocery store sushi. Not flavorful. Even the most basic rolls like the shrimp tempura roll were underwhelming. Weird concepts like peanut butter jelly rolls were up for grabs too... You could go for the convenience and the experience. But I would not go here for any special events.

Just my opinion I think you have to rank the restaurant regarding where it's located in the purpose of serving. This is a small version of the sushi places that you normally would frequent. The staff is friendly. The Sushi a conveyor belt was kind of a cool idea. Things are covered so that it protects the Health version of the sushi that's being served. The staff made this a decent experience. The sushi wasn't terrible and the staff continually was cleaning. Recognize that the restaurant will shut down at 7 o'clock on a Sunday evening.

Was at the mall and started feeling hungry, so I finally decided to check out that sushi spot I always walk past and honestly? Glad I did. Service was on point, super friendly and fast. The setup is cool: you sit at a table while sushi rolls by you on a conveyor belt. You just grab what looks good, no waiting around. Each plate is color-coded by price, which makes it easy to keep track (or not, if you're feeling adventurous). I was starving so I didn't even catch all the names of what I tried but every plate I grabbed was solid. Super fresh, tasty, and surprisingly good for showing up around 8pm when you'd expect things to slow down (they close at 9:30pm). Price-wise? Affordable and worth it, especially for the experience. Definitely recommend if you're craving a quick sushi break or just want a fun dinner spot at the mall.

Great good, it wasn't super fresh though. The waiter was nice, and there were lots of options for food. It was also fairly clean.

It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but not bad for a spot in the mall and the novelty of the revolving sushi concept is worth a visit. I've been to a couple different revolving sushi places and I will say I appreciate that Wasabi kept their belt well stocked and fresh - there was always something to choose from and there were new items each time the belt made it back around Most of the plates were the more expensive $6.50 red ones but they had 4-5 pcs on them so not too bad. I just wish they had more of the smaller plates so I could've tried more things.

12/13/24 The place is unique. The ambience is pleasing. The food is delicious. The prices should be right...but it isn't. The general manager has known about this error, and has failed to do anything about it since September 2024...when we discovered this error. The problem has been fixed again by my server, but if you don't look at the prices, let alone the color of the plates, you might find yourself being upcharged for a price that says differently on the menu. So as Ra's Al Ghul once said "mind your surroundings." I have checked with this place three different times now and this place is looking at three strikes...this could get dangerous. "Money's the motivation, money's the conversation"...it certainly was tonight and the last two times as well. It will for other customers too. You shouldn't play with your customers like that cause they might start passing you. Your servers obviously have dealt with these mistakes and they don't like looking like fools. They are not to be played with and neither are your customers. So, if everything rides on tonight, This moment, you didn't own it. Please for the love your business, customers and staff UPDATE YOUR MENUS.

Was hanging out with some friends at the mall and they saw the revolving sushi below and wanted to check it out. I've been here before and they hadn't so they wanted to try this out! We were seated at a bar like area on the side. Our server was truly nice. We were about to start eating and starting to pick items from the revolving food coming by... suddenly a moth appeared on our table. We were surprised and let the server know. He immediately removed it. But then when we were choosing our items again and I was taking photos admiring the food, I unfortunately saw a bug moving inside the seaweed. We lost our appetite and decided. At that point we all decided not to eat here.

    Okay...I'm full.

It sushi on a conveyor belt. If you think it's going to be the best sushi you've ever eaten then you clearly fail to understand the concept of conveyor belt delivery. Is it okay? Sure. The rice was good and the rolls were evenly cut. The blue crab rolls were the best but you might want to steer clear of the seared salmon. This is a great place if you're famished and in a hurry because the food is flying by fast and furious which is the point of their delivery mechanism. If it looked like there was a seat open, I'd come back.

The sushi was really good, they had a great variety of food. The custard bao? So good. Tasted like a soft donut. The staff was helpful at explaining how the process works. My mom and I went there for Mother's Day and had a great time.

Wasabi is an interesting and unique place, where is basically a pick and eat sushi spot on a conveyer belt. It wasn't the best sushi in the world but it was tasty nonetheless. It's in the middle of Tyson's mall so I would say it's more of a fish tank kind of ambiance and you're the fish haha. The service for water refills and drink refills were also on point so no complaints there.

One of my fave kind of place - sushi go rounds. First discovered on my Japan forays. Happy to find in DC metro area. Promptly greeted, sat and approached. Was explained the process quickly and then just started pulling plates. Some rolls, some nigiri. Definitely dessert. I had the green tea cheesecake to top it off. A definite good decision!when in DC metro, stop in. Legit.

I then order 1 Mochi piece. I find it a bit strange that a singular piece is 5 dollars but that's besides the point. The same server opens the refrigerator and pulls out the Mochi with his Bare Hands that I witnessed him use to eat his food and wipe his face before I walked into that door. I actually live in Japan and eat mochi regularly. There was nothing special about that Mochi in taste being 5 dollars. The entire strip where this is located is amazing, every establishment treats neighboring staff kindly, EXCEPT for this place. I've been to other Kusshi's and this is by far my least favorite one. I don't like to give out low reviews as this is my first ever one. But this is just improper etiquette.

FOOD: The menu is pretty straightforward. You order your entrée, and you can get a single protein or a combination of proteins. Choices include chicken, beef, tofu, shrimp, or salmon. Everything comes with an appetizer choice of mushrooms or chicken livers, and then you have a choice of steamed white rice or fried rice, and your meal is also accompanied by a miso soup and a salad with a ginger dressing. You are also given two different sauces to dip your food in, should you so desire: one is a ginger sauce, and the other is a special sauce - that's what they call it - and I'm not really sure what's in it, but it's kind of like an Asian inspired thousand island sauce is the best way to describe it. SERVICE: Our server, Rose, was the bees' knees!!! Our chef was great too & I don't know his name, but he was a little less lively than others, but I think that's because we were a bunch of adults only lol. AMBIANCE: All in all, everything was great, and our party enjoyed their meals. I personally thought everything kind of tasted the same. Not a place I would frequent, and it is kind of expensive, but you do get a lot for what you pay for, and it is definitely a fun place to go to for a celebratory occasion. Keep in mind the tables are in a U shape, so it's really hard to be present with your entire party, and whatever side you're on, you feel like you're on your own little island, which is a little disappointing for a birthday celebration, but we still had fun and made it work the best we could. The restaurant was clean, but you felt like you're going back in time. The ambience was casual yet very lively and fun. 3/1/26

For the uninitiated, abura soba is a brothless ramen where the magic happens at the bottom of the bowl. A savory aromatic oil and tare base sit beneath springy, chewy noodles, topped with a silky poached egg and classic ramen accoutrements. The key is to mix thoroughly -- really commit -- until the egg emulsifies with the oil and sauce, coating every strand in glossy, umami-packed richness. The texture is the standout. The noodles have a satisfying chew that holds up against the weight of the oil without becoming heavy. It's indulgent but not cloying. The customization element elevates the experience: a drizzle of chili oil adds warmth and depth, while a splash of vinegar cuts through the richness with bright acidity. Dial it in to your preference and the bowl transforms in real time. If you're a fan of Chinese scallion oil noodles or Korean jajangmyeon, you'll recognize the comfort-food DNA here -- but abura soba feels more refined and layered. The flavor is concentrated, savory, and deeply satisfying without relying on broth. This is the kind of spot that knows exactly what it is and executes with confidence. A refreshing change from the ramen norm and absolutely worth the visit. Bonus points for the casual kid friendly atmosphere and also offering traditional soup ramen and donburi for less adventurous dining companions.

The wait staff was friendly and kind and sent us to our table and we were attended to pretty quickly. The service was pretty good with our waters topped off and questions answered! Service 4/5! Yakitori platter: The pork belly was pretty salty and a little bit tough, my least favorite of the platter. Seasoning was okay. The problem, I think, that it was over a marinated which made it super salty, it wasn't balanced. I would recommend adding something to balance out the saltines and not marinate it for so long. 2/5 The steak was just okay, it was pretty tough and gristly, not my favorite either, the seasoning and marinade were decent but couldn't save the toughness. Overall, 2/5 Chicken meatball, chicken thigh, chicken breast were all great! Good marinade and moist and juicy! They were the most enjoyable! 4/5 for all of them! The mushrooms wrapped in bacon was interesting, not my thing but interesting, not horrible but not good? I'd probably pass on it next time. 1/5 Overall, disappointed with the steak and pork belly and wouldn't spend your money on them, while chicken was good, dunno if you'd go out of the way to order it if that makes sense. Gyoza: meh, not much there with flavor or taste, not memorable at all, just mid. 2.5/5 SUSHI: Hamachi and scallion Temaki, this is served open like a "taco style" I found this to be enjoyable! The yellowtail was marinated with a subtile flavor that added to the flavor! 3.5/5 Med fatty tuna, chutoro, nigiri was great with flavor and tenderness but my only problem was that there was too mush membrane in the cut where it's hard to chew and where you need to spit it out. Just wish that wasn't there tbh, 3.5/5 The salmon and tuna flight were all great! If I were to nitpick, the rice seasoning was a bit too much, taking away from the flavor of the salmon and tuna. But overall it was enjoyable, 3.8/5 Overall, the food was good, but it is very expensive for what you get, nothing stood out to be amazing that would set this place over the many sushi places in the area. Service is good and ambiance is very pleasant just not sure if it's completely worth it Might go back but with the many options there it's hard to decide.

Sorry for the late post. I was really excited when my husband surprised me with a birthday dinner…read morereservation at Churasko last Saturday 3/28, but I'll admit I was a little nervous after seeing some mixed reviews on Yelp. Thankfully, our experience turned out to be absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, the host was warm, welcoming, and very patient as we figured out which dining option we wanted. She clearly explained the different experiences--from the churrasco and Wagyu offerings to the sushi and small plates--and gave us time to look over the menu without any pressure. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with great ambiance and music that really set the tone for a special night. My husband chose the Platinum Tier dining experience for my special occasion and it was worth it. Our server, Mike, truly made the entire evening unforgettable. From start to finish, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He took the time to explain each dish, offered great recommendations, and made sure we were always taken care of. We started with Brazilian cheese bread, which was just okay, but the trio of flavored butters (gochujang, black sesame, and regular) was unique and delicious. Then came the Fire & Ice seafood tower, which was not only beautifully presented but also came with a dramatic tableside display. The grilled shrimp and oysters Rockefeller were excellent, and the chilled oysters and sashimi skewers were fresh and flavorful. The lotus chips on the side were also a nice touch. One dish that didn't quite hit for me was the lobster tempura--it was slightly salty and it was a bit soggy when I expected it to be crisp. However, the lobster bisque more than made up for it. It was hands down one of the best I've ever had--the broth was light but yet very rich and flavorful, perfectly executed!!! We were also served a shrimp egg custard that was interesting and enjoyable, though we were already starting to get full at that point! Then came the highlight: the unlimited premium meats. Everything from the A5 Japanese Wagyu to the lamb chops was delicious and high quality. The bone marrow pasta and Wagyu fried rice were standout favorites for us as well. The presentation throughout the entire meal was stunning--every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and visually beautiful. What truly made the night special, though, was Mike. He went above and beyond to make my birthday feel celebrated. He surprised me with all three desserts, a complimentary champagne toast, sparkles candles, and even two beautiful take-home gifts (a set of Japanese-style bowls like the ones used for the lobster bisque, with the restaurant's name on them). That level of thoughtfulness meant so much to us. We had so much food that we couldn't finish everything, and Mike kindly allowed us to pack up what we couldn't finished to take home. Overall, this was an incredible experience with outstanding service. Honestly, it was far better than when my husband took me to Hell's Kitchen a few years ago--we spent just as much there but received nowhere near the level of service or even a simple birthday acknowledgment. Highly recommend Churasko, and if you can, ask for Mike--he will take amazing care of you!

Shoutout to Kevin for the wonderful service and the restaurant itself is gorgeous, and honestly,…read morethe food looks stunning when it hits the table. It's very aesthetic and perfect for photos, but unfortunately, the taste was not on par. I got the "Silver Experience" which was $99 a person. Given all the options, it sounds like it would have been a sweet deal. However, the sushi felt like it had been sitting out (stale rice, mushy fish), and the meats were too salty for my liking. I also never got to try some of the items as the rounds were never made to my table. The desserts were decent, but I wish they had more options there too. Overall, I'd likely not return and rather spend the money on Chima or Fogo that is close by.

Loved our waiter, he was very entertaining and gave us a great experience. We did the Modan Tasting Experience (Six Course Meal*). My apologies for not taking note on what is each dish, but we enjoyed the meals. We still had room for more food, so if you have a big appetite, just keep in mind this will not fill you. lol. So many options to choose from! I really enjoyed their sushi so I would definitely come back to eat their sushi. I would recommend this spot!

I ordered a couple of cocktails off the menu - Lychee Martini was very boozy and didn't have much flavor. The Flor de Cana Pineapple Mojito is interestingly on happy hour, but not on the main cocktail menu. It was okay and not that flavorful. Honestly, I wouldn't mind shelling out $20+ cocktail if it packed a punch with flavor and well-balanced. These cocktails didn't measure up. The Cauliflower Taco was truly bite-size and was the teeny tiniest taco I've ever seen. I wasn't a big fan of the flavor, so I was glad that it was gone within 2 bites. After spending $60+ on 2 drinks and tiny taco, I was ready to go home disappointed. Our server was friendly. Maybe I didn't order the right drinks? I might come back to try another round of drinks, but not sure if I'm willing to dish out another $20+ cocktail.
