Initially, Sterling told me that there would be no one available until Monday morning, but offered me info on another company if I wanted to check with them instead. Fresh N Clean Septic accomplished what I had thought would be the impossible: installing a…read morereplacement septic system with a drainfield on top of the old one on a property where there was next to no space to work in, with access problems, tight passageways, numerous obstructions, a creek, tree stumps and old concrete that needed to be broken up and hauled off, overwhelming amounts of groundwater, and huge old cedar trees and mature landscaping which I was bound and determined to suffer the least possible disturbance. This was the ultimate test of "thinking outside the box," and Kiril and his crew came through with flying colors, using highly imaginative work methods, at a cost that was below both the other bids I received. And both those other contractors insisted that alterations were going to have to be made to my property which I was not willing to accept. Kiril proved them wrong. He also has specialized equipment that allows him to perform work of this nature that the other contractors apparently do not have. Now that the project is finished, I am blown away by the degree of respect that Kiril and his crew showed for my vegetation, walkway and outbuilding, with the result that my property emerged practically unscathed, except of course for the surface restoration work I'll have to do. Kiril is a highly intelligent, friendly individual with two engineering degrees - in the words of the system designer, "too smart to be doing what he is doing," but he does it because he genuinely enjoys helping people. All you need to do is look at his website - which many other septic installers do not even have - to see that this is a guy who knows what he is doing. Born and educated in Bulgaria, he nonetheless speaks superb English and coordinates all the elements of the project like clockwork. The two employees of his who did most of the installation work are from Europe, and they worked hard and performed excellent, European style craftsmanship. There was no standing around staring at smartphones with these people. I felt as if I had contracted for a mundane utility system and ended up with a Swiss watch. Also, they handled the electrical aspect of the work, so I didn't have to deal with a separate electrical contractor. I would have preferred to be kept a little better apprised of the status of the work, particularly inasmuch as the project dragged on quite a bit longer than expected due to various unforeseen circumstances. But this was not enough of a demerit to warrant deducting a star. Even if it had been, the quality of the work was six stars, so subtracting one star would still have yielded a net five stars. The one thing to remember with Kiril is that texting is the way to communicate remotely. Don't bother with email. But when you are dealing with him in person and on site, he is the nicest guy to work with. He wants to make sure everything is installed exactly the way you want it and you are happy with his work. So if you want a first class installation at a reasonable cost and you like a civilized, old world style of doing business, you should definitely put Fresh N Clean Septic at the top of your list of contractors to solicit bids from. At a minimum, you'll get a superbly prepared, detailed bid - far more professional than the other bids I received. And Kiril was the fastest to get me a bid and show up for a site inspection of any of the contractors I contacted. Highly recommended! I totally dreaded having to replace my septic system, and I usually dread dealing with contractors, but this one is a glowing exception.
