This is a fun place! It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's great. It's literally in a big warehouse, so it's plenty of space. A nice long bar, seating area for karaoke, and then like 26 pool tables, plus shuffleboard and foosball, in the back. We went at like 10 on a Saturday night, so it was busy af, but they had a lady taking down names on a waitlist. Not 15 minutes later, I got a call on my phone and we were good to go. Can I just say... Everything is big in Texas. My Vodka Tonic was poured nicely. The friendly atmosphere was welcoming and i enjoyed the locals and chit chatting about music and concerts. I will be coming back my next trip to Austin. The dive bar atmosphere is very pleasing and not too confining. There are plenty of pool tables and the Karoake was cool. Sorry no pics. Listen, although this place seems out of place this bar has everything you'd want in it including LARGE pull down screens to watch sports, karaoke on Friday nights, FOOSBALL tables in the back (4 of them), over a dozen pool tables, a mini arcade room that is super dark that includes pinball machines and even old school games. They also have cold beers, nice and prompt waitresses, and shot specials every night. They even host major sporting events that normally, if you were downtown Austin, you'd have to pay a cover charge to get in and watch. UFC fights are ALWAYS shown here paired with a shot special or two. I am reviewing this bar based on their foosball tables. All are 75 cents to play, clean, and have enough balls to get you through a fair game (that's what he said). Drink holders for your beer on the side of the foosball table makes me swoon and boy do they have them! :) Ask the waitress for quarters or go up to the lady behind the bars (literal bars) that hands out the pool balls and sticks. read more

This is without a doubt my number one go to bar in Austin ! If you just wanna shoot pool or have a drink at the bar it's lay out is perfect ! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and it has a nice big patio area attached for smokers or if you wanna grab food from the bbq truck in the large car park and watch your favorite team play on the Tv's . There are so many pool tables that you can plan a work party or any large event , you are also allowed to bring your own food which is so awesome ! I would also very much recommend this bar for business meetings of any kind , as they have a nice quiet seating area on front of the bar where nobody will bother you . Met friends here for cheap drinks and small talk. It was early on Thursday and very few people so the service was extra great. I may try billiards next time. I'm not much for karaoke. I wanted to sit outside but that's a smoking area and there was plastic covering the openings so it was a smoke tent. A great place to play pool as there are over a dozen tables. Wednesdays are free pool nights and Tuesdays and Saturdays are karaoke nights! This place sucks so hard. Who the hell charges for crappy darts? Had I known I was gonna pay $2.25 for an incomplete game, I would have never requested darts. I figured giving them my ID was a form of collateral, which is customary at other bars. The dart boards are GARBAGE. The darts would not stick in the center because they're so worn down. We popped into the warehouse to check out the USA soccer match... Staff was friendly. Very dark... Has a ton of cool pool tables... Pinball machines and skee ball. We only had cocktails and beers... Didn't eat but saw that there was a smoker outside and food trucks outside. Had some draft beers which were very affordable. That halftime play some skee ball. What is the middle of the day on a Friday so didn't have too much of an atmosphere... But I'm sure on an evening it's rocking. read more

we came for the $2 prickly pear margs. parking was ok but the huge craters we had to dodge were crazy. glad i didn't dint my rims. walk in and there is a guy drawing cool stuff on a pad with a pencil and checking your ID. darts to the left and restrooms to the right. this place is looooonnnnggg. walk up to the bar and order 2 drinks. first sip is WOW. so good and refreshingly cold. we make our way half way through the place a sit at a high table. mostly people watch. some tvs are on. back of the place is all pool tables. we decide to play basketball for $1 each and then golf for $1. we stay there for a couple hours and then leave. After sitting there for two hours having drinks and quietly playing on my phone, not bothering anyone, the shift change happened and the new bartender told me that I violated dress codes because I have a tattoo on my face. I wanted to give one star but ill be fair. The building itself is awesome. Plenty of room and pool tables. Sweet patio, all of its great. Except our immediate service from the bartender. Rude from the beginning when we asked if the game was playing. (Monday night football) Then my friend asked if they sell pitchers because some sports bars don't but I guess that was completely lost on the bartender because she looked at my friend like he was crazy and with annoyance dripping from her reply of "uh yeah, everyday". Sorry, we've never been here and definitely won't be back. We got our pitcher, sat to watch this game and as it started, there was no sound for the game. My friend didn't even want to go ask the bartender if they could add sound after she was so rude to us. We tried to get over it but by the end of the first quarter, we were so sick of hearing sad country songs until Hansen came on.. Then we HAD to leave. Nothing against them the band, but that's not what I want to hear when I'm watching football. We finished our pitcher as quick as we could, closed our tab and ran out, but not before we noticed something on the way out. On the door there was a sticker that says "best sports bar in Austin". I want to know who voted for that? Did they get free drinks all night from the bar before they cast that vote? They had to have been intoxicated. For being "Austin's number 1", you'd think the sound being put on for an nfl game would be a no brainer but you'd also think service would be pretty nice as well. Wrong and wrong. I'm just gonna keep going back to Midway Field House, I just felt like trying somewhere new. Hey! I tried! If you just want to play pool and don't like sports, go ahead and head here. This place is odd -- it definitely doesn't feel like a bar in Austin. We came for $2 craft pint nights, which is definitely an excellent deal The place is massive and was about 1/3 filled and SUPER dark inside. They have a shaded patio and games you can play at your tables but each game we tried was missing pieces, like Yahtzee minus the dice. They did give us a brand-new pack of cards to use to make up for that. Anyway, the billiards part of the bar is cool. They have a ton of options like pool, darts and shuffleboard and when we were there, they had a dealer you could play Black Jack with for $5. Seems like there are a lot of regulars here. Bar service is adequate, but just kind of a weird vibe overall. Right before we left (11 p.m. or so on a Thursday) a fight broke out between two patron and it got kind of wild. Not sure if I would come back, but would recommend for anyone looking to play pool and the like. read more
