Ordered the pepperoni pizza, just the standard. Nothing fancy. The crust! Oui! Wonderful. Crispy and thin and not burnt! The ranch for dipping is great too. But, don't sleep on that Brussel sprout warm salad. Wow! Would never have ever thought of this paring of Brussel sprouts, goat cheese, beets, candied nuts and balsamic dressing. Chefs kiss! Service was great-very friendly and thankful. Since we got it to go, cannot speak on the ambiance but what we did see was a very large, clean fun place. Glad Toss is just up the road a bit. I ordered through DoorDash at like 5pm, but my pizza and wings arrived quickly and still hot. Pizza was amazing and the crispy crust was perfect - I did a 10" custom pepperoni + on a cauliflower crust. I probably should have read some reviews on the Spicy Toss Sauce bc that was something else, lol! There were involuntary tears, a runny nose, and I'm pretty sure I couldn't feel my lips for almost 30min after I finished the 6 wings. 6 wings was perfect with the pizza, they were big and well cooked. The food was very good. It is nice to have the opportunity to try pizzas by the slice so you can have more variety. The most surprising thing about Toss was how good their Italian sandwich was. I was blown away with the flavor. This place would have gotten a five star rating if the service was better. We had to wave the waiter down multiple times and he didn't seem very attentive. Dang good first time at Toss! Went with my roomie for a quick bite on a weekday evening. No wait to get a seat, though service was a bit slow once we were seated. I got a specialty slice ($7) and the roommate got their 6 piece wings. They were sticklers about only one flavor sauce on the wings sadly haha. My slice was HUGE and beautiful. It was very thin, and the flavor was great. I wish that the dough had a bit more structure, as its floppiness was my only complaint. I didn't love the flavor of the roasted vegetable - I think because I'm not a big fan of peppers and would have preferred the option to exchange them for slice tomato. Enjoyed my first visit to Toss. I enjoyed the vibe and service. The waitstaff was very attentive. The Good: We were seated immediately, and promptly served a glass of water. Garlic bread was full flavor. My wife loved her canzone. She gave me a taste and I was extremely jealous I did not order a canzone. The bad: Maine Root root beer is my favorite so I was pumped to see the fountain drink serve Maine root sodas. "Ahhh we are out of root beer." Imagine my disappointment. Then I see brunch is served, but there's no brunch menu. When I asked for one: ahhh, let me see if I can find one. At that point, I was too hungry so I stuck with water and ordered my food. This is probably our go-to dine-in pizza place now. If you just do a head to head comparison of pizza to pizza, I think Home Slice still beats Toss, but it's close, and Toss has a lot of extras that put them over the edge. Not least of which is actually being able to find a parking place and a table. There's some charm to eating your pizza standing on the corner of So-Co watching dogs and tech-bros go by, but it's not what you want every time. So... Toss. Lots of toppings. Really good pizza. I just stick with garlic and peperoni, but there are SO many options, and the crust and sauce are just right. Lovely ambiance. It's got like an indoor/outdoor almost beer garden thing going on. At least so far it's not usually too busy. A healthy crowd, but it's stays fairly chill. The service is a little meh, but it's not bad, it's just kind of a spread out restaurant, and they seem maybe a little understaffed? No one's been rude, just not very attentive. Again, compare to Home Slice... at least there is service? For me, the champion, is s'mores. I can't fathom why more places don't have s'mores as a desert. It's fast for them to make. it's delicious. It's something that's kind of a hassle to make a home. Feels like an easy win. I'm not a HUGE pizza fan, so if I'm going to be hyped about going to a pizza place for dinner (which I'd liked to be, because my family loves pizza) than having those little extras on the menu is a big plus. My one complaint, and it's pretty major, but I didn't dock a star for it, is some of the seating. OMG... the most uncomfortable stools you have ever sat on in your whole life. I truly almost didn't finish my meal my tailbone hurt so bad. I don't know what in the world they were thinking with those stools. Want cheap pizza and drinks? This is your place! Even more so if you have kids. Unfortunately, that doesn't describe me. If you're just driving by, it looks quite spacious. Actually, it consists of a small (almost cramped) inside space plus an outside space where kids can yell and run around. There were plenty of kids inside, too. It was loud and busy, with lots of people picking up takeout. I was lucky to find a seat inside. I saw only two waitresses, plus one guy who seemed to be cleaning up rather than serving, and one bartender. This was simply not enough staff! I had trouble getting a waitress's attention to order. I don't blame her; not only was she overworked, but also it was hard to tell who was there to eat in rather than pick up. However, it made me late for an appointment I had afterward. Prices were low. I got half of a 20-inch pizza for $15. To put that in perspective, it's 38% more than a 12-inch pizza. Beer and cocktails were likewise good buys. The pizza was adequate. It tasted fine, but the crust was soggy and limp. Personally, I'd rather pay more and get better pizza. Your mileage may differ. read more

But get this... the queso is MELTED VELVEETA.. very gross. Listen guys, you are in TEXAS. You CANNOT get away with using a melted block of synthetic cheese as an appetizer.. especially in Austin where everywhere serves queso and truly some of the best are local. Great food and people! Recommend the Old Fashioned drink they barrel age. Delicious! Frozen margaritas on point and pretty strong. You don't realize it until you are almost done. We ordered the warm Brussels sprouts, garlic bread, cheese pizza, hot honey farmhouse, bbq chicken wings, and south 1st supreme. We enjoyed the outdoor area with our dog and got him a funky chicken. Went for some pizza and monday night football, we arrived and there were two spots right behind the bar, with a good view of the game. The bartender took our orders and came up to our table to check in and was very polite and we didn't find ourselves wondering if we would be served. The pizza itself was very good, i don't normally notice the sauce before toppings, but the tomato sauce was delicious. You can order individual custom slices, or half a pizza they have curated and of course a whole as well. I got a half of the South 1st Supreme ($17) which could feed two people. The toppings were generous and my boyfriend got the Texas BBQ Brisket, while I was a huge fan of getting a bunch of toppings he wasn't stoked- but enjoyed the pizza. My wife really liked the buffalo chicken...most likely it was the blue cheese on it that set it apart from most...but the sause was tangy too. I ordered the Spinach Artichoke pizza, which was a half pie topped with romano cream sauce, chicken, spinach, artichoke, and mozzarella (also typically served with bacon, but I'm particular about bacon). Surprisingly, the Spinach Artichoke pizza was not as creamy or savory as expected. The chicken was dry, and you definitely need to add a dash of salt to this. We also ordered 12 wings, half in the Sambal Glaze and the other half in Sesame. The wings were crispy, but needed more sauce. I would advice to ask for a side of both sauces to slather on top. However the flavor of the garlic parm is pretty much oil with a hint of garlic. First and foremost, I do not write reviews, and I am incredibly patient and understanding with issues in restaurants as well as servers being busy. We went to toss on a Thursday night, not busy by any means. Ordered a pizza, waited for an hour with zero updates on the status of our order. After an hour of waiting our server told us "sorry for the wait they messed up the pizza twice". Apparently they burnt the first one and broke the second one in half. No problem, accidents happen, the issue is that we were not informed about any of these issues or checked on for a hour while we waited. We then told our server that we didn't get any plates, or the hot honey or ranch that we ordered on the side. After about 10 minutes our server returned with these items, except the hot honey was actually just a cup of maple syrup. We told our server that it was maple syrup and not honey and her response was "we don't have maple syrup". No problem, accidents happen, but accountability goes a long way. She then returns with a cup of hot honey and tells us they made it spicier since we probably thought it was maple syrup because it was sweet. We then asked her to smell the syrup. When she did her response was "oh yeah this is maple syrup". No apologies for anything other than the initial "sorry about the wait" and we had to get up from our table and walk up to the server station to ask for our check. I completely understand that businesses are understaffed and people have bad days, but apologies and explanations go a long way in my eyes in the service industry. read more

What a great place to watch a Longhorn game. We sat at the bar and had an amazing experience with the service from our bartenders. I don't think there was one thing bad about this place! Parking was easy, plenty of seating, a server grabbed our drinks quickly & gave suggestions as requested. Checked on us multiple times and was very friendly! They were kind enough to do a pizza with half vegan cheese and half regular cheese so that I could share with my friends and not have to get my own pizza. Most places won't do that so I was very appreciative that they did! The pizza was really large and had a ton of toppings and tasted so good! We ordered waffle fries and a salad, both which were perfect portions to split with 3 people and tasted delicious.
