So this one star isn't for any work actually done. I contacted this company twice by phone and numerous times via email for our septic pump replacement. Each phone call I was assured a person would get back to us ASAP. NO one ever did. I recieved a email two weeks later asking if the issue was resolved! I informed them that no one ever even tried to call us or set up any time. Their response...oh sorry ive been out of the office for a week. If you have a septic issue and actually want someone to fix it or even get back to you then this isn't the company to call! read more

Highly recommend. Professional, great customer service, prompt, honest, reliable, transparent, excellent work ethics, and problems solving skills. My experience: my effluent pump needed to be replace, while other companies refused to give a breakdown of their estimate, Active Septic Solutions did. Upon arrival and inspection, Evan noticed that the pump was burned out prematurely, and wouldn't replace the new one without identifying and fixing the cause. Highly recommend. Helpful, friendly, honest, knowledgeable can do attitude. My experience, we had a bad float switch which was setting off our septic alarm. We have a very complex bio barrier system and I was having difficulty getting anyone to come out to work on it. Everyone wanted to come out and "take a look at it"= service call + return for repair. !!!$$$ I emailed Active, and received a quick response, Evan happened to be in the area and said he would come by. Evan had the skills to navigate a difficult system, had the necessary parts on hand and was able to replace the parts under warranty. Labor was fast transparent and very reasonable. Jerry and his son Evan were lifesavers for us during the December flooding. Our pump failed right before Christmas Eve and we were terrified no one would help us until long after Christmas. ActiveSeptic installed OSCAR coils on my septic earlier in the year. They were competent and prompt. That would get a 4 star My experience was similar to some of the others. When I had to call on their services again more recently, the experience was terrible. Very unresponsive, multiple emails unanswered, multiple voice mails not returned and many texts not responded to. I finally got hold of them live and set up an appointment a week out. Admittedly, I had to cancel on that. Attempting to reschedule was a painful affair with a final confirmation less that 90 minutes before the scheduled appointment. The septic pump went out in our tank. I booked a company 2 days out for an appointment window of 8am-noon. Then I got a call from that company stating they were VERY behind. Not good seeing as how it had already been 3 days since our pump died. I called Jerry and got him immediately. I let him know I needed a new pump. I gave him some model info initially and he called back with an estimate. His quote was HALF of a competitor's and used a better product. He wasn't sure he'd have anyone available for a same day repair, but said tomorrow was definitely do-able. Unfortunately, there was a communication error and we didn't get to use his services. The tech showed up at our house the same day, but I didn't realize they were coming(we weren't home). His tech explained that they were getting the proper replacement parts needed for my job. Super impressed that they went above and beyond to get me taken care of and squeeze me in for a same day appointment. The estimate was also very reasonable. I wish they had called before heading to my home so I'd know to expect them, but I'd definitely use this company for future septic needs. read more

We had a good experience with them last year when we were having nuisance alarms, which turned out to be a couple of broken floats. We started having some new alarms this year, but I haven't been able to get a response from them via either phone nor email, which has been frustrating. There aren't many people who can do this work in King County. Update: I've had a few calls with them since posting this and they've answered right away every time. I was very impressed with the service provided by Evan. We had a blocked main line that prevented us from running water. He called us first thing Monday morning told us what he thought the problem was. He was right. By 10 a.m. he had our Mainline clear and even cleaned out our septic tank filter. He thoroughly explained how the problem was created, what we need to do to prevent it and if we have the problem again how we can fix it ourselves. Finally an HONEST, FRIENDLY and GOOD Septic Repair Person! I interviewed many septic companies to make sure I was getting the full story of all my options. Jerry Murphy at Active Sept Solutions was referred to me by Warranty Septic/Bill owner (who was also great). Jerry gave me phase one, phase two and phase three options. He did not try to replace my whole system. He was the only one who asked to see my water bill to see how much water I was really using - and if I was maxing out my system. I am putting in the "timer" which may fix my system within a year, and if not, next year I will re-do the mound for a reasonable price compared to others. What I also liked is that he could do the ELECTRICAL part of putting in a timer. The other people wanted me to figure that out/arrange it. The other people wanted me to find my lids which were buried??!?! I needed one person to do it all, make my life easy and be conservative. Jerry was all that. As a bonus, he returned calls, showed up on time, and has a great personality. His team was polite and pleasant as well. Jerry did all the extra's to make sure there were no stresses or inconveniences during the process. I would actually give these guys a -5 if I could. My wife called them in August to come out and evaluate our septic system and make any repairs/pumping etc. and give us an estimate/time frame, since we contemplating selling our Farm in the next 1-2 years. Eventually, two gentleman from the company showed up, identified themselves as employees of Active Septic, and started to dig up our lawn and back pasture to look at the condition of the tank and the Distribution Box However, the two employees did have their own shovels to dig with so they borrowed mine and left two large wholes in our lawn and pasture. This was in August and since then members of the company will not return my multiple calls to them from me or my wife, even after sending them the King County health department septic design. They seemed also very sexist toward my wife who was just trying to get an evaluation, an estimate, and get the work done, pretty straight forward. At the very least they could have gotten back to us and said they didn't have time or resources for the job, however, there was no response after repeated call backs 2-4 weeks of calling them. I'm very disappointed in how Active Septic Solutions runs their business and how they treated my wife by ignoring her. Though even after we both started calling and texting them, there was still no response. This company is non-responsive and it appears that unless they can make a quick buck via pumping etc. I Do Not Recommend Doing Business with Active Septic Solutions at all, don't waste your time and effort. One other factor I found out was there is a recent business transition from Father to Son which clearly is an issue. As of this positing, I still have two holes in my yard and have been forced to contact another septic company to clean up Active Septic's mess. HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED. read more

Our septic system alarm went off during some heavy rain last fall and we had Active out to take a look. They did a system service and made sure everything was in order. Turns out, it was probably a combination of high ground water with heavy use in our house. They explained everything in detail and took the time to outline maintenance plans with no pressure. I would give this company 10 stars if I could- FABULOUS SERVICE!! I was in a panic once learning that our rental property had raw sewage backing up into the home. I called Active Septic and spoke with Jerry- the owner. I didn't have much info about the system, but he said he would be happy to look up my plans online. He informed me that his company doesn't do septic pumping, but he thought it could be another problem once I described the issues. His son, Evan called me back promptly and said he could take a look at the system. Mind you- I called at least 10 septic pumping companies trying to schedule an appointment,all were booked out for almost 2 weeks. I just got a call from Evan- he was able to fix the problem- it was a plugged line. Hallelujah!! I still need the system pumped, but was relieved my tenant would be able to use the toilet, shower, etc for now. I can't thank Active Septic enough for their prompt, outstanding service!! Great service repairing a stuck float and giving advice on filter upgrades and improvements. Work was done quickly, and we have had no problems with the system since (1+year). We were having backups in our toilets and sinks and the plumber basically found our septic system was a mess from having settled and some questionable work done by another contractor so the inflow and outflow lines were no longer all going downhill. We called Active Septic to try and repair the problem. They came out to inspect the system promptly and gave us a full explanation of what was going on and a rough estimate. They were back in a few days to do the work. Evan worked all afternoon and into the early evening digging up the lines and replacing and re-aligning everything and came in just under the original rough estimate. He added clean-outs to the lines so that we will have easy access to the pipes should they ever back up again. read more
