    Article on the new owners

This place is soooo good! Something to note if you read other reviews...new owners took over in 2022. I got a cheeseburger with bacon and a side of their bacon jelly and lemme tell ya, 10/10 would recommend. The bacon jelly was so dang good!!! Everything was super fresh and the staff is really nice. This restaurant has been here since the 60s and new owners bought it and it is really a must visit if you're in the area - plus its connected to an adorable local store (which I of course went in an got some local honey and berry syrup). Check out the article picture I posted to read the history of the place. They serve breakfast and lunch you won't want to miss.

    Love this!

Food was outstanding, best patty melt I have had in awhile. Gives you that small town old dinner... service was on spot. Will come again!

Grill has been part of Saluda for many years. Had lunch there. We had the Ward's 50/50 Burger, nice flavor, not greasy comes with a side, lettuce, tomato & pickle slices. Hours- open until 3pm. Serves breakfast too. It is adjacent to the Thompson's grocery store. Worth checking out.

I loved the vibe and old world charm of the place. My kids both had regular cheeseburgers and I had a bacon cheeseburger with hot pimento. It was huge! My only complaint is that all 3 of our burgers were pretty pink and cool in the middle. I like my burgers to be DONE. It would have been nice to have been asked ahead of time how we'd like them cooked. The ranch seemed like it was made in house and had a lot of dill, it was different but tasty. Fries were incredibly greasy and not done enough for us either. Overall though, was a good experience even though the food wasn't cooked to our preference.

    Diners like they should be!

I don't give many 5's, but this is great little diner and soda fountain. We had the CJ burger and it was excellent. (You can buy the ground hamburg used in the burger in the attached Mercantile.) Clean, efficient and ti's fun to watch the cook do his thing. Don't miss this one in downtown Saluda.

    Yummy home cooked breakfast!

Really good food and very reasonably priced! Perfect place for an easy low key lunch after looking at the neighboring galleries and stores!

Great burger, fries and shake. The staff is friendly and courteous. We made sure to return to Ward's again this year on vacation.

A cool, old-fashioned diner style restaurant. The store next door is quaint, as well.

The the Purple Onion (Henderson County) is different. We went as a table of four and everyone enjoyed it greatly. I had a gluten free pizza, which for most places you can forget about it. Purple Onion nailed it. Everyone at our table had different options and enjoyed the food and drink. The atmosphere is wonderful even when I in the back of the patio staring at the wall! All restaurants should run like this. Bravo!

Glad to see they were dog friendly. One girl came over and gave our dog some water. The prices are a bit higher than some of the other locations near by. The special this day was the flat bread. It was the last one they had for the day. The server we had was pre occupied getting the empty tables prepped I think they were closing shortly after because they were not very attentive to us. We had to keep asking if someone could get our waiter for refills on drinks. We had a piece of tiramisu at the end to share. We went by the showcase when we came in to sit down .it was ok looked better than it was. A bit dry. Over all a bit pricey, more touristy than for the everyday lunch crowd. Food ok but service wrecked our lunch experience. Would not go out of our way to eat here.

Sufficient variety to make everyone happy. Expensive, but reasonable for this kind of quality. Everything on the menu has great creativity. The only negative is the lack of parking. We arrived right at our reservation time, but were disappointed that we weren't seated at either of the two tables with the best view. Meanwhile, other couples who arrived later were seated at those premium tables. The restaurant serves hors d'oeuvres in the entry of the restaurant (inside the Inn) before dinner and gives guests the option to enjoy them before being seated. We weren't aware of this until we arrived, so the process felt a bit confusing and chose not to. For a fine dining restaurant, the food was average. My husband's steak was overcooked even though he ordered it medium rare, and the pasta dish looked and tasted like something we could have made at home. The cocktail selection was also fairly standard, but good. The highlights of the meal were the veal bourguignonne's carrots and the apple streusel dessert, which was the best course of the evening. The view and ambiance were breathtaking and easily deserve 5 stars. Unfortunately, the seating experience and food didn't live up to the setting, especially for such an important celebration.

Usually we come around 10ish and there's a small wait or the place is just really packed (even outdoor seating). But today we stopped around 8:30 and there was only a couple of tables taken up. We were greeted with a smile right away and taken to a table. We were given 2 different menus. One containing the different breakfast and brunch options they offer and the second one with the coffees and alcoholic beverages. Once you look at the menu you see that there is a lot of the basic breakfast options you can find at other restaurants. But what also makes the menu different is that they offer latin breakfast and lunch items like huevos rancheros, huevos con chorizo, tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Since it was so early I decided to go with the huevos rancheros since I've never had them here before. I also decided to go with the honey bear latte (iced) with oat milk as my drink for this morning. My latte was really good! It had hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and honey. The oat milk mixed in perfectly making the latte have a nice creamy taste. Once my dish came out I was happy at the presentation of the plate. I ordered my eggs overhard and they came topped with salsa roja, queso fresco, and cilantro. All of this was placed on top of a fried tortilla and given to me with a side of home fries. Over all I did like the dish. I will say the salsa roja threw me off because I expected it to be a little more spicy, however it had a more citrus/lime taste to it. The home fries however were a 10/10 for me, I liked how crispy they were and how I didn't need to add more salt and pepper to them. Overall I really did enjoy my time this morning at Arabella's. Our server was super nice and attentive with us. The atmosphere is calming. Also it's nice to see the people of Hendersonville coming in and supporting this local business. If you're from the area or a tourist definitely check this place out. You wont be dissapointed.
