The sushi conveyor belt instantly grabbed our attention, so my husband and I had to stop in. We weren't super hungry, but it was too fun to pass up! We tried a Philly roll, a couple of other plates, and some hot sake (delicious). Everything was fresh, clean, and just what you'd hope for. I was not a fan of the mochi snack (and I love mochi), wish I had gone for the mochi ice cream instead! Plates run about $4.25-$6.50, and you can see the portions as they glide by. There are even kid-friendly picks like PB&J rolls, dumplings, fruit, and desserts, which makes it a great family stop too. Stopped by for a quick lunch and this spot was adorable. Conveniently placed in the mall and easy to get seated. Our server was quick to refill drinks and also get the check when it was time to go. I know that this sushi is never too notch and I don't to a spot like this looking for the best sushi ever, but the nigiri pieces had a decent fish to rice ratio, didn't get me sick, and they had a good variety in what was coming down the line. Service is 10/10 as all staff were attentive, not in an annoying way where you can't enjoy yourself. Concept of a rotating sushi bar was neat to see in person. Just my opinion I think you have to rank the restaurant regarding where it's located in the purpose of serving. This is a small version of the sushi places that you normally would frequent. The staff is friendly. The Sushi a conveyor belt was kind of a cool idea. Things are covered so that it protects the Health version of the sushi that's being served. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but not bad for a spot in the mall and the novelty of the revolving sushi concept is worth a visit. I've been to a couple different revolving sushi places and I will say I appreciate that Wasabi kept their belt well stocked and fresh - there was always something to choose from and there were new items each time the belt made it back around Most of the plates were the more expensive $6.50 red ones but they had 4-5 pcs on them so not too bad. 12/13/24 The place is unique. The ambience is pleasing. The food is delicious. The prices should be right...but it isn't. The general manager has known about this error, and has failed to do anything about it since September 2024...when we discovered this error. The problem has been fixed again by my server, but if you don't look at the prices, let alone the color of the plates, you might find yourself being upcharged for a price that says differently on the menu. So as Ra's Al Ghul once said "mind your surroundings." I have checked with this place three different times now and this place is looking at three strikes...this could get dangerous. "Money's the motivation, money's the conversation"...it certainly was tonight and the last two times as well. It will for other customers too. You shouldn't play with your customers like that cause they might start passing you. Your servers obviously have dealt with these mistakes and they don't like looking like fools. It sushi on a conveyor belt. If you think it's going to be the best sushi you've ever eaten then you clearly fail to understand the concept of conveyor belt delivery. Is it okay? Sure. The rice was good and the rolls were evenly cut. The blue crab rolls were the best but you might want to steer clear of the seared salmon. This is a great place if you're famished and in a hurry because the food is flying by fast and furious which is the point of their delivery mechanism. An amazing revolving sushi place! Every time I visit Tyson's corner I always eat a meal here. We came here on a Saturday around noon and there wasn't a lot of people, but there have been a few times where I had to wait for seating. There are a lot of sushi choices, along with dessert and fruit. The crunchy salmon nigiri was my favorite, it was delicious and so flavorful! We also got a crunchy roll but the crunch flakes were on the side which was kind of funny. Each space on the revolving sushi was continuously filled so there were never any empty spots. It is also very kid friendly, my friend had the peanut butter and jelly rolls which is a great concept for kids who do not like sushi to enjoy. They also had cheesecake, chocolate cake, and mochi as desserts. The variety was great and I got to try something new. The service was amazing as well, our server filled our water promptly and was extremely kind. Went to eat with a friend of mine. Service seemed great, food is okay didn't expect high quality for what we've known. However, when we paid the waiter brought out the credit card machine and had me sign; I checked for the total was about $60 and he tapped on 22% which was $14. Been seeing this place for a while and finally decided to try them out. The concept is cute. Sushi and other items rotate on a conveyor belt in front of you and you just grab as you wish. They calculate your bill based on the colored plates on your table. Each color has a different value. We were greeted and seated upon our arrival but that is where the good service stopped. I saw several members of the wait staff (blue shirts) just standing around but no one came to serve us. I was waiting on them to take our drink orders and explained how everything worked. I eventually flagged someone down and they took our drink order. They never asked if we had any questions about how everything worked. It took forever to get someone to take our order for non conveyor belt items. Waited about 10 minutes to get someone's attention to ask for our check. They were all off to the side talking to each other and texting on their phones. The sushi was just ok. I have definitely had much better. The best thing for me was the shrimp dumplings. We really use to enjoy going here when at Tysons. If you haven't been before, it's definitely worth the "experience". You sit down and get to pick sushi off the conveyor belt. You're charged by the color and number of plates you use during your visit. You can also ask for things off the menu - such as Miso soup, drinks, rolls you don't see on the belt, etc. I've been to this location many times over the years. This last visit just wasn't as enjoyable. Their prices have gone up (not surprising, given COVID and staffing issues everywhere) and the quality and size of the sushi offerings just wasn't that great. They do have many rolls to choose from and several types of sushi pieces, as well as snacks, desserts, dumplings, etc. The individual pieces of rolls are really small. Each roll comes with several pieces, but you're definitely paying for the "fun" here, not the amazing rolls. My regular sushi place has MUCH more generously sized rolls and a better ratio of fish to rice. Will we go again? Hmmm..maybe if we're at Tysons again, but I'd keep it to only a few plates. You can easily get close to $100 or more if you get sampling. Just has lost it's luster for me. read more

Yesterday, on a busy Sunday afternoon, while shopping at Tysons Corner Center in McLean, Virginia, we passed by Wasabi and saw the delicious range of offerings. We did not have time to stop and dine, so we made a take out order for both fresh sushi and for some warm appetizers including spring rolls and dumplings. Our dismal ranking for this experience was caused by two outcomes. First, we felt the portions were quite small, disproportionately so when comparing price and quality with others. Second, and more serious was the disagreement with the manager at the counter. He failed us terribly by giving us 3 vegetable spring rolls in our order, when the menu specifically listed four portions. He made unintelligible excuses and argued the point with us needlessly and unsuccessfully. He seemed determined to send us away unsatisfied - even with this tiny matter, to put us in the wrong and not try to correct their error. He begrudgingly did so. We left, not happy with the impression, the food or the experience. The warm appetizers were obviously problematic too, and tasted as though they'd been sitting in their kitchen or warmer too long - dry and unappetizing. This clearly will be the first and last visit we plan to make. It is a spot intended to charm spontaneous visitors who do not make many demands on the quality or quantity of the food they purchase. We do not feel this is a welcoming or hospitable place to visit. read more
