After my…read moreoptometrist appointment, a very kind optician at Visionworks spent a very, very long time trying to repair my glasses. And she succeeded! I thought they were beyond repair, but they're actually more comfortable now than they were before. I really appreciate her help. When it comes time to buy a new pair of glasses (which, at this rate, will be soon) I plan to opt for Visionworks. But guys, start carrying Tom Ford glasses! They're great.

The professionalism of your assistant during the intake prep was very caring and attentive. Likewise you, Dr. Basic, showed a great calmness and quiet gentleness as you listened to my Autistic daughter, speak on and on, about things of interest to her. I have mentioned, your service, to several people of how we were able to get in for exams, so quickly, as that seems to be an issue for many people, at this time. Again, it was nice to see you, and thank you for your time. Cordially, Janice Walters and Jade

Funny thing is I think I'm the only one who has ever complained? Why, why do you need loud music in a place like a bookstore? Employees - this should be an OSHA issue, workplace health and safety. We had an awesome time and the instructors were nice, welcoming, and fun. The place was clean and had lots of cool merchandise. We enjoyed making vegan sushi and "egg rolls" but none of it had any flavor as we really barely used seasoning at all so that was a huge disappointment. As a vegan cooking enthusiast, I think I could've made something much more tasty on my own. The meal could've benefitted from salt, ginger, onion, garlic! Sriracha even. And wasabi is ESSENTIAL for sushi, always. The dessert was amazing though and the whipped coconut cream was the highlight. I would give them another chance.

Added plus, it had a nice front display (not cheap looking like Party City). The customer service was excellent- when we walked in they helped us find what we needed (a giant bow) immediately. When we went to find balloons, James (one of the staff), helped me find the right ones. He also saved us from deflated balloons. We went the store the day before the party and he asked us when the party was because certain balloons only last 24 hours; it's a good thing he checked because we ended up needing to pick up the balloons the next day otherwise they would've deflated before the event! I was incredibly impressed with how thorough he was. He kept helping my group- it's obvious he's going above and beyond at his job. The other woman working was also lovely- really all the staff! The store also had a great selection of items and good hours- great find!!!! SKIP PARTY CITY AND GO TO THIS PLACE!

For weeks, months, nay, years, I was in search of reasonably priced 11x17 frames for my 11x17…read moreposters. I went to store after store but was coldheartedly rejected by the generic granddaughters holding sunflowers and puppies. But then, oh my goodness, suddenly the frames appeared... in Joel's office. Sadly they belonged to Joel and were holding Joel's posters so I couldn't just take the money and run. Also they were kind of high up on the wall and I don't think I could reach. Joel is tall. "Where oh where did you get those frames, Joel??" I asked. "Why, Michaels, of course," he answered, adding, "Duh!" No, he didn't really say "duh." He's very polite. So off I biked to Michaels, located conveniently in the nearby Barracks Road Shopping Center. Barracks Road is a great place to go to observe our dependence on foreign oil. You will see bumper stickers such as "My other car is also here at Barracks Road, because my family believes carpooling is un-American" and "I had to sell my other car to refinance my home mortgage and now it belongs to Bank of America." I took the escalator five steps at a time (see: Elf) and emerged on a large floor filled with everything. Gift wrap, knitting supplies, fall wreaths, wooden sculptures, halloween costumes, beach pails, posters, and yes, frames. So many frames! I walked around the frame section drooling for a while. ("Cleanup in aisle Frame!") Then I spotted the perfect 11x17 from across the room. I gave it a quick glance to see if it was looking at me too. It was! I approached it carefully, so as not to startle it. The $9 price tag begged, "Love me!" When we finally touched, I held it in my arms and we danced all night long.

From the store employees, to Customer Care, and ultimately to the escalation/grievance service, I encountered an inability- or unwillingness- to resolve what should have been a very simple problem: a special-order frame that was canceled the same day it was ordered, and the resulting balance that should have been removed from a new Michaels credit-card account. I received the credit-card bill before I even received the physical card. A company reveals its true nature through how it treats its customers - not only when everything goes smoothly, but especially when something goes wrong. The quality of a company and its staff is demonstrated by their willingness and ability to listen, take responsibility and find a reasonable resolution to a customers problem. Unfortunately, my experience with Michaels demonstrated the opposite. After calling the store, Customer Care and the Escalation service, I was still left without a reasonable resolution to a canceled order. Thankfully, consumers today have many businesses to choose from. After this experience, I will never shop at Michaels and will take my business elsewhere.
