My experience with this dealership is pretty much spot on with one that was written by "Scott" and posted on Cargurus.com on May 5, 2017 -- you can look that one up there. Similar to that review, after locating a vehicle online, making contact with this dealership, putting together a deal over the phone (no required paperwork, I was told), with no money down required to hold it (I offered to put $2K down) and, most importantly, repeated assurances that it would not be sold out from under me while I lined up my financing (which took a day through USAA), I called to finalize things only to be told by the owner, John Warne, that he had sold the vehicle that day. I truly thought he was kidding at first but he smugly went on to say that somebody came to his dealership with the money (and likely more than we had agreed upon, I would guess) so he sold them the vehicle. I explained that we had agreed upon a deal (his daughter Amanda was with whom I was working -- she seemed terrific to that point) but he basically laughed and told me, well, you hadn't closed on it yet.
What a poor way to do business, especially in this day and age with so many other companies genuinely concerned about doing things with integrity, honesty and a great customer experience. My bad for not insisting on paperwork, a deposit or other but when you get assurances they are simply not needed, you certainly want to believe them. This dealership and Mr. Warne, in particular, ultimately displayed no integrity and a total disregard for keeping their word. Steer clear -- I have no doubt you can find that same vehicle elsewhere and from people for whom their word still means everything. I know I did. read more
